2022 Makita grease gun disappointed

  • Was not impressed with the dedicated grease gun.
    Suffer most of the issues the cheaper drill powered on has.
    Hopefully it will last ALOT longer.

    Have you tried to swap out the fitting to stop it from leaking? Mine just slowly leaks in the back of my truck and it's getting annoying!

      Nozzle does not leak alot. If wiping it off just after using a tiny little piece might come out during storage. Now that it's summer and warm weather it seems to work great 👍

    Wish I saw this before I bought mine. Absolute crap. And so expensive for something that’s so temperamental

      During the summer now greasing the excavator the Makita has worked fine.
      Have had a chance to use the DeWalt that was bought at work. Seems to do it's job but only summer use on that so far. But the pin you pull to replace cartridge does not work to push back in anymore so sticks out and goes in as grease is used.
      It has not seen alot of use so the yellow and black brand seems questionable also so far.

    Good review! I wanted to try one of these to see how it is compared to Milwaukee’s we normally use. But if they’re junk I’ll pass! I don’t think makita has the selectable grease counter on it either which is really nice for repetitive zerks just going down the line. 👍

      Selectable grease counter?
      The Makita has like a high and low "gear". So if you know there is no/low resistance in big joints it can pump more grease for each stroke.
      But it will automatically reduce feed if there is resistance. So if you want to be sure to get a certain volume of grease in. Going with low "gear" and counting pumps.

      @@blackgrove8 the thumb wheel on the side that selects the number of pumps before it shuts off automatically. On, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50. If you’ve used an m18 grease gun, you know what I mean.

      @@stirv6462 Have not used an M18, think they bought the DeWalt grease gun at work so will be able to compare that to the Makita.
      Do not expect to have any issues with the Makita during the summer (even the drill powered worked great during the summer).
      Might have to see if I can borrow an M18 next winter and see if it truly is as good as it seems on a cold winter day.

      @@blackgrove8 I bought a makita but it doesn’t get but 40-50 degrees where I am. I’m still debating if I should send it back.

      Celsius or Fahrenheit? If the low point in temperature is 40-50 F it should not be the problems I see when it's far below freezing.
      Have not had the chance to see how the DeWalt unit at work handle low temperatures but also found reviews of the Milwaukee most people claim is so good also have issues in the cold.
      Until they create a unit with a heating element for the grease there will probably be feed issues with grease in the cold.
      Know some models (old unit at work but don't know the brand) have a heating sleeve that you could have a spare grease cartridge in and attach it to a 12v outlet in the car.

      Kanske följer med om man köper ett Makita kit (gissar den går köpa som nått kit med laddare och batteri).
      Blev Makita och bara fettsprutan själv för att det fanns gott om batterier och laddare.
      Med dom priser jag sett på 90 vinklar så är det MYCKET billigare med ett billigt munstycke och en fettnippel.
