A gap or something that would let the cable through would open up more versatility and make it 10/10 perfect. Amazing piece of equipment regardless! Big dubs to REP.
Yes, my rack has cables running down the center-front of the upright if the trolley is all the way at the bottom. Things like seal rows would be impossible if the cable can't pass through.
Love my Pegasus! Got it for my Rogue RM4, and fits without any issues. The detachable leg rollers to use as a stand alone piece is a very nice feature. The Pegasus will come in handy even more as I convert my power rack to the new twin stack cable system for lat pull downs and for some leg workouts
Trying to figured out what set up I want in my new garage gym. Most likely going with wall mounted fixed athena due to most versatility for price and space. Rep fitness is the move for equipment
With so many cambered handle options the limited range is hardly a criticism. This looks like a no brainer if it fits within your setup. Putting this in my ever growing wishlist
When will the review of the Ares 2.0 be? I heard it was going through quality issues and thus they are double checking. Great consistency from REP. Better take longer and right.
My biggest complaint with this as a seal row pad is your face ends up right next to the upright. That’s why I like the Thresher so much, you have a good healthy distance from the upright which means you can also use it facing away from the rack like a Pritchett Pad (minus being offset for the landmine).
All new prime single stacks have holes on the side. I wish yours had holes on the side because I want to see if the Pegasus would work on the prime single stack. Thanks for the great review!
Need a way to center this within a rack for use with their lat pulldown/low row attachment. should be possible to mount something on the rear stabilizer for this. cmon Rep make it happen!
Are you going to do a hands on review of the new rogue functional trainer? Would really like to see more info on it especially the half rack version. Please please please
Still waiting for Coop’s review of Rogue’s new functional trainers. It’s mind blowing to me that customers have already been receiving these functional trainers for well over a month now and only one single review (thanks Gluck’s Gym) exists on RUclips so far! This was one of the biggest equipment releases of the year by one of if not the biggest home gym equipment supplier and no one is reviewing this equipment. Why?
I don't think rogue has a kickback program like rep does and they don't send out review samples. Plus you kind of know what you're getting with rogue most of the time
@@andersonhirt that makes sense... If you have to pay for the unit to do a review, that takes the guys who actually are invested in reviews. I love Glucks channel for willing to pay his own money
They also have an affiliate / kickback program. It’s on the bottom of their site. FYI. Their cable slinger thing was bad but the Ares 2.0 vs FM will be fun to see! Great for consumers to have competition and choices.
10:52 this would only be not getting a full contraction, not limiting the stretch portion, and there are plenty of cable attachments such as hammer curl or open row style. Is there a way to attach the leg rollers not to each other, to have one on either side of a rack rather than around the same upright? doesn't look it, but has some versatility.
nice piece, but the ares 5000 has the cable running outside of the square tubes, so low rows cant be done with that rack, since the attachment will interfere with the cable. They didnt think about that!! :(
I pre-ordered this so you know I was excited about it but since receiving it, I haven't found much use for it so it mostly collects dust. Its does not even serve me as a seat for the lat pull downs. For most of the exercises mentioned like curls, flys, chest supported rows etc. it's just easier, simpler, and faster to use the bench that I'm already working out on. For context, I have the Rep PR 5000 with the cable attachment and the additional weights. The selectorize weights for a single stack on the Rep cable attachment only go up to ~155lbs, I can pull down over 200lbs for reps so I require the double stack which you can't use if you use the Pegasus Seat. It's ok for dumbbell rows, but isn't the best for barbell rows like Coop pointed out.....even when doing dumbbell rows its faster and easier to use my Rep fitness bench. I can't think about a single use case where I'd recommend its purchase to a home gym user, especially at that price.
The cambered attachment isn’t super necessary, because the stretch is at the start of a row. Otherwise why not use a cambered bar for lat pulldowns too?
I hate that there are 1” and 5/8” holes. I went with 5/8 because everything is cheaper and I don’t see any benefit to 1” holes. It just stinks that sometimes you can’t get the attachment you want because it’s for a different hole size.
You just said there is no benefit to 1" holes then listed the very reason I went with 1" holes. Every company makes more accessories for the 1" version. So yes there is a benefit you should've thought about before buying 5/8"
does the prx axis thing achieve similar things? bells of steel? i'm still not certain why you can't just use an ad bench and rollers for most things this "does"
I had the same thoughts, but I was told one thing this can help with is if your rack has front extension feet you can't bring a bench right up against the upright easily so you can't really use your bench as a seat for pulldowns with just a lower cost leg holder attachment on the upright, so in that case an attachment like this can make pulldowns possible. But I am still trying to figure out how an adjustable bench can't already do the other things like chest supported rows and presses, especially given the only 300lb weight capacity. It seems a bit overpriced for mainly just allowing you to have a pulldown seat but there could be some other advantages to using an attachment like this instead of your bench for those exercises that I'm just not aware of.
i'm looking to have as few pieces as possible so i'll actually use them all. this is why i ordered the dialed motion. use their method for lat and belt so that i can use mostly what i have already and not have to deal with carrying a heavy accessory around mounting and adjusting. i could literally use my entire 3 car garage as i have another but i just don't see the point in doing that. i'm not competing and im not training others so im looking to keep it minimal but full service. to each their own i just see this the same as i see lever arms-fun in theory but either in the way or unweildly
Any idea when the 5/8 version is coming? Also, what do you think about using this with a dialed motion set up like the sidewinder? Seems like it might be similar to using the voltra, as mentioned in the video.
The “full rom” argument kinda doesn’t matter. The stretched/extended portion of the movement is the most hypertrophic. The top of the movement isn’t that critical in the seal row.
Definitely disagree purely from an enjoyment perspective, but also not everyone is training for hypertrophy and full rom can be better for other adaptations
Anyone know any low row attachment (not just hack with a bench), so you can do proper seated low rows, instead of sitting on the floor, or in an awkward position with a bench?
Rep is really thinking some of these designs through, using them, and refining things until they're truly great. I also don't mind the weight of something like this given its usage and versatility. In terms of price, given the fact that Sorinex wants $369 for a basic piece (albeit well made), I'll spend another $30 to get something like this that's leagues ahead with respect to features. In my mind, this one is a value compared to those.
I want it just for the removable rollers that screw together in the post. Seriously, sell that as a standalone, and I'd buy it. Are there any other dual-side single-post rollers? Leg Hold Down Attachments always stick out too far.
Coop, I'm genuinely a little confused as to the usefulness of this thing, couldn't you do almost all of these features/exercises just as well with an adjustable bench and a cheap leg holder attachment off AMZN for pulldowns for like $75? Just slide your bench up close to your rack/cable system and you can incline for chest support, pressing, curls, etc..., and flat for a seat + leg holder w/pulldowns. Is there something that the Pegasus does so much better that it's worth the $400 if you've already got a good bench and leg roller attachment?
Using your bench as a seat for pulldowns is impossible if you have front legs on your rack. It's also a lot more adjustable than any bench. But this would only make sense if you need a seat + leg holder, an adjustable row pad, and leg rollers. All 3 of these combined will run you about 350-400 USD.
