- In todays video we install a 4" Rough Country spindle lift on my 1999 Chevy C1500. The install was pretty straight forward with only a few time consuming parts. I would give yourself a full day to do the install at a chill pace. Half a day if you're more knowledgable.
thank god I thought it was gonna get lowered lol
Ikr!
It’s a 2wd. It makes more sense to lower it. Plus it was lowered before he put the spindle lift on.
Bro same I was so worried
@@0311tard lowered would hurt it
@@pepeiann no it wouldn’t
Just a helpful tip if you ever have to beat on a castle nut like you did on the outer tie rod flip the nut over so the “castle “ part is down bc sometimes if you hit it like you did it’ll bend the castle part and mess up the nut and threads
Lift the rear and get some wheels like Larry used to have the old style with some beefy tires it would look clean as hell man!
Very good content! AND you also have a very good understanding of mechanics. BTW, you stated early on that "you are old". You are not old, you have your entire life ahead of you if you play your cards right! I am old at 63. LoL. Your vid = A+
You gotta raise the back end , the front end of tht with the lift is 🔥🔥
The OBS would look good with Mickey Thompson bullet holes
I second that
Fuk NO!!
Agreed that's what I have on my truck with 33 inch toyo m/t's
So far" you and I seem to be the only ones left with a 1999 C/K 1500 Chevrolet pick up 4x4 5.7 350 Z71 same color too. Sunset Gold metallic. I can't find another one anywhere. Nice truck dude.
That's pewter metallic and I have a c2500 long bed 5.7 similar to it
Just did the rc spindles on my 98 obs, so far love it! It does scrub since i put some wides with 33s tho
Did u have any problems with the brake line length?
Not to nitpick, but it seems like this would be a perfect time to replace bearings and ball joints since you had it all apart, right?
I thought the same thing. These keyed lifts destroy ball joints.
@@lelenbates3367 there's no keys
Hopefully I can help some comment folks. You don’t need extended brake lines you just need to loosen a brake line holding bracket which gives you that extra brake line but you could benefit from extending brake lines. Another mention is he does not mention how to actually remove the front shock I removed my driver side with a vice grip and a wrench on the right side I didn’t even try to remove the shock and was able to install the spindle no problem.
It's so lit larry and baby squat obs works good with it now
Just did my 6 lug conversion today love how it turned out
Just get a real 4x4 😂
@@jjmccloud got the truck for a hell of a deal
We need tint now and a whip antenna 🤣💯
Carter pins or cotter pins?
Cotter pin
Looks badass bro
What size rims are you rubbing Against the spindle ???
Thanks for the video, where did you get the headlights and the ones below ??
question for you. I bought the same spindles, haven't received them yet. from the looks of it it looks like the offset has changed with the new lift spindles. In your opinion, did the offset change at all?
What’s a “carter pin” or an 11/8 on the big boy? 😂 asking for a friend….
Lookin like a certified bubba truck 😂😎
I’ve never clicked faster
should do some 22x14s on some 33x13.5 420s or somethin like that
that damn carter pin
I can't seem to find the 4in lift spindles for a '91 2wd Ext Cab 5 lug
Rough Country makes a 4in spindle lift.. I bought one for my 91 2wd ext.cab
Don’t raise it leave it 🤩🤩
Hello Friend how are you ? I really like your videos, I have a 1998 gmc sierra and I want to raise it 4 inches. and it would be good if you can leave the link of these that you are installing to buy them, well, I already bisque them and those that you have do not come out. I wish you could give me the link I would really appreciate it
I have a 2.5 inch level kit on my 02 f150. I have had alot of problems with getting alignments, and wierd noises have started comin from the front end. Should i change to a spindle lift and if so is it difficult to remove a level kit?
Level it out, wide rims, beefy tires, and light bars🥵
I wish the 4WD models had a spindle lift.
I wanna see some of the new Walmart 24x14s on it
Looks good buddy It will look a lot better level and it will look like a bad beast if you put tow mirrors on it buddy but that 5.7 is looking good
Keep it squatted and put the wides on it
legit stick mud graps on the stocks with clear headlights and thats my dream truck but z71 and blue
Shoulda lowered man. Ya know add sum variety to the fleet
Will be lowering one
Yessir❄️👌🏼
Please don’t lower
Just wanted to let ya know its cotter pin bud, great video otherwise!
Earl dont look bad, but i want to see him leveled. What does larry have done to him lift wise?
Did you have to get different control arms bc of the camber and caster angles
Let em lean 🚀
For sure level it and 33s
Hey bro would this kit work for 2500 same year?
Be safe when working bro keep your legs out from under the truck
Trucks sitting on jack stands. Unless we have a earthquake ill be okay lol
What size wheels are on that truck? 16”? I’ve heard that these spindles won’t work with 15” wheels. Have you tried a 15” wheel on it?
Those are stock 15s.
Needs those 4s and 5s rn
Would this be the same process for 6inch spindles ??
Please put some 35s on those rims
Keep than squatted! Looks so good
do you have to put spacers on it after on the front of you have the 15x7s? anwser would be very appreciated
Do you have the link to the lift kit? I've looked for it and have not been able to find it
Say I did a 6in rc spindle lift and my bearings didn’t fit the spindle did you run into that problem ?
would these spindles do the trick to level the silverado 2 wd?
Would these spindles fit on a 4wd?
1995 Gmc Yukon SLE 4wd?
How did you brake hoses work?
With that lift, did you have to get extenders for the brake lines or can you run it with out messing with the brake lines ?
I still don’t know if I need extended ones
Mane I just ordered the same lift or my Tahoe
Buy another whip and put on it
I think you should just take the drop shackles out.
i love the stance!
ive always liked a lifted 2wd truck! the carolina squat is cool. lol.
maybe take the shackles off tho! bring it up a bit
now i prefer 15 inch wheels and meaty tires myself!
nice ride man!
great video!
11 8ths on the big boy ?
Buy another truck and lower it u have all lifted a lil twist wouldn’t hurt
Hi I have a 2500 Chevy pick up truck I want a lifted on my truck what spindle you use can I get the name and link if you can
GOOD AFTERNOON, VERY GOOD WORK, PLEASE YOU. COULD YOU GIVE ME THE PART NUMBER THAT I PLACED, WE HAVE A TRUCK VERY SIMILAR TO YOURS. THANKS A LOT. GREETINGS FROM VENEZUELA
What size tires are on it in this video?
Obs look clean🔥
Level for sure!
WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR BACKING PLATES FOR YOUR FRONT BRAKES. I CANT FIND THEM FUCKING ANYWHERE
Do you have a link for the kit ?
now lift the back end 2 inches higher than the front...then put your meaty tires...👍
I’m doing this right now I got one side done took me 3 hrs just to do one side lot of cussing my guy
Lmfscrew how much did that lift run you?
Is a different cross member needed for a 3inch body lift on a 1998 chevy k1500?
any help would be awesome!
@@thesidecharacter4670 I have a 1996 k1500 and I just gotta know why you're messing with the cross member. That's all frame work and I only had to remove one of mine to replace the tranny. For a lift you typically are just messing with the suspension and depending on the lift and kit the steering as well
@@Thatdieselguy5 yeah this was a while ago, i had no knowledge, I got the body lift, and I want to install it myself but I have no room to do that, (nowhere flat), so my plan was to pay a shop to do it and the lowest price I got quoted was 1300$ because of the steering extension, labor and such. Now I'm planning on just buying a 6-inch rough country suspension lift.
@@thesidecharacter4670 very nice. Im doing some research of my own on lifting my k1500 and thr only time I ever saw people mess around with the cross member was when they got a new one. The only thing that has me concerned with my lift is the torsion bars as I see people do lifts where they either do get a new cross member to lower them to help with stability and then videos where they dont mess around with them and just lift only at the shocks and control arms. Im just doing a 3 inch lift on my truck and I've been debating what kit to go with here in a couple months
@@Thatdieselguy5 for me its overall cheaper to buy the 6 inch. The body lift has too many complications and hidden costs and variables
First one in the comment
Wow very good
Y’all wanna know something crazy
So I found this channel when I first got my 1997 f150 and that’s what he had and then I got surprised with a 2014 Sierra which is pretty much what he has, don’t believe me... check my videos lol
How much was it
Level it up bud!
They are NOT called " Carter Pins", they are called "Cotter Pins"....
If only it was a k1500
Truck looks good 🥵🔥
Keep that thang squatted
Level it homie!
There supposedly 3 in posted as 4
Could I get a link to those spindles please?
Roughcountry.com
Put sum bead lock wheels on it with some mt’s
Just try to remember how hard it was on there 😂
Leveled
Get a new set up for Larry and put the 22x12 on the obs
Level it out!
I like it
Now just some tint and a whip and u got a 💩📦
Do you still have the tractor tires if so put them on when you 6 lug convert it
Do I have to change my shocks if they are not stocks? With the spindle lift on c1500
Yes you will need longer shocks
Put the 420s on the obs with some wides wheels
I’ve been waiting for this 🔥‼️✅
I just put this lift on my 96 obs and I added 1.5 inch add a leafs in the rear with the blocks. Only problem I’m having is I need long body upper control arms to align it properly cause there is an issue with the stock ones.
What size wheels and tires will fit good?
Take the wheels off baby squat and put them on the obs for a video
Hell yeah
I raised mine the same way but I also did 3 inch pylon blocks in the bed and the cab. I have SMV shocks as well. My tool box is the Trail Boss tool box black.
Please leave it like it is don’t put them rear blocks in! Also I hope your gonna get some spacers for the rear so them wheels are even and lined up! Tires you should get are some mud grapplers
What in the Carolina squattin queer shii are you talking about buddy
in my opinion the back sits perfect
Put Larry’s mud grabs on the OBS
He sold those
squatted
