      Only because it's so widespread and it's an Olympic sport. Both have their merits in terms of sporting value. ITF is like a taekwondo styled kickboxing or similar to kyokushin.

      Well done Mr Tooby, keep on training, focus your mind for a part of EVERY day on an aspect of taekwondo (patterns, interpretations, stretching etc) Identify a goal in EACH ASPECT (write this goal down) and as you attain the goals - tick them off.
      You will continue to progress.
      Also, sell taekwondo to as many of your freinds and neighbours as you can, get them to come down for the first lesson and if they then don't like it then so what? taekwondo isnt for everyone but if some of them continue with taekwondo it will keep you motivated and promote the art itself.
      good luck

    Now this is the real taekwondo, the only bad thing about it is that itf sparring is also semi contact only, but at least it's continous instead if point and stop like in point fighting karate competitions. It would be cool if there was a full contact ruleset, althought you see knockouts like this sometimes.

ITF zakon.

    I’d probably stick to the tournament footage, not that silly choreographed shit in between. That stuff is laughable. The guy featured from 1:49 - 2:10 can actually fight, but after him everything is a complete joke. The intro fight at the start is practically a parody of TKD, not a compliment. I love TKD, and that Hwoarang style power and precision, which is why I want people to see how legit it can be in the right hands, not those silly demonstrations.

      ITF Taekwon-do is the original TKD. Taekkyun a traditional Martial art most foot, Hwarang Do, a Traditional Martial art to kill, and Gi-Baek, all from Korea!! History from Korea, this styles are in one modern style, the original TKD. It was in tha army, now it is in the world. But for good TKD you must search a Good TKD School. They are to much fake Schools.

    I am pretty sure that official ITF rules state that a competitor is disqualified for uncontrolled or ecessive contact and also disqualified for causing a knockout. Anyone of these guys if fighting under what you say is "true TKD" would be disqualified. Yet you are making a claim in this video that true ITF is full contact with knockouts and street worthy fighting and somehow better than WTF sparring.
    WTF sparring has official rules that encourage knockouts and excessive contact does not exist because they encourage excessive contact and want to cause damage.

    • @Tomatito1981
      @Tomatito1981 10 лет назад

      ITF sparring is now essentially full contact at national level and upward. Groups that are ITF style (especially in the UK such as the TAGB) have tried to maintain semi-contact and enforce this far more. Ironically, watching the recent WTF Grand Prix and World Champs, the contact level has definitely decreased and you are not seeing as many outright full-power kicks to either the body or head. EBP has definitely changed the game in terms of scoring the points. Chung Kuk Hyun openly said this in an interview with the TKD newszine, MasTaekwondo. I agree, even as recently as 2002, WTF was full power but I dont agree with the comment about damage,

    • @MaharlikaAWA
      @MaharlikaAWA 10 лет назад

      tomatito1981 ITF sparring so far is officially light contact. I have not yet seen an official ITF world rules book or whatever mention anything about allowing knockouts yet. I am sure some fringe ITF groups are doing it but it is not actually an official thing yet. But if you say its heading that way we will see and I think that will be interesting.
      Also I wish ITF would allow hook and upercuts, bc watching straight punches is kind of boring. Also the no leg kicking is going to stay similar to WTF.
      You are right, even if WTF is officially full contact with knockouts, it does not happen as much as it did,. I do agree with eletronic scoring changing the game. In my opinion it makes is weaker and annoying. Much how fencing is one of the most boring sports to watch now. early 90's WTF Taekwondo was pretty hardcore and more aggressive. Now peoople are sported their ways to victory gaming the system.
      Wish we could find a Taekwondo sport org that allows more kickboxing type rules with low kicks too.
