You can’t claim to be New Yorker without knowing this recipe. Ok maybe you can if you don’t have Italian friends but still. This is a must. A rite of passage. Good job. Bravo.
I would say it’s more of a north east thing near the coast. I moved to the South and this dish is sort of foreign to many people since Italian American food is not as prominent
Love your videos. I grew up in NJ and worked at a pizzeria for 10+ years. Now I'm in Denver and most of that food is nowhere to be found. These are the recipes that bring me home. Thanks for making them.
Yo this is my guy. Whenever I wanna cook something I check and see if he’s posted it first then I go and cook. He’s the man ngl. I’m from Jersey too so I know Nj, n Ny brothers.
Im drooling! So delicious looking and thanks for making a simplified version of what others can make more complicated than it needs to be. Much appreciated!
as soon as I start watching I have to head straight for the kitchen to see if I have the ingredients, your videos are soooo good thank you for sharing :)
I've been going through your versions of rustic Italian recipes daily since I discovered your site a few days ago. Really appreciate everything I have seen . Thanks
I just made your Sunday sauce two days ago so it had time to cook and than made this recipe last night. OMG....it was amazing and so easy, my two favorite things with a good recipe. I invited my friend over last night who is quite a good cook herself and she said that it would give any restaurant in the area a run for it's money. I love your series and can't wait to make more and more of your great recipes. Keep them coming! Your newest fan.
You sir are not only an amazing cook but a great teacher! I am making this tonight and it will be my fifth of your recipes! The other four were amazing. I’m sure this will be too. I am using your marinara with the San marzano tomatoes. Running short on time. Keep up the amazing work!!
Always on the hunt for good Italian-American recipes. Live in Denver, wax nostalgic for my North Jersey roots and my Gramma's cooking. Feels like home, thank you.
I made your recipe today. OMG it was so good!!! i looked at other's recipe but I chose yours and I'm glad I did. I have to check out your Sunday Sauce although I make a good sauce.
Love your recipes. Reminds me of Sunday dinner at my Grandparents when I was growing up. I'm going to make this recipe for a progessive dinner this weekend.
I’ll have to try this, I wasn’t a fan of the last baked ziti recipe I tried, this one looks much better and I’ve absolutely loved the other recipes you’ve made.
It is 7:47am I’m having my morning black coffee. Have not had breakfast and watching your video of this wonderful ziti pasta. I’m trying to eat well for the most part and lose some weight. Problem is I LOVE pasta one of my favorite dishes. I’m Latina so I love to cook. Your one of my fav’s. I’d say #1 on my list. I am salivating watching you prep this wonderful dish. I wanna cry I can just imagine tasting it. Yet not a reality at this point. Will make soon. TY for sharing sir. I absolutely have to make my own Sunday sauce will check your recipe. Keep ‘em coming. 👏🏼🙌🏼👍🏼🥹😋😛
I just made this it looks amazing. This baked ziti also tasted great.I used four cheese also, I buy parmigiana ragiano, and pecorino romano and grate it myself. I have a suggestion lasagna, it’s a layering dish completely. Thanks
Oh, boy, another "gotta try this one!" recipe! I love pasta with just butter and olive oil as a sauce, but add the cheeses and sauce, and it's a different level of "life is great!"!
Man I've been watching you tonight for like 3 hours now. I needed a red sauce for spaghetti and I came right to you because I discovered you earlier in the week and I knew you'd have just the ticket. Spaghetti has been done for hours now and I just can't stop watching your content. Love your approach to cooking!
Made this for dinner last night & it was sooooo delicious ! creamy ricotta adds a nice richness . One of my new faves now. ( Your recipes are all excellent ! Appreciate the tips & info on your preferred tools ).
We have never made Baked Ziti, but we have made Baked Mostaccioli. Really looking forward trying your recipe and style of mixing in the Ricotta. Thanks for sharing your know how. Wonderful teaching on RUclips.
Is there anything more satisfying than homemade sauce and pasta? And cheese? And then you throw in those crispy browned edges! What more could anyone possibly want? Maybe meatballs. Sometimes I sneak teeny tiny meatballs into my baked ziti. But that's just me. I'd sit at your table and feast on your dishes any day!
Thank you for another great recipe. Since I just found your channel, I'm still getting through videos and will watch some sauce recipes next. I'm looking for a meatless sauce. Your channel is wonderful!
Ya know, my Italian grandma taught me all I need to know about sauce. But ... that sauce in this video looks rich and thick and tasty. I"m going to have to watch that next. And I definitely want some baked Ziti this week!
I love Polly-o. There is something about that sweetness of ricotta that makes the dish out of this world! The only thing wrong is the dish isn't big enough. I want a TUB of ziti. I love ziti or rigatoni for my baked "ziti." Love this video!
Thank you for this recipe. I am a newbie and will be making this next weekend! I would love to see you make a simple meatloaf. I will watch your Sunday dinner sauce. Donna xoxo
Love this!!! Thank God for you, so glad to have found your channel, so many recipes that also look AMAZING! I will be sure to like and comment on each one💕 thank you for sharing and for all you do. 😊💕God bless!
I was asked to bring meatless baked ziti for this Memorial Day BBQ. Searched you tube and the usual suspects appeared: Rachel, The Pioneer Woman, Lydia and then YOU! And wow, why did I NOT find you earlier? I’ve watched 6 of your videos just now. Here is a Greek yiayia in Italian it’s Nona, whose spanakopita is the best, but Italian cooking skills fall short. I can tell this ziti will be awesome! And my 5 year old angel loves pasta. Making your Sunday sauce today! Thank you for your simple and easy techniques Chef! Keep on posting Anna from NYC
Would love to see an oso bucco show. Also polenta, and things that can be made from it. My MIL would put leftover polenta in a baking dish and slice it in the morning, fry in butter, warm syrup for her grandkids breakfasts before they went off to their parochial school for the day.
I’m making this right now 🙂 the only thing I did differently Is I added some things to the ricotta before mixing it with the pasta but I’m super excited to try it 😋
I left a comment below yesterday, but wanted to add something. I've watched this video a few times now and am pausing the video so I can cook along with you :) As I'm typing this, my pasta is bubbling and my cheese is grated. I've got two casserole dishes out and ready to layer once my pasta is al dente. I thought I'd make two so I can have one for my husband and I to enjoy and then I can take one to my grandchildren's home tonight. They are Italian, pasta loving kiddos. I'm absolutely loving your channel and am watching as many of your videos as I can fit into my day. I recently found your channel, so I'm late to the game and have a lot of catching up to do. Lastly, you asked for suggestions and I'd love to see a polenta recipe. I grew up eating polenta but only had it when my grandmother made it. She's since passed, but I once asked her how she made it. Her description was vague because she seldom wrote recipes down because she said it was all in her head. She would make a savory creamy polenta and then she also made a cold polenta with fresh, raw, and very finely chopped kale. She would serve this version cold. It was delicious! I'd love to see your take on this. Thank you.
Make whatever you'd like as I am loving it all. I have to adapt recipes (whole wheat, chickpea or lentil pasta) as I am diabetic but the sunday sauce is perfect!
Love the videos. Your pizza series inspired me to try my hand at making my own pizza. I have to say for my first time making pizza it wasn't to bad. Your Sunday dinner series reminds me of the times I would go with my parents and siblings to my father's parents house. There was braciole, meatballs and sausage in homemade sauce and pasta. At Christmas my Grandmother would make the Seven Fishes feast. That was fantastic. With the holidays coming up would that be something you could culinarily explore? Thank you and keep this going. Italian traditions, especially around food are very important.
Thanks for liking the videos! You're in luck. I already made a whole Feast of the Seven Fishes series last year: ruclips.net/p/PL0QyikC1o6v2zSyIy8jHRncsbP3ucKIs6. Hope you enjoy the videos.
Love how your channel is blowing up. I love that you teach amazing Italian dishes without complicating things. You preach personal preference. Cheers!
My comment is this: I have never made a single recipe from your website that wasn’t AWESOME! THANK YOU!
I appreciate that, thank you!
I really appreciate the straightforward clear no BS approach your demo/teaching style is. Thanks
Tks , for showing how to eat Italian on Sundays ,it’s been a longtime since I’ve been with my Italian family in Wichita❤🦋
Love your videos. I grew up in NJ and worked at a pizzeria for 10+ years. Now I'm in Denver and most of that food is nowhere to be found. These are the recipes that bring me home. Thanks for making them.

Hey there! Thanks very much for the great compliment! I appreciate you watching the series and my videos. Any particular recipes you want me to make?
@@SipandFeast What about a great Osso Buco recipe or Risotto?
Definitely intend to do both. Thanks!
You sir are not only an amazing cook but a great teacher! I am making this tonight and it will be my fifth of your recipes! The other four were amazing. I’m sure this will be too. I am using your marinara with the San marzano tomatoes. Running short on time. Keep up the amazing work!!
It’s the first time I’m watching, I love the way you show your steps of cooking, I’m making this dish today, 👍👍 from New York
Shoutouts to Uncle Giuseppe's, I'm in the food industry and they're one of my best customers. Great products there.
Thank you so much for this recipe. I made it for the first time and my family loves it keep up the great work.

I try my best. Appreciate the support!
I made your recipe today. OMG it was so good!!! i looked at other's recipe but I chose yours and I'm glad I did. I have to check out your Sunday Sauce although I make a good sauce.
I think this is the first Baked Ziti recipe that I have seen that doesnt have any meat in it! I like it and it looks delicious!!
Thanks! I made another video with meat, but this one is definitely quicker and just as good imo.
Love your recipes. Reminds me of Sunday dinner at my Grandparents when I was growing up. I'm going to make this recipe for a progessive dinner this weekend.

I just love your videos and your recipes. I’ve made at least a half dozen now, and every one of them has been a hit. Thank you!

Looks yummy. Very easy to make.
Thanks so much!
I lived on baked ziti when I moved to Philly to go to college. Delicious and filling. And it didn't make me fat because I wrestled. LOL!
It's great when you're young and can eat everything. I still do, but I need to watch out now lol.
Second time watching this video, following along making myself. It's * perfection *
LOVE the videos!!
Your baked ziti looks wonderful. I will be looking at other videos of yours.
Thanks very much and welcome to the channel!
Thank you for this recipe. I am a newbie and will be making this next weekend! I would love to see you make a simple meatloaf. I will watch your Sunday dinner sauce. Donna xoxo
So easy and so good! Used Rao's sauce and came out great. Maybe make sauce from scratch next time but not necessary if pressed for time. Great video.

I might redo the series or something similar. This is an old video and I've improved my editing/audio a good amount since making it.
That looks so yummy
Great video! Made this a few days ago. The family absolutely loved it.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you all enjoyed it.

Will have to try with ricotta. Looks good love your channel.

Baked ziti just like my NY Italian mother in law used to make...she learned from her nonna! It was delicious!
Thanks! This is pretty much the standard one New Yorkers make, including the Polly-O.
Making this right now!!
Trying this ... looks good!

Made the sauce on Sunday (it’s so good), now using the the leftover sauce for baked ziti tonight.
I am _so_ glad you ditched the reversed ball cap look! 👍👍👍
That held back my long hair which is now gone.

I was never a huge fan of baked ziti, maybe I never understood it. But yours looks bomber. 👍👍
