Watching a lot of crossover vids lately and I’m realizing Anacs is a solid coin grading company. I sent twenty coins to Anacs. Excitedly waiting for them to return to me. Good vid.
So that is why I use ANACS!! PCGS is no better ,they just have the better reputation. Videos like yours and others I've seen are bringing ANACS back to a higher standing in the grading companies.
It went well. I currently have 30 coins at ANACS. I took advantage of that US coin special they had in August for $10 per coin. when I get them back, We’ll have some fun
I’ve gotten many ANACS coins that are absolutely stunning and significantly less expensive than same grade coins in PCGS or NGC holders. Most of which are very accurately or possibly conservatively graded; as you’ve found yours to be. Your XF to VF looks like it could’ve gone either way. Great VF, slider XF. Five months is ridiculous. If you’re flipping coins from eBay, you literally can have them graded and returned from ANACS before the return window closes on eBay. I see nothing wrong and everything right about what ANACS is doing in this market. I ALWAYS have my eyes open for great ANACS coins. Many diamonds in the rough!!! Great video. New subscriber. Thanks.
Thumb's up. Thank you, as this is excellent information. Question pls: W/the one "downgrade", did you set the "crossover minimum grade" below the current grade? Without that, it was my understanding that PCGS would not have crossed it to their holder (when they grade it LOWER) than what is in its holder? Also, five months, wow...would you suggest using their "faster" service? (I think they have an upgraded service, without having to go to their "express" service)? Thank you again.
All good crosses so far... did you send these in still in their Anacs slabs or cracked out? Man good overall results to me! That's promising. Subscribed man, good stuff... I'm having a good experience with Anacs so far... Good stuff man, thanks for sharing!
Great coins. I used ANACS September special got 10 mogans graded for $160 total got them back in 1 month. I may use PCGS and NGC for resale coins but ANACS coins stay in my collection
@texasjoe557 I honestly believe that ANACS is overcoming the obstacles created for them from the Amos and then the Anderson Press years(had some notable inconsistency in those blue holders) and their grading is at the very least on par with PCGS & NGC. It is yet to be seen how CACG impacts the market, but they seem very exclusive in who they allow to submit. As a collector the plastic that a coin is in doesn’t amount to a hill of beans to me! I judge the coin solely on its merits and utilize the old Brown & Dunn along with the old ANA Standards to grade a coin. This allows me the opportunity to cherry-pick every piece of plastic out there along with raw coins with a greater level of consistency. I sure am seeing a ton of positive feedback all over the interwebs regarding ANACS lately which I believe is well deserved. Aside from the yellow inserts I find them to be more customer oriented, cost effective and equally accurate based on current market grading standards. Even though I am no dealer, the aforementioned statement seems like the foundation for good business practices overall… Just a nobody’s opinion on the topic.
While both services are highly respected and offer a guarantee of authenticity, PCGS is generally considered to be the industry standard for grading rare and valuable coins.
Worked out well. Those 5 coins went to anacs, total cost was $135 with shipping to and fro (45 day turnaround) . $300 to pcgs with shipping to and fro (150 day turnaround).
Those are some real beauties Texas Joe. This may be in impolite question but from a monetary standpoint was it worth it? Has it increased the resale value enough to offset the grading fees? and for what it's worth because this is just a guess on my part, but I suspect there is a shorter wait time for the big boys in the coin world for grading service. Thank you for showing us buddy.
I think it's a good question. What have I accomplished? All I have done is doubled my costs. On paper I am ahead, but to realize the gains I have to sell. If you're a straight collector, save your money. If you're retired and are looking to entertain yourself, and like the learning experience and can afford it, --- then go for it.
I do give credit to anacs. For the most part they are very conservative. Although they can overgrade some moderns. Example= early release west point quarters
You do know that you can send the coin in it's original case and ask for crossover. If it does not make the grade they will send back instead of breaking it out and regrading lower.
Joe, nice reveal on the submission and good discussion. I think that was the right call on the 1857-O at VF35. Nice coins, and my favorite era as well. Stay cool.
Thank you Eric. It’s Texas so there is no use in complaining. No rain here in a while, none forecast in the next 10 days. huge dome of high pressure and low humidities causing air to warm more quickly. Be well.
@@texasjoe557 Not with me. I can generally get a way better deal buying IGC or ANACS graded coins compared to PCGS or NGC. I think they talk the talk but don’t walk the walk for profits sake. Anacs has a special right now, it’s on my community page. 10 bucks a coin with a 14 coin minimum. you cannot beat that anywhere and they’re good with a 4-6 week turnaround. dream deal

Hi Texas Joe! Wow, those coins crossed nicely! I've always been a little afraid they wouldn't cross so well from ANACS to PCGS. 😎
Loud expletive!!!

Awesome
Bad Holder too.. Why I said that ? You do not SEE the Whole Rim and edges of the Coin because of 3 large Ears holding the 3 parts of the Rim..
Great points!
Damn dude great lot! Love those older bust and seated halves.
Great Submissions my friend for cross over. I often see upgrades. Stinks it takes so long to get them back.

I never crack them out unless they are going to NGC which requires it and will not accept crossovers from ANACS - Caveat : when they straight grade
Coin has a" $70 value" you paid $60 for the crossover. Shrewd business deal.
Ah yes, the negotiator
all of those coins were worth well over 70 but yes, your point is a good one -
Nowadays it's cheaper to buy 100$ or under coins in holders. Unless you have high end coins if your into making profits it's very difficult

Interesting to see the grades from two different companies. You have some beautiful coins you sent in. Good to see them all in PCGS slabs now.

You can send the whole to PCGS for future reference. However if you submit to NGC they only except PCGS slabs outside their own
