Just want to point out, i’d recommend using a harness bar if you’re using the 4pt harnessed. saves your back from injury of it pulling down, rather than pulling rearward incase of sudden stop. Deadly ride otherwise!
26:00: If Joy and Terror had a child. This would have been its face
BEAUTIFUL Camaro build, my man. One of my favorite models of Cam and you did it right. Congrats!
Down to earth descriptions for a LS swap. Easy to understand.
My 69 Camaro has the LS2 /T56 out of a GTO, no way i would go back to a old small block. The DSE subframe and quadralink makes mine fun to drive long distances. Your Camaro sounds great!. I enjoy your videos very well made.
I would love to do a DSE setup one day. I have only heard great things.
I miss my 68 so much. You did an amazing job on this fabulous machine. The exaust sounds beautiful(Sweet thumping, good duration, sounds like heaven!!!).I love the seats(sweet).I salute you bro,as you did an awesome job.I wish I could feel that rush again!!! There is nothing sweeter than a 4spd trans.MUNCIE,rock crusher=killer!!!
You have built my dream 69 Camaro, hugger orange, hooky stripes, LS3 swap. damn sounds amazing.
Cool video man. I LS swapped my 66 Tempest with a LQ4 on my channel they pretty good motors. I’ve put a ton of smiles per gallon on that car.
Already shared it on my Facebook.
Keep on putting out the quality 🤠
Pumped to find your videos! A 1st-Gen LS Swap is exactly what’s on my mind..: thank you!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Happy to help!
That means a lot - thank you and I will!
Very cool. I had a 1967 Camaro back in the 80's and what you're doing to yours is what I dreamed of doing to mine. 👍🏼
I finally got my dream car a few months ago, a 68 Camaro. If you have an Instagram account, I’ll dm you some videos/pics
More into your motorcycle videos, but daaaamn!! That thing sounds amazing and hauls ass to boot!
I’ve seen adapters that let you run old sbc valve covers on a ls. They would probably look good
That makes the hair on my back standup! Awesome!
Love it !
Suggestion...swap to a big block heater core and fan box. Give a cleaner routing and keeps the hoses out of the way.
I have a 69 RS/SS 454 and after I blew the head gasket thought about doing an LS3 swap but it was easier just going with a GM ZZ454 since it bolted right up to the 4 speed automatic.
Now I wish I would have done the LS3 swap after watching a few LS swap video's. Big block hard to keep cool in the summer time in AZ. Nice ride !!
Very nice job on the video. I swapped a LS3 427 into my 69 and love it. But Iam running an 850 carb set up for now and not quite happy with the tune yet. Thanks for the detail on your build.
ro Go anyway you could come up with a parts list needed to get the Ls3 in there ?
This is awesome. What you described in terms of ability to just hop in and drive and not have to worry is exactly what I would want. Sounds friggin amazing. Oh mannnn that thing pullsssss lol. Unreal.
Very interesting, tons of details when doing something major like an engine swap. But rounding into shape nicely, sounds mean and evil, runs pretty damn good. Impressive since just you working it, no lift. Keep it going
New to your channel and I really like it!...basically straight to the point with no BS...thanks! BTW..i really don't care for camaros but yours is REALLY NICE and I do like it...Sounds AWESOME...lol!!....
Love your car, love your show. I got a 408 that does just the opposite on a warm restart. I need to get it into my 68, thanks for the motivation, along with all the info. Texan is a plus as well. Thanks.
Looks (and sounds!!!!!!!) killer! Great job Taylor!
Awesome video man I think I'm going to do the same thing buy a GTO and drive it for a bit and when I'm ready just transfer everything. I totally dig your approach.
Dude, that thing is totally BaddAss! I like the engine covers better than the junk under them.
I’m surprised there are no comments from any tuners here but I guess they want $ for their secrets. The car is awesome. I’ve had 1 1st Gen Camaro, a 1968 Z/28 I drove while in College in ‘74 and have had several 2nd Gen’s including new Z’s I ordered new in 77,78 and 80. My current Z/28 is a 1970 which I bought from the orig owner in 1981. All Z’s were/are 4 speeds.
..i had the same idle problem when the parts store gave me a new idle air control for the Wrong Year.. swapped in a New Standard Products for the Right Year from a Different Parts store, everything worked Fine after that..
Sounds badass man. Seems to move fairly good too 👍👍
Sounds like a monster at full throttle! Congrats!
Hey just subbed! Noticed your a fellow austinite! I'm also working on a classic ls swap!
Just go oval tube for the section that is hanging low, bam more ground clearance. 😉
That's a good idea. Any idea how tall 3" oval tube is?
Paint the engine cover orange and white to match the car
Thinking about an LS swap too for my 67 Camaro. The 350 sb I put in like 18 years ago is showing its age. Need a to educate myself a bit more though on the swap.
Haha, yeah the face of joy. Brilliant.
And now I know what colour scheme to give my Honda cb650z. Orange with the white stripe of course....i recon it will work. 😆
Absolutely loving all the content, but this car is what got me subbing to your channel a couple years ago. Sounds awesome and makes me wish mine were a lot further along. Keep it up man! You've got one hell of a keeper there! BTW, I was saying the same things you were when you did your pulls.
Definitely want to know how much power she's making now.
Thanks! I hope to get it on a dyno soon. Hoping for 400+ RWHP
@@ClassicOctane okay then that begs the question of how fast it was going on those pulls (I. E. 0-60, speed you were hitting that quickly, etc). I ask because I'm considering going with the crate LS376/480 (the 495hp one) but I don't want to have something completely uncontrollable or outrageous.
Thrilling, Taylor! 👍
Just get a center console out of a 2010 - 2015 Camaro. That's what I have in my 68 Camaro and it looks like it came factory with it.
Nice, I will have to check that out.
Can't wait to see more of this project! Love the Camaro man!
What would you like to see? I want to get it on a dyno, autocross, and drag race it for sure.
Thumbs up! A1 content! Absolutely love the car. I understand the satisfaction that such a car can bring. I still have a few of my own, but they're not in nearly the condition of your car. lol. Maybe someday. Thanks for letting us see such a fine example of a dream come true.
I’m putting an LS7 in 2007 Impala ss
Sounds great man, looks to pull pretty good too! Great work
That’s a beautiful car!!!! Great build!!!
that thing sounds badass, job well done!
Love the video. I built a hot rod 69 camaro in 1969 with 427 side pipes. When I retired in 2010 I built the exact car hugger orange with hockey stick stripe but this time with hot rodded 350 appox 400hp with 427 side exhaust (of course) 4 speed m22 and 373 rear. Thinking about changing now as I have 10 yeras and 10k mi on it to an LS swap but I dont want to change anything else? any suggestions? Again love the car. its sounds exactly like my 08 z06!
Paint them orange and white......oh and good idea with the cost hanger trick
Fudgesickle, that thing rips!!!
I would have put a big block in it but I like how it turned out great job
I'm guessing nobody seen the spark under the bottom when it fired up? Starter drag?
that baby sounds sweet when it gets up in the upper rpm
Now some may get a little fudge out of computer games, but you show them how to go put and get the full fudgesickle!
sweet LS swap, just where do you find the time to play in your garage? I'm smoked after a 50hr work week...
Beautiful Camera, that's an Indian word for this thing drinks to much gas!!! L.O.L. Very nice thanks for the ride Awesome$$$$$
Cut the metal pipe shorter that might help the angle to level it with the radiator
Great work man, such a cool car. First time hearing you swear when you gave it a stab
Couldn’t help myself 😁
@@ClassicOctane I don’t blame you
Love it. I'm absolutely jealous. My dream car.
Great video and insight i would love to know what your seat belt setup is 😁
If the GTO could roll it's eyes, cross it's arms and take a frustrating deep breath I think I would. But that's ok. totally worth it Taylor . When will we see more videos if the Camaro this is the second time I have watched the Camaro playlist . And I don't understand why you have so little subscribers
I have a few projects lined up for it soon. I want to make it a bigger part of the channel. Thanks for watching!
@@ClassicOctane sounds good looking forward to any content . I'm almost done rebuilding a Yamaha rd 400
Okay I'm a new subscriber and I may have come up with a solution for your low point in your exhaust what if you got a hold of some oval / oblong exhaust tips two for each side and you welded them together at the oval / oblong ends that way you would have 3 in coming in and 3 inch going out you see what I'm saying here buy welding the two oval / oblong ends together you would create a flat spot without restricting your exhaust like if you reduced it to a 2in pipe
That car sounds great.
That was an awsome ride.
turned out awesome, the exhaust is perfect, I have a 55 chevy pickup I want to do a LS swap can't wait, I have a 2001 Tahoe I bought new thinking of using everything from it, and then parting the rest out, mustly because even though its in perfect condition its only worth 3-4k, what do you think, thanks
Keep covers but paint either a more natural aluminum color or maybe the zinc? Color that the brake booster is?
nice build what oil pan did you use
On the plastic covers, I wonder if the fender Camaro emblems would fit in that black area?
great job i hope mine works as good. I am into the gas mileage i like to drive.
Man I was right there with you for that 2nd gear pull!
Nice!
I need to ls swap my 05 cadi!
this was fantastic!
Wicked Camaro runs nice
I have a 69 SS Camaro (mine has the black Z28 Stripes) I built from a shell, I’ve been following your build and would love to drop in an LS motor in mine. How much hp do you figure that LS1 is putting, it’s a screamer!
Do you know the paint code of your car thanks
I have a LS 5.3 in my 69 Camaro. How did you get the motor to sit that low in the engine bay?
Ditch the GTO engine covers or paint them orange.
I have the front carpet for sale, if your interested. It’s from ACC
I want one of these so bad
What did you use for the fuel system?
Tanks inc efi tank, Walbro 400 LPH pump, C5 corvette fuel filter/regulator, -6 AN line to the rail.
Classic Octane I’m building a 68 firebird I appreciate the help
Which other mufflers were you considering? Trying to decide between the atak's and hooker vr304's.
I went with the Atak. They sound awesome but are very loud. If this was my daily I would have picked something more mild.
Nice!! How did you mount the radiator? Ty
Wow.. just the sound makes me happy. How did it go with the "wife test " ? 😄🚕
Do you build engines for a living
That battery though 😂
The exhaust sounds like a race engine damn....
Great job!!!
HOW MUCH HAS IT COAST U TO DO THIS SWAP , FROM HAVING THE GTO MOTOR COAST TILL NOW? THINKING OF DOING A LS SWAP IN MY 1969 CAMARO I HAVE A355 RIGHT NOW BUT WOULD HAVE TO START FROM SCRATCH AS I HAVE NOTHING BUT A CARB MOTOR AS OF NOW.
I stopped counting for my own sanity but I would budget for 10k+ by the time the dust settles.
Those the riddler wheels?
What mufflers you using?
Sweet.
What do you do for a living?
How did you wire up the alternator I'm doing a similar set up and having Trouble finding Information on how to wire it up
Painless wiring makes a plug and resistor kit (amzn.to/2JO4WWk). You basically just wire in a key on power to the two wires with one of the wires having the resistor in it.
Hey man I'm am doing same swap can you please give part number on radiator
You have the same wheels as i do!
How much power are you putting out?
I haven't dyno'd it yet but other cars with the same setup are right around 400 RWHP.
Love itour buy from you
Needs frame connectors
Vroom vroom 🤘
Nice i want to do this to a 69 Camaro convertible.
I have a 69 clone SS, dreaming of doing something like this with mine
What did you use for radiator brackets?
Did you ever get a reply on this?
She looks like she pulls hard, is the ls3 the 6 liter 400 horse?
Jeff Ebinger LS3 is the corvette 6.2. You can build a 6.0 to LS3 specs
This is an LS1 out of an 04 GTO. They went to the LS2 in 2005.
For the occasional viewer, you might explain exactly what you mean when you say, "The LS swap." Other than that, way cool!
It just means you swap the original engine out for a LS engine which is a very stout GM engine that can hold 800 to 1,000 hp with a stock bottom end. All of the Chevrolet and GMC v8 motors are LS engines such as the trucks, camaros, corvettes, etc.
Good deal cheers
