At this point as a Vancouver fan I’d gladly do Miller for Horvat. We could even throw Raty on top to sweeten the deal. lol But Horvat will never waive to go back to a management team who turned him away… I think the management team in Vancouver has to go after this fiasco.
I wouldn’t even trade Horvat for Petterson never mind Miller. At least Miller is worth his contact. Sure Petterson is more talented than Horvat but he also costs $3.1 m per season more.
I wouldn’t trade Dobson or Barzal for Petterson. It’s it that I don’t think that Petterson isn’t a good player it’s that I can just picture myself screaming at the tv for him to do something for that $11.6m. I know he’s having a down year but he’s just not worth that kind of money. He doesn’t drive play.
Islanders are not trading Barzal.
No way we can spend that much for someone who has won nothing. Why bring on a player from a dysfunctional team? If we’re paying anyone over $10 million… they need to have a ring. Bo, Kyle, JG… all came from not good franchises. Time to add some Cup Culture outside of management.
I think a move on Pettersson would be based solely on a conversation between Lou and Horvath. I can't imagine any would know EP40 better than Bo.

Do not trade for Elias Peterson. I'd rather swap Dobson for some other young package from them.
Seriously, Nelson and Eiserman have great chemistry as seen in WJr Championship. We could conceivably trade Nelson to the Avs for Calum Ritchie. And We could if we keep losing be in running for Scheaffer.
If we trade Nelson to MN we could ask for Zev Buium which would be awesome. Peterson seems like Yashin to me - inconsistent and moody.
We could be very young and dynamic with these kids. I'd rather go this route. I want nothing to do Peterson or Miller. Hughes is a different story, I just don't want to give up the youth we could potentially have and build around.
There is no cap space. Send Dobson, Nelson and a pick (not 1st rd).
Dobson will not be traded while injured. So the opportunity to trade him this year is pretty much gone.
@skiinggator we don't even know what the injury is. A team that is about to blow up the locker room may just want Dobson for next year anyway.

Agreed. Barzal wouldn't be the player I'd want to trade either, but I feel the two are our only true bargaining chips in a deal that could land Pettersson.

@jamiepike6909 NY Islanders scouting dept is one of the worst in the league. Dacolle,bellows, Wahlstrom, wilde,jhs, dufour,maggiore Durand. To rebuild our scouting dept we need 16 months. Hence the need for young and established players
