Great battle report, I’m excited to continue seeing your content in the new edition! I want to give a special thank you to Blayne for a brutal education on Novitiates in game 5 of LVO (against my Legionaries). Luckily I have Sammy in my club to help me prep for future games against the nuns, because that took me by surprise!
Well played and thanks for uploading! I know this is probably dated and your first time with Starstriders so some quick tips. Note im not an ultra pro but ive been to 2 tourneys and done well enough to win prizes so call me intermediate skilled. Equipment choices - i tend to pick 6 equipment most games esp on volkus. against pathfinders i would have dropped the ammo cache and taken Armour upgrade (watch the game and see how many times a 4+ would have saved you. Ie void master from sniper). I know pathfinders can ignore obscuring but spam them smoke grenades tp 1/2 if you need. I also like 2x krak as it makes gives you the possibility of a void master/ Voids man ceaseless krak grenade. Also gives your assasin a great ranged weapon when using lethal proximity. Ploys wise - lethal proximity is one of my key ploys. Chances are your shooting close range with key models like void master so it makes sense to buff them. Its also key to unlock ceaseless on your team. Ie Voidsmaster aura or even Elucia Another fun thing is stacking auras. I often use portable barricades with Electro with the dog nearby and maybe even the medic. He becomes a menace on the middle point that way. GG regardless and hope to see more Starstriders soon!
Do you have a favourite tac op? Could you expand on the master at Void Master/Voidsman grenade & ceaseless thinking? I'm just getting going on Starstriders journey!
@alexd7713 ayy welcome to the club! They are a blast, spaceship shooting pun intended. Tac ops wise i rotate between these Kill confirm - only against elites / melee teams that come to you. Its too easy to be denied IE you stand on 2 tokens ready for points. Someone charges you and you can't score em Contain - generally a solid choice against most teams. You have strong counter punches (ship weapons, assassin, and electro) to take care of melee threats. This forces them to move ranged units into riskier positions. Note this is easy to deny so don't expect to max this out. Secure Ground - by far the best choice for Volkus but this is super map dependent. The maps where strongholds are in both halves of the board makes it super easy. Stack a good amount of your guys outside the stronghold tp 1. Tp 2 get in there. I like to do GA2 with void master and navis first activation. Get em in stronghold and call the ship down on anyone on the ground floor with lethal 5+ Plant Beacon - this im mixed on. In ITD its great cause you can cheese the whole 6in distance with walls/ doors. On non ITD its good but requires alot of forward thinking / costs valuable apl. Big benefit of this is that its hard for enemies to deny you... Except by just killing all your guys. Lmk if you have any other questions and other Starstriders feel free to chip in. Edit didn't touch on VM / Navi combo. If you have lethal proximity a Navi can throw Krak grenades as ceaseless near VM. So GA 2 them with firefight ploy and go nuts
you got the high intensity / analyze interaction right. high intensity puts double marker on the selected operative. analyze puts 1 marker on each guy within 3" of the selected operative. it doesn't also select those operatives. but something to which i wasn't paying attention - did pathfinders art of war more than once that game? i thought i heard something about them getting +1" more than once. it's a once per battle ability. also the camera hates the nemesis claw dice it is very hard to quickly see the results on dice cam. probably banish those from recorded games.
Art of War was only used the one time in TP3. Thank you for the input on the dice! We will hopefully have channel dice soon and in the meantime we will switch to something else. Though you may see them in another video yet. -Brett
Thanks for the content! New player to KT24 and been searching for Tau gameplay, love it
