I literally just moved 2 months ago to Arlington from out of state and I can tell you right of the bat the cost of living difference is huge! I’m renting a whole house with front, back yard and 2 car garage for the same price I paid a townhouse back in the Midwest states. I live in a nice area near the Arlington Lake and my kids go to the best school in the district. No regrets and never going back. Arlington TX is the American Dream for me. It is convenient to be between Dallas and Ft Worth and have the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Six Flags and so much more.
I don't know where you moved from, but for us who moved from Omaha/Cleveland, the rent for houses seemed really high. We bought a house, and if you look around, there are a lot of good deals for homes in the area. We are paying about the same amount for a larger but older house on a 15 year mortgage. Good Luck from another new Arlington resident.
That is a lie come live near division street near the stadium. Arlington Texas has more project areas of crime. I laugh when I see ignorant comments by people with money. I was born and raised in Arlington TX.
@@christianhenry4173 if you read my comment was 2 yrs ago. Completely different time. I lived near Green Oaks and Pleasant Ridge. If you live near the stadium that’s your choice and not my problem.
My father and my sisters decided to buy a house in Arlington, they told me it's a great city. However one of the cons is the lack of public transportation.
I'm not interested buying a home but I watched whole video cause of effective representment . (I'm a student I'll come Arlington this summer for work and travel.) thank you for your effort..
Arlington is famous for 6flags, Texas rangers and GM, lots of constructions along i-30, I believe Arlington has a large Vietnamese community as there is a super big Asian grocery store. there is a Grand Prairie outlet not far away. arlington is in the middle of D and FW, restricting its expansion. Dana, I'd like to hear your thoughts about coppell and flower mound
Zhang Tony I’m in love with Flower Mound. One of my favorite DFW locations. I’m still wondering why Coppell is so special?? They do have fabulous schools and a great location. But it’s not the most beautiful city in the suburbs of Dallas (in my opinion).
@@movingtotexas I believe people love coppell for various reasons: 1. great schools with diversity 2. for middle class working near downtown who do not want to commute > 1hour from plano/frisco/allen 3. in the middle of everywhere: plano, grapevine, southlake, irving, dallas.... 4. close to i-35 and 114, pgbt, very close to DFW airport 5. good resale value, very matured community, I do not see much new development
I really like how you present things. I am mostly looking at rentals, maybe a studio home with a yard I can have to myself for cheap. I'd like to maybe discuss options.
@@movingtotexas I was wondering about the area. Is it nice? Are there rural properties available for reasonable prices? I'm in southern California. We would like sell our house and come out there and rent first before we settle in an area.
Hi I like yours videos I'm trying move Texas but I never got there I'm a little confused what part it's more better . I'm thinking cedar hill, desoto, duncanville, red oak or Arlington . Please can you tell me your opinion thanks !
I never been there but plan on visiting next week, yes it looks like central location, however, I hear there is a LoT if section 8 and rentals which usually reflects a ghetto environment , what are your thoughts on that?
There are some good schools in Arlington - Martin High, Boles Jr High, and Moore Elementary are some of the best schools in Arlington. Otherwise Mansfield, and many northern suburbs have great schools.
Hi Dana...I'm visiting Arlington in early April with plans to move in late June to work @ AISD as an educational specialist. I was thinking of renting for a year before buying a 2bed, 2bath condo or townhouse. I would love for you to be my realtor and will definitely reach out to you.
How is the public transportation there? I am a college student and thinking of transferring to there. However, I will not have a care for at least 2-3 months. How is that gonna work?
Yes there are some lots available. Depending on which suburb you would like will determine your purchase price. Close to the city lots are going pretty high and it would be hard to build a custom home under $500K. Further in the country it is possible. There are some Mediterranean style homes in Frisco but more on the upper $700K+ In Arlington you could build one right about $650K-$700K.
Dana Pollard - Dallas-Fort Worth Real Estate - Thank you for the info! This helps a lot! We are planing to move to the Dallas-Fort Worth area next summer. Thanks again 🌸
Dana, We are strongly thinking of moving to TX from CA. We are three families that will be moving. I watch several youtuber's from Texas on a regular basis, Texan's are Wonderful!!! My Dad is 92 & needs a relatively warm climate, compared to Colorado where he grew up. My husband and Brother in law want an area where Railroad jobs are available for freight as well as passenger. Unsure of area/family will research some more. Question: Are there any people in Texas that are really not open to "icky" Californians moving in? We are all very conservative/not the typical Californian at all!!! So, happy you popped up. Down the road you might be a huge blessing and a wealth of information for us.
K Scheuerman It was shocking to me to see so many hateful comments on my California video! It just doesn’t seem that way here at all. I interviewed a couple that are moving here from California and they were concerned as well. But they didn’t receive hate in person at all! You can watch that video if you want. So secretly people are afraid of liberals changing our great state. They feel freedom to voice it anonymously on RUclips 😯
Do it ! You won’t regret it. I did it and yes you are right Texans are wonderful people and everywhere I go it’s really difficult to have a bad experience
I have lived in Arlington TX all my life and honestly it’s not worth it to rent apartments or condos here. Stick to buying a home. Crime rate has gone up sooo much I do not plan on raising my child here
Rent has gone up astronomically here in Arlington, I still plan on living here, but it wasn't this way 13 years ago
Love Texas but THE Grand Canyon sized problem with the state is the prop taxes. They alone are a house payment.

That's by design. Arlington was originally built around the GM plant and GM didn't want public transportation there for obvious reasons.
Thank you so much.. ❤️ from iraq 🇮🇶
For a middle size Texas city .. it is extremely diverse .. loads of entertainment.. UT Arlington .. nice parks .. shopping

How about the large property for example 5/10 acres..what would be the price range
It really depends on how close to the city you want. In Flower Mound, I just sold a 5 acre lot for $610K. In the country it is a lot less.
What about property tax? I heard very high. Do you have retirement community?
I never been there but plan on visiting next week, yes it looks like central location, however, I hear there is a LoT if section 8 and rentals which usually reflects a ghetto environment , what are your thoughts on that?
Yes there is a lot of section 8. It’s really such a mixed environment. You can have a $700k home next to a trailer park.
Lived in Arlington tx for 10 years now and everything is more expensive then what it was...
Yes it will always be this way anywhere you live. Housing goes up by 4% on average. Although in 2015 and 2016 it went up like 11%.
