@@floatastic_bruhThey're not really friends, more like trusted allies. Plus, I wouldn't expect to see Akiyama again after this - Koichi Yamadera is way too busy/expensive. It's theorised Nick Ogata in RGG7 was meant to be Akiyama, but there was apparently some sort of issue with Yamadera. Around the same time, RGG didn't include Akiyama's songs on Spotify as a result.
You can hear the autotune a little bit, but in the sad songs you can actually hear the autotune less on Yong's karaoke compared to the songs like Judgement or Pride from Despair where they drown his vocal chords in autotune. It really helps us hear the singing voice he used for Kiryu. The karaoke isn't bad, what *is* really bad though is the idiot developer(s) that decided to ruin the English dub karaoke with harsh autotune and probably got away with it.
Yeah I do music production and you can clearly tell they fucked it with the autotune. I really don't know why, as even the English VAs who did karaoke in 7 and were considered to have done a good job had the fuck autotuned out of them in 8 when they returned. Robbie Daymond's rendition of If I Could Love the One I Love being especially obvious with the gap of "how bad it is thanks to production" to "how good the singer could've obviously done it".
i feel like he couldve made his voice a little softer due to him regretting leaving behind his simple life, without autotune woulda made it good, but its not bad.
I think some of the dub singing issues could have been solved with more time and practice. They had quite a long time (and apparently a big Xbox-funded budget) for Like A Dragon's dub, but now they have to scramble to do the same amount of work in less time as Sega decided to simultaneously ship the games worldwide
This is absolutely the best of the English karaoke tracks, it's a shame the producers kinda fucked everything with autotune in English aside from maybe Saeko's AWAKE. Since everything in 7 was good in English there was really no reason for it...
Yeah the fact they never do full spec versions for the English versions like they do for Japan sucks, but at the same time I’ll take where we are now over going back to the days of the songs not even being translated in a way that you can actually sing to the same melody
@@Mr_ink.Well, they only do the full versions to sell on the soundtrack in Japan, since there's a market for known voice actors singing there. Plus, I bet the localisers were already tearing out their hair at having to do the entirety of Hands.
This is one the few en dubs that doesn't get destroyed by terrible auto tune, zhaos song, this one, chitoses, and im sure others are great examples of little to no use of auto tune
Yong Yea was on key through the whole song, and this isn't one of the songs that has auto tune in it. And while Yong Yea isn't perfect, maybe you need to remember a real gamer is respectful of other gamers' opinions. Otherwise, you are just an egotist who plays video games. It's valid to not like this version. It's ok. I like it, and I still value your opinion. So maybe take a step back and look at what you are right now.

Looking at your exam paper to see a bad grade be like:
The only thing that made me cry is the fact that there is no Akiyama in sight
They did akiyama so dirty in this game, there's still the life link, but not including him in the soul friends scene was a crime

Don't forget tanimura and shinada
Ikr
Tanimura and Shinada aren’t really Kiryu’s friends, I love them both but like.. Kiryu barely spoke to tanimura and even less so with Shinada

if they were gonna do autotune they shoulda just let t-pain voice Kiryu for the dub

honestly the english cover of this song is utterly fantastic for what it is

the lyrics are actually pretty good
Like a Dragon: Infinite Autotune
Judgement is way more autotuned but still his voice don't fit kiryu at all
I can't tell if it's autotune or if his voice actually sounds like that, either way it's not great.
he does surprisingly well in this song

What a damn pretty song.
Honestly he does a great job on this.
He may have shat the bed with judgement but at least he did well here
He did fine with judgement IMO, the mixers just decided to beat it with hammers I guess.
I wish there was a english full spec
For real dude. I could go for hours listening to Yong's Sayonara Silent Love from Gaidens dub.

is Kiryu-san... crying?
Play the ending of The man who erased his name - that's when you really see Kiryu crying (while you emotionally get gut punched by the game)
As soon as it showed nishiki I burst out into tears
The lyrics reminded my of my late dog, as even though I have a cat and another dog now he'll never be replaced in my heart.

its a banger
Why we didn’t get a second verse is criminal
He really don't do this song justice.
Yea I mean there's technically nothing wrong with his singing, just feels like the emotions have gone away and he's reading a takeout menu instead
Well that and it sounds extremely young for an aging man with grey hair battling cancer.

People seems like english dub karaoke. But most of the songs has awful autotune at some parts, that completely kills the song for me on english.
I relate too much to this,😢
is this the exact literary translation?
No
An exact translation couldn't be sung in time.
It was nice of T-Pain to lend his vocals for this
