Bro f*ck those bullies don't let them stop u from learning and exploring a beautiful sport like Cricket...Most of the fans here r educated and they do understand it's not easy for someone to just know everything about a sport in 2-3 videos...I enjoy watching cricket reaction and I hope u keep doing it on this channel.
The fifth Pakistani wicket was given out LBW which is 'leg before wicket.' If a batsman misses a ball with the bat and his leg is struck in front of his wicket, the fielding team will appeal. If the umpire decides that the ball would have gone on to hit the wicket if the legs hadn't been in the way, then he will give the batsman out lbw.
A lot of people have been comparing it to the 1980 Miracle on Ice but the USSR was the #1 team in the world at the time in hockey. Pakistan was #6 in cricket so its not the same scale of upset but it was the same concept a bunch of amateur players beat a professional team.
It's worth noting that even though it's called "leg" before wicket actually any part of your body will do (except hands, considered part of the bat), as long as the ball could have hit the wicket. If you duck down to avoid a bouncer and get hit in the head, you can still be out lbw.
@@nac5901 If a batter uses his hand to touch the ball and the umpire feels the ball would have hit the stumps, it is called handling the ball. Now it is part of obstructing the field, but it remains a unique method of being dismissed.
I'm from Pakistan and I can officially confirm that this is the biggest loss for Pakistan in the history of its cricket. all of our major news channels, news anchor, panelist they were so upset that several of them even were crying and they have described this as the death of Pakistani cricket. Now obviously that is not true but nobody was expecting this. There were giant LED TV boards outside in the streets thousands of people in capacity were watching 2 nights ago And they were in shock. There were brawls there too, That's how upset people were. People were so upset they were several fights that took place that night. Overall congratulations to United States cricket team for defeating not only former T20 World Champion Pakistan, but also defeating World Cup finalist team from last year in Pakistan.🎉❤
@DemonArshan Never. It is nowhere comparable to Pakistan loosing against Bangladesh in 1999. That team had legends and they lost to Bangladesh who came to play for the first time. Pakistan even played Finals in that world cup
Every time a team gets a wicket they lose a batter. Each team only has 11 batters so either the teams out score each other or they’ve lost all their batters to wickets
@@DansBoringChannel that's still affecting it indirectly. Obviously more wickets will mean less runs. That's not the point. Net run rate is calculated on the difference between run rates of the teams playing. If one team has 9 wickets and the other zero wickets, it has no bearing on NRR.
I see plenty of people have explained that wickets do still matter in T20. I will just point out that when they put "Team need x from y balls," x means the amount of runs needed to win. So in the USA's final ball of their inning the score said "USA need 5 from 1 ball." The batter hit a 4 point boundary which tied it to send it to the Super Over
When 5 Runs Needed from Lat 1 ball left.. If USA Hitted A SIX instead of FOUR, they could have WIN there itself. Since they could hit only FOUR. so match is TIED. No BALLS left to play game. In earlier days of cricket if such situation comes, there used to decide THE WINNER By TAILING A COIN. By calling HEADS & TAIL. whoever calls correct, that team will win. That method was not proper since probability of the coin which comes hitting ground can wary every times if tried. So International Cricket Council (ICC) Comes up changing this method of deciding the winners. Then new things comes out. Both Team will get ONE OVER TO BOWL. No BASTMAN INVOLVED THERE. Six Bowlers of each team will bowl towards the opposite cricket stumps. Which team HITS MORE ON CRICKET WICKET BY BALL, WILL BE ANNOUNCED AS WINNER. Just like in FOOTBALL, After giving EXTRA TIMES, THE WINNERS WILL BE DECIDED BY HITTING THE GOAL TOWARDS GOAL KEEPER(SUDDEN DEATH). Now This also changed by ICC. Now Winner is decided by Playing ONE SUPER OVER. IF both teams SCORE TIED IN SUPER OVER.. Then Again One more SUPER OVER WILL BE GIVEN. Untill the REAL WINNER DECIDES.. I hope I cleared ur doubt
Of course losing wickets is bad because you may lose your best players from the top of your batting order - which is another part of Cricket strategy. Where do you place your best batsmen in the order? They can only be used once in an innings. Bring them on early on to do damage, or later on to finish up? You can always work through your batting order by getting your batsmen to take more wild shots to risk getting out - which may pay off with many runs - or not. Cricket has a lot of strategy.
Taking early wickets is good, you are getting their best batsman out cheaply, which in turn puts pressure on the middle order to play more conservatively than they are used too which can lead to slow run rates or more wickets as they are playing in a way uncomfortable to them. LBW(blocking), the umpire decides the ball will hit the stumps if the batsman leg/body wasnt there. If you can try and catch a full game live which will help you alot cause they are explaining alot of the rules to help the american viewers, you should watch India vs Pakistan, it should be a great match and also if India win that will help USA reach the next stage.
USA has certainly created History after beating the last WC's finalist. If USA manages to maintain their Run rate they will have an edge to reach the Super 8, which is the second stage of the tournament, not only that, if USA reaches Super 8 they will get direct qualification for the 2026 T20WC.
@@darrenjhodgey4734get some knowledge. All were US citizen and 4 were even born in US. U must not forget US is based on immigration so it should not bother anyone if they are indo- American or white or black American
But cricket actual world cup is ODI. T20 is just a decade ago and its not considered greatest achievement since it happens every 2 years but ODI and test is valuable. T20WC is best for new teams to get into mainstream
@@sdkbr2063 T20 is the most entertaining format. Hard-Hitters, Wicket-takers, and good fielders get more limelight in T20 then other formats. Right now, ODIs are dying and ICC is not doing anything to improve it.
Cricket fan writing here - you did an awesome job covering this match! I’m so happy to see Americans enjoying the game. Hope you keep the coverage beyond this T20 CWC in your channel. 😊
The bowler of US team who won the super over for you was a part of India's under 19 winning team. But the most fascinating aspect for me is that he is currently working as a software engineer. In Oracle, if I'm right.
Just wanted to comment and say, I have watched your journey since the football WC when you first were figuring out the sport, to learning the history of the game, and then on to you playing it yourself. The journey has been nothing but amazing, especially given that Americans tend to treat Football as a soft or kids sport, or sometimes a sport that's not taken seriously, or a sport for immigrants. Its even more amazing to now see you reacting to cricket and picking up the rules this quickly (even though its a one off vid apart from when you dabbled in checking it our previously). I must say the way you pick up the rules of the game is quite impressive. The willingness to learn is remarkable. Nothing but respect to you for doing this, regardless of the sport. Both Cricket and Football are quite near and dear to me. I actually will be heading to about 6-7 matches for this cricket WC given it taking place in my part of the world (The West Indies). Hope to see you follow the USA team along on their journey (even if its not with online content) and more importantly, going with the grain and enjoying sports the rest of the world also likes, and not bashing the sport because its not traditionally played in the States. Keep it up bro! PS: Wickets matter in the exact same way Outs matter in baseball. In T20 cricket each team bats just once, therefore there is only one inning each. So to compare it to baseball terms, 3 Outs retire the batting team's inning. The same exact concept goes for cricket, 10 wickets retire the team's inning. Hope that helps. In short, Wickets = Outs.... And there are 10 wickets in an inning.
Let's not forget, Pakistan's players were trained by their own "Surrender Army" on how to take a knee. Congratulations to the USA on a remarkable win! As an Indian, I'm not interested in Ind vs Pak anymore. They just don't seem like a worthy opponent... I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with the USA, but I'll definitely be booking a table at the sports bar in my city mumbai with my colleagues. We'll grab some beers and enjoy watching India take on the USA! After all, the USA has proven itself worthy by defeating Surrenderstan (Pakistan's new nickname), who had plenty of World Cup experience but still fell flat against a newer team. Hats off to all the USA players, especially Saurabh Netravalkar, who moved from Mumbai, India to the USA and is now representing them on the field! This showcases the beauty of Indians who, upon relocating to another nation, embrace their new home and fight for its success. So Congrats USA from India.
USA 🇺🇸 actually played Cricket in 1844 vs canada 🇨🇦 Which is first Crickets International Match,&philadelphia is oldest cricket club. Cricket is in our Dna🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅
What a match. It took my 40 mins of sleep , where I was planning to sleep by end of 20 overs of USA chase. But it got extended to Super Over The match over at 1:30 AM in the morning. Then when I went to sleep the next 1 hour was USA USA USA in my mind. Congratulations to USA 😊
You are absolutely right , the fifth wicket you were wondering is the batter blocking the wickets/3 stumps. It is called LBW (Leg Before Wicket). If the batter ask umpire to review (each team has 3 reviews allowed), then the Hawkeye cameras (ball tracking cameras) come into play which shows the 3rd umpire sitting in room full of screens with all 22 camera views. If the Hawkeye helps decide if the batter has blocked the ball that was going to hit the wickets or miss the wicket - hence, the out or Not Out decision is displayed on stadium screens. Thank you for your fantastic understanding of cricket. In nutshell, apart from the ball hitting the wickets or being caught by player, LBW is another way of throwing out the batter.
You can bowl all 10 batters out in T20. It's actually been happening quite a lot in this World Cup. People have been blaming the pitches in the US, but it's been happening in the matches in the Caribbean too - which are all cricket stadiums with long histories. But also - teams always front-load their batting with their best guys. So if you can get a few early wickets, you end up with the most important parts of the match being batted by people who maybe aren't as comfortable batting - or are downright poor at batting and are specialised bowlers. So that can significantly lower the score the other team manages to get. Because of that, teams usually stick a big-hitter at like 4th in the line-up. But there's always a little bit of risk in that, because if there are no wickets, then you might have just benched your best guy, effectively. That final ball was amazing, because all three outcomes were in the picture. If Aaron Jones had smacked it out of the park for 6, then USA would have won there and then, if he had got a 4 like he did, then it went to the super over. But anything else and Pakistan would have won. So if a fielder had managed to stop that ball before it got to the boundary, then Pakistan would have won it there. There was so much pressure on his to hit the ball in an a gap between fielders. It was incredible technique and composure.
Taking wickets is most important if you want to win the match top 5-6 players are good batters rest of them are bowlers who can't bat. Imagine we are chasing 170 and opponent team takes the wicket of virat or dhoni then we switch off our TV thinking now there is no one left who can chase the target like that and from opponents perspective they strategies taking virats wicket because after him no one left who can chase the target
Each team of 11 players gets 20 overs to bat, you need get 10 batters out and then the opposing team has to chase down the runs scored by the first team in 20 overs. 1 over = 6 Legitimate Deliveries or Pitches as you call it in Baseball. If the scores are tied at the end of 40 overs (20+20) the teams get a super over each .i.e 1 over of 6 deliveries each to hammer out a result. Which is rare and happened in this match. USA won the match in the super over.
So let me get this right. 1. Teams take turns batting 2. The second team needs to match/ surpass the points scored by the first batting team 3. By catching a ball you remove a player from the game 4. When all players are removed their turn ends even if there are still pitches to be played 5. So basically you need to score as many points while also not getting your players/ wickets taken out Did I get the general idea behind the rules/ game play of cricket
@@wuxiagamescentralyou're on point, especially the 4th point of yours. You got that correct. And that's all you need to know to enjoy the game, the more intricacies you'll learn by spending time with the game. Btw these matches are being held at New pitches. And this new pitches are not considered ideal For batters. It becomes impossible to predict the delivery. Only Texas matches are entertaining as they play MLC matches in texas so that's a Used pitch.
Congrats to Pakistan !! They have managed to LOSE to a team where a couple of players work as IT engineers, others work in gas stations & practice cricket in the evening. USA got wild card entry in the tournament as hosts. So kudos to team USA & once again congtats to 2 times champion Pakistan
The US never let pakistan build momentum early on and kept up the pressure with fantastic bowling and fielding execution. Pakistan also has a world class bowling attack, but misfielding and bowling mistakes (especially in the super over) caused them to fumble this one. Insane statement win for the US, the federation is in good shape
No. Of wickets matter for 2 reasons: first, if a 10 batters are out before finishing 20 overs than can’t bat the remaining overs. They are called 'all out' Second, usually persons come to bat after 6/7 wicket are mainly bowlers. That means they may not be as efficient as a batter like their predecessors. So, taking more wicket means you are exposing your opponents weak batters (who are mainly bowlers) So, statistically wicket don’t matter much unless a team gets 10 wickets of the opponent. But it matters in a gameplay and strategies. As example, if you are a batter who came to bat after 1/2 wickets and you have 10 overs (60 balls) remaining in the game, you know that you have 7 batters left even if you get out at that point. So you play more freely, try to score more runs and take risks. But if you are batter who came to bat after 5/6 wicket that with 60 balls remaining you know that there's only 4 batters left after you who are most likely bowlers and can’t bat as efficiently as you so you take less risk to preserve your wicket hence less runs. So, your gameplay as a batter depends on the wickets remaining.
Bro.. There are 11 players in the team and two bat together.. That means u have 10 wickets only.. That's why u see 6,7...etc after the runs.. Again 10 WICKETS in total... so if u get 10 wickets before 20 overs are complete that's ur final score.. no more batters can come out to bat & as others have already mentioned as u loose more wickets u see bowlers/pitchers coming into bat.. so obviously as they are less capable batsmen.. it is always advantageous for the bowling-side to pick as many wickets as possible.
9:08 USA required 5 runs from 1 legitimate ball. The Batsman score a Boundary NOT SIX. A boundary means 4 runs not 6. 6 means when the ball directly landed over the rope/ boundaries. 4 when the ball either roles through boundary or just bounced one or multiple times inside the rope. So that was 4 runs Which means both team scored exactly same runs. 159 in this case. So in this case which teams lost how many wickets doesn't matter. Just like in Football If scores are level, we have penalty shootout, here in cricket we have Super Over. Means again, both team will bat for 1 over/ 6 balls. And then they will again try to score as many runs as possible and then the team who batted first will then defend the runs ehich they scored. Nowadays, the team USA in this case who were batting in the second innings for 20 overs will ideally bat first in the super over. Which they did and scored 18 runs. Then Pakistan had to come back again to score those runs + 1 additional run for victory which they were not able to do. Hence USA had an extraordinary and thrilling victory 😊
Congratulations USA! Welcome to the world of cricket. With love and support from India🇮🇳. Cricket originated in England. Most of the white Americans are British origin people. USA used to be British colonies. But still most of the Americans and Canadians are not aware of cricket. On the other hand cricket is popular in England, Australia, New Zealand, India , Pakistan and Bangladesh. The craze for cricket is very high in India, Australia and England. Even the British PM Sunak and the Australian PM Albanese debated on cricket. By the way Indian origin Americans (including the US captain) are playing on behalf of US cricket team.
Actually USA and Canada were the only non British nations and the first two teams in the late 17th Century to play an international match, Cricket was popular in the USA until the Civil War in the 19th Century.
3:50 he blocked the wicket with his leg. - 3 Strikes == Once ball hits the batter stumps / wickets - Block wicket = LBW ( Leg before wicket ) - Catch Out (same, in cricket whole body counts) - baserunner tagged Out == Run Out batter or runner - HomeRun == Ball goes to boundary touching ground = 4 runs , without = 6 runs If he hadn't blocked, the ball would have hit the stumps.
8:15 There are 11 players in a team. The first pair when they come in batting they always comes in a pair, that means starting 2 players out of 11, 9 are still remaining. Then team can take 10 wickets either inside 20 overs or sometimes the first pair itself can play complete 20 overs/ 120 balls. Imagine 10 wickets got lost inside 10 overs then the 11 player will be stranded alone without any partners to play. And he remains stranded.
The 5th wicket got out by LBW ( Leg Before Wicket ) . It means your legs were in front of those 3 wickets behind you and you couldn't play that ball with the bat and that ball hits on your leg , without touching bat . So you are LBW ( Leg before wicket ) out .
Cricket is something that gets easier to understand when you have more context. I tend to compare it more to NFL in that sense, it's a game that has so many subtleties that you need something to bring you in to it until you understand it before you can really start to enjoy it. There are 37(?) named fielding positions so when you get familiar with the game you'll start to get an idea of why a fielding team has 3 or 4 'slips' or when they'll settle for 2 and have more deep fielders to protect the boundaries. You're right in a sense that the wickets matters a bit less in T20 as getting a team all out doesn't happen as often, BUT generally a batting order is arranged in the order of batting quality, so the more wickets you get, the lesser quality of batter you're facing, so while you probably don't win on wickets, you're definitely getting an advantage as the wicket count goes up. If you're interested in learning more about the sport, I'd maybe suggest trying a collab with the Cricket For Americans channel, and stream reactions to a game so you can have some of the nuances explained
You are right about your understanding for wickets. Ideally, when tie happens in runs, USA can be considered a winner since they lost only 3 wickets. But unfortunately, International Cricket Council doesn’t consider it. They consider only runs for winning the game. That’s why teams had to play super over (one extra over in game) to determine final winner.
So basically the 6th wicket is called an lbw or leg-before-wicket in full. If the umpire thinks that the ball has hit the leg before the bat and the path was towards the stumps, they are out.
Cricket and USA are a match made in heaven. Trust me it will be biggest sport in US in few years. American mindset can someday produce a world champion team
3:53 for the 5th wicket it was a LBW (leg before wicket). So the bat did not touch the ball and the ball's impact is in-line. What that means is that the only thing between the wicket and the ball is the batsman's leg (the batsman failed to defend the wicket) so he is out.
4.14 ...he was LBW out that is leg before wicket. If batsman unable to hit the ball from bat and the ball touch down the leg and it Suppose to be hit on the wicket if he leaves then it is up to the umpire whether he wants to give a out or not.
8:02 no its not you got 10 wickts only if they , let take an example is usa is 150-9 and ome more wicket goes they are all out and another team will come to bat , if usa stayed till 120 balls ( 20 overs ) the other teams come to bat thats it . Sir
basically, there are 2 types of boundaries. if the ball flies directly out of the boundary after touching the bat then it is a 6. if the ball doesn't fly directly and bounces in between after connection with the bat then it's a 4. Also wicket no 5 which u didn't get understand is called leg before wicket or LBW in short form. Over there the batsman is given out because he basically blocked the stumps (those 3 wicket things) with legs. and there are even rules for LBW but for now this would do the job for beginners. Superover is like a penalty where each team is given an over (which is 6 balls) to score as much as possible and the team that scores more wins.
Kudos to you for reacting to this. I hope the American Media and Audiences understand that this is yet another sport that they can fall in love with and their atheletes can dominate. Won't hurt at all if USA, Canada and other developing countries join on the bandwagon it lifts us all up. Rooting for your Successes and Growth in the future ❤
I'll try and answer most of your questions. 1. In cricket, usually the best BATSMEN start in a descending order. So basically, after 5-6 wickets, only BOWLERS are left who are not good at batting. Hence, first few wickets are very important. 2. Yes, he was blocking the wicket(stumps), That is illegal and if the umpire thinks that the ball would've hit the wicket, he can give OUT. Ofcourse you can challenge/review later. 3. You get 10 wickets and 20 overs at the start of your innings. If you run out of either one, Innings Ends. For example, if you lose 10 wickets before 20 overs, you are done or if you bat 20 overs with wickets remaining, you are done. 4. Wickets are like lives in a game. You get 10 lives and you have to use them to get runs. Like Pakistan scored 159 runs and lost 7 wickets. Now USA has to score 160 runs and it doesn't matter how many wickets they lose to get that score. 5. During that last ball, USA was at 155 runs. They needed 5 runs to win. But he scored a 4 (you thought it was a 6). Which makes them both tied at 159 runs. This is where SUPEROVER comes. Its basically a tie breaker. Both teams get 1 over (6 balls) to bat. Same rules, whoever scores more runs in 6 balls, WINS.
In cricket, the team that scores more than the opposite team is the winner. Wickets don't matter at all unless the match is affected by rain. In this scenario, we use D/L method formula that considers all the wickets lost, runs on board at the time of match stoppage n then gives a projected target for the chasing team.
Why dont you collab with some other Indian RUclipsr... And try to understand cricket rules... And make a reaction video over other match highlight... That is going to be fun for sure!!!!! 🎉
Wickets are always important because you have to get better batsmen out.... Because if a quality batsman is set, he can destroy bowlers and score many runs.... Wickets put pressure on batting teams
Bro u have got the idea of 10 wickets but here's the extra one in a super over (equivalent to penalties in football) u have to get 2 wickets to end the innings of a team within 6 ball 😊
3:51 well here yes you are right he was blocking the wicket with his legs. The rule is if the batsman's legs are on the line of the wicket and the ball hits his legs its out.
8:17 so basically every team has11 players with atleast 5 bowlers to bowl 4 overs each to complete 20 overs. Atleast 6 complete batters to face all 20 overs. But to play more aggressively and score quick runs teams try to get allrounders who ball and bat so that batsmen at the top can play freely and try score runs quickly to either chase score quickly or set a huge score. On the bowling if some bowler has a bad day allrounder can help ball a couple of overs.
A cricket team is made by a combination of batters all-rounders and bowlers and there are only 11 slots so top 6 or 7 of a cricket team consists of batters and all-rounders who can do both ball and bat and the rest 5 are bowlers so this is how wickets effects the game,Each time a wickets fall it effects the score of team because teams only have 10 wickets so every time a wickets falls the team lose a batter and there are only 7-8 batters in a team and the rest 4-5 players are bowlers who doesn't know to bat and if a team losses all there 10 wickets that's it that's end of the innings because all of their players got out
4:10 That's known as an lbw - leg before wicket. Cricket is tiny sport in the US so it's good to see some enthusiasm for what is actually a fantastic sport.
4:14 is called LBW - Leg Before Wickets... Considered as out. It happens when the ball doesn't touch the bat & hits the Batsman leg or other parts first which would've hit the stumps if he wasn't there... If the ball touches the bat first then the Batsman is Safe
One more thing you have to understand about taking wickets is that the last 3-4 batsmen are always bowlers, meaning they're not good at batting. If you can get the top order batsmen out, and you're left with the lower/bottom order batsmen, that means it's likely you can get them all out quickly and limit the amount of runs scored. At the very least, even if you can't get those last 3-4 guys out, they won't be able to play shots well like the top order batsmen and score as many runs.
This is called Leg before Wicket or LBW. It’s when the leg of the batsman directly blocks the wicket and the ball is prevented from hitting the wicket without contact from the bat
3:52 there are various ways you can get a batter out. Right there was a leg before wicket or simply LBW. He couldn't hit the ball with the bat but blocked the stumps. That's out. And yes you are correct. The batting team can maximum lose 10 wickets. It doesn't matter wheather the overs are completed or not.
Definitely consider watching cricket matches, although those aren't interesting like Soccer, like every moment you are thrilled. But it's damm unpredictable, and when u start to watch it's like addiction. The most interesting part of the game is the end part. Must try out ❤❤
As Pakistan lost me , my wife and my younger brother laughed and My father almost had an heartattack with laugh after US' victory . Okay for the 5th wicket of Pakistan it's called LBW and yes that batsman ( I don't know his name because I have never seen or heard of him before) was blocking the wickets . Each over has 6 deliveries (except Wide and No balls) so US needed 94 runs in 9.5 overs which means 9*5 +6 =59 balls.
4:01 this is LBW (leg before wicket) When the ball hits a player's leg instead of hitting his or her bat, and would have hit the wicket if the leg had not stopped it, then that player is out lbw and has to stop batting.
4:16 partially correct, as a batsman you kind of have to try to defend the wickets but when you do that with your body in the way, you run the risk of the ball hitting your leg. So if you miss the shot and it hits your leg while it's in the way of the ball's trajectory towards the wickets, that's an out! (LBW - leg before/by wicket). 4:24 in this next one too, the ball hit his leg and it's in line with the wicket clearly so everyone saw that without needing a review. 5:00 either the overs get finished or your entire batting line up (10 players) gets out, whichever comes first If the ball's trajectory was moving outwards diagonally then a review would show whether the ball would've hit the stumps (had the leg not been inn the way) or not.
4:11 that thing is called leg before wicket. it means that ball did not hit the bat and was about to directly smash into wickets but batters leg came between the trajectory of ball. it is a wrong move by batter so he was given out. now there are more complication to this but that was the basic meaning
5th wicket is LBW out, which means Leg Before Wicket. If the ball is pitched in a middle or off side of the pitch, and the ball is supposed to hit the stump, but the ball hits the batsman leg. That's out.
8:03 every team have 10 wickets ( 5/6 batesman & 5/6 bowlers or 1/2 all rounder) When 10 wickets are gone it's means all out one team It's can happened under 20 overs ...it's means you are all wickets Love from India 🇮🇳
8:17 it matters because you could be all out before 20 overs if your batting collapes. Or you are losing batsman means your run rate will become low because of the new batsman having pressure
8:02 - Wickets are important across all formats of cricket. You have 10 of them. Number of wickets signifies how many batsmen you have lost. if you lose all 10 of them, your innings is over. Doesnt matter if number of overs alloted are finished or not.
5:06 In T20 Batting Team has 20 overs to bat and bowling team try to limit runs or take wickets. Wicket mean that batsman is out, he can't bat anymore in the match. Because a team has 11 players bowling team has to take 10 wickets. In ODI team has 50 overs to bat. In Test they have 5 days and unlimited overs to bat.
7:22 “it’s gonna be tight!” Boy was it tight! Also, just a little cheat sheet - A) 1 over = 6 balls. If you see 1.4 overs on your screen it means that the first over has been completed, the second over is currently in progress and 4 deliveries (also referred to as balls) have been bowled (therefore, 2 more balls remaining in that over). B) Generally, a good score depends on the conditions of the pitch and the weather conditions too. If it favours the bowlers, a score of 120+ is good enough to defend. If it favours the bowlers, then even 220 might not be enough. C) Every team has 11 players on their side. No substitutions allowed in international cricket (except for a fielder but that sub cannot bat/bowl). Generally, the first 5-7 players are good batsmen. The remaining players are called the tailenders (these are good bowlers). Some players are decent at both batting and bowling and are called all rounders. D) The 5th wicket was called LBW or leg before wicket. You can check any RUclips video on that but it was introduced to remove passive batting practices. Batsmen would not play a shot rather block the ball with their legs to tire out the bowlers. E) Wide (when a ball is bowled beyond the reasonable reach of a batter), No ball (when a bowler oversteps the mark when delivering a ball or the ball reaches the batsman above waist-height without pitching), leg byes (when a ball hits the leg of the batsman and they get runs, the runs are given to the team but the batsman’s score remains the same), byes (same as leg byes, except here the ball touches some other part or no part of the batter) are all considered ‘extras’ F) A no ball is followed by a ‘Free hit’. A batsman cannot get out on a free hit except for a run out. Also, even when a ball is a no ball a batsman will not be given out except for a run out. Hope this help! Let me know in case of any questions
Score is the most important thing here. Thing with wickets is specialist batters will be batting upfront and when you loose those specialist batters and less talented batters come to bat it’s difficult to score..so when wickets fall scoring rate and ultimately the final score could be less. Also each team has only 10 wickets..if you loose all 10 before the 20 over mark they won’t be able to bat anymore and that score would be there final score..so wickets also matter but the most important thing is to get maximum runs..
4:05 he got Leg Befored out...means his legs came in front of the wicket.... that is if his legs werent their the ball would have hit the wicket... this is very important because if this rule wasnt their players would have just stood in front of wickets to save them....this rule is to prevent these malpractises...
3:55 Thats a law in cricket known as leg before wicket (LBW). As the name suggests if you miss a bowl and it hits your legs, if the umpire perceives that the bowl will hit the wickets if the leg wasnt there, thats judged out😊
5th wicket is leg before wicket............you guessed it right .....if batsman fails to make contact with the ball with bath...and ball is heading towards the wicket...then umpire judges that whether ball is heading towards the stumps

4:10 you're correct but the official term is "leg before wicket" (lbw)
It's worth noting that even though it's called "leg" before wicket actually any part of your body will do (except hands, considered part of the bat), as long as the ball could have hit the wicket. If you duck down to avoid a bouncer and get hit in the head, you can still be out lbw.

I see plenty of people have explained that wickets do still matter in T20. I will just point out that when they put "Team need x from y balls," x means the amount of runs needed to win. So in the USA's final ball of their inning the score said "USA need 5 from 1 ball." The batter hit a 4 point boundary which tied it to send it to the Super Over
Yeah dude.

Appreciate the comment! Have fun at those games. I’ll definitely keep up with the sport even if it never reaches the level of football for me

You take one wicket means the opponents have lost a batsman...so a wicket is huge
BIG congratulations to team USA and all the American fans on this HUGE upset!
This is just the beginning!
1. Teams take turns batting
2. The second team needs to match/ surpass the points scored by the first batting team
3. By catching a ball you remove a player from the game
4. When all players are removed their turn ends even if there are still pitches to be played
5. So basically you need to score as many points while also not getting your players/ wickets taken out
Did I get the general idea behind the rules/ game play of cricket
4:13 ..LBW - LEG BEFORE WICKET
When you guard the wicket umpire can out against you
Love from India 🇮🇳
No. Of wickets matter for 2 reasons: first, if a 10 batters are out before finishing 20 overs than can’t bat the remaining overs. They are called 'all out'
Second, usually persons come to bat after 6/7 wicket are mainly bowlers. That means they may not be as efficient as a batter like their predecessors. So, taking more wicket means you are exposing your opponents weak batters (who are mainly bowlers)
So, statistically wicket don’t matter much unless a team gets 10 wickets of the opponent.
Good for you for you to go outside your comfort zone vidoes. Hopefully you liked the way it rewarded. New subscriber man. Good stuff
9:08
USA required 5 runs from 1 legitimate ball.
The Batsman score a Boundary NOT SIX.
A boundary means 4 runs not 6.
6 means when the ball directly landed over the rope/ boundaries.
4 when the ball either roles through boundary or just bounced one or multiple times inside the rope.
So that was 4 runs
Which means both team scored exactly same runs.
159 in this case.
So in this case which teams lost how many wickets doesn't matter.
Just like in Football
If scores are level, we have penalty shootout, here in cricket we have Super Over.
Ye mota has chuke ko bhi chhakka kahe jaa raha hai.
- 3 Strikes == Once ball hits the batter stumps / wickets
- Block wicket = LBW ( Leg before wicket )
- Catch Out (same, in cricket whole body counts)
- baserunner tagged Out == Run Out batter or runner
- HomeRun == Ball goes to boundary touching ground = 4 runs , without = 6 runs
If he hadn't blocked, the ball would have hit the stumps.
Sorry to hear you got bullied mate. No place for that kind of behaviour. Thanks for your cricket reactions, God bless

There are 11 players in a team.
It's not an upset bro,if pakistan won then I could be upset for USA🤣😂🤣
NXT HIGH VOLTAGE MATCH INDA VS PAKISTAN 💥💥💥🥶🥶😱😱😱
So basically the 6th wicket is called an lbw or leg-before-wicket in full. If the umpire thinks that the ball has hit the leg before the bat and the path was towards the stumps, they are out.

3:53 for the 5th wicket it was a LBW (leg before wicket). So the bat did not touch the ball and the ball's impact is in-line. What that means is that the only thing between the wicket and the ball is the batsman's leg (the batsman failed to defend the wicket) so he is out.

If batsman unable to hit the ball from bat and the ball touch down the leg and it Suppose to be hit on the wicket if he leaves then it is up to the umpire whether he wants to give a out or not.
Good question if batsman leave the ball and it doesn't hit the stumps then not out if it hit the stump it become out..

It's almost equivalent to USA beating Colombia back in the 1994 Soccer World Cup, an upset that cost the life of Andres Escobar.
Wickets put pressure on batting teams
it's sooo good to see when i see some American understanding cricket you're truly understanding cricket now!!🫡

Its either 10 wickets or 20 overs for a team, whichever comes first
8:17 so basically every team has11 players with atleast 5 bowlers to bowl 4 overs each to complete 20 overs.
When you realise that half team is of Indian origin players...
6:17 super over means ..when both team scores are level..then 1 over (6 ball) match ..
Then winner disided ...

You should react to the 2022 India vs Pakistan match's last 2 overs or last 8 balls. It's crazy good with the current best batsman in cricket.
The 5th wicket for Pakistan was called an LBW. It’s when the ball misses the bat and hits their leg first and the ball was going to hit the stumps
5:00 either the overs get finished or your entire batting line up (10 players) gets out, whichever comes first
If the ball's trajectory was moving outwards diagonally then a review would show whether the ball would've hit the stumps (had the leg not been inn the way) or not.
Bro is mixing six and four 😂😂😂
4:11 that thing is called leg before wicket. it means that ball did not hit the bat and was about to directly smash into wickets but batters leg came between the trajectory of ball. it is a wrong move by batter so he was given out. now there are more complication to this but that was the basic meaning
5th wicket is LBW out, which means Leg Before Wicket. If the ball is pitched in a middle or off side of the pitch, and the ball is supposed to hit the stump, but the ball hits the batsman leg. That's out.
8:03 every team have 10 wickets ( 5/6 batesman & 5/6 bowlers or 1/2 all rounder)
When 10 wickets are gone it's means all out one team
It's can happened under 20 overs ...it's means you are all wickets

Also, just a little cheat sheet -
A) 1 over = 6 balls.
E) Wide (when a ball is bowled beyond the reasonable reach of a batter), No ball (when a bowler oversteps the mark when delivering a ball or the ball reaches the batsman above waist-height without pitching), leg byes (when a ball hits the leg of the batsman and they get runs, the runs are given to the team but the batsman’s score remains the same), byes (same as leg byes, except here the ball touches some other part or no part of the batter) are all considered ‘extras’
F) A no ball is followed by a ‘Free hit’. A batsman cannot get out on a free hit except for a run out. Also, even when a ball is a no ball a batsman will not be given out except for a run out.
Hope this help! Let me know in case of any questions
You did a good job. Looking forward to more cricket podcasts from you.
8:12 wickets matter every team have 10 wickets
Pakistan loss 7 wickets /out of 10
USA loss 3 wickets/ out of 10

Score is the most important thing here. Thing with wickets is specialist batters will be batting upfront and when you loose those specialist batters and less talented batters come to bat it’s difficult to score..so when wickets fall scoring rate and ultimately the final score could be less. Also each team has only 10 wickets..if you loose all 10 before the 20 over mark they won’t be able to bat anymore and that score would be there final score..so wickets also matter but the most important thing is to get maximum runs..
4:14 yeah he was blocking the wicket .and if the bowl is going to hit the wicket and his body blocked it..... its OUT
4:05 he got Leg Befored out...means his legs came in front of the wicket....
that is if his legs werent their the ball would have hit the wicket...
this is very important because if this rule wasnt their players would have just stood in front of wickets to save them....this rule is to prevent these malpractises...
5th wicket is called lbw(leg before wicket). Lbw rule means a batsman can't block a bowler from bowling into the stumps
