The funny thing is that while this is one of the things he was best known for, he was actually from Wisconsin (which would probably explain why he's so good at doing it) and a hardcore Packers fan.

Even as a kid I loved this back in like 3rd grade I’d fake sick to stay home fr school and watch all of dads 90s snl episodes he taped.
I remember when the Bears beat the Saints in the 2006 NFC Championship and I remember the newspaper headline “WHO DAT? DA BEARS!!”

Why can’t SNL have sketches this funny anymore?
It’s on purpose. Gradually over time, they’ve purposely lowered the quality of content in all the media. The purpose is to desensitize people and slowly lower collective intellect, to make the public more easily programmable, so gradual that the vast majority of people don’t notice enough to make a fuss and pose any resistance to it.
Flashier imagery, tons of CGI, extremely exaggerated acting/ lack of nuanced emotion, subtlety, and sarcasm, over-exaggerated facial expressions and body language and in animated characters. People are easily manipulated by crisis actors and terrible acting because they don’t know what genuine emotion looks like anymore with decades of increasingly bad acting. Listen to the music they use for a lot of commercials - it’s really light, pre-school level music with the whistles and instrumentation they’d use exclusively for children (which is also insulting to the intelligence of children). They’re talking to you and treating you like a kindergartener to set the gap of intelligence further and further apart. An example - “Who’s Line is it Anyway” - the original UK version, far more organic where the comedians were challenged into using their intellect and creativity - plenty of sarcasm, wit, and subtle humor to trigger your intellect. Then it came to the US, extremely dumbed down. Corporate takeover of radio stations gradually starting in the 80s, stadiums and football fields named after corporations, disintegration of anything authentic and of our history and roots like Sears Tower, John Hancock building, etc. Goes way deeper, but people are going to throw that “conspiracy” BS around. Ain’t new to me…I’ve seen/ sensed it happening on some level with increasing awareness of what was happening for decades now, since I was pretty young. It’s hard for most people to see, especially the more you’re tuned into the propaganda box 📺 - I’ve gotten rid of mine for around 20 years now. That’s why it’s so blaringly obvious to me…all of it. That and having a natural propensity toward studying human psychology and behavior. Everyone’s being played like marionettes.
