I'm really sick of everyone saying you need this I-rig crap.
Would this solution work for programs that claim to require such devices? An example would be the popular app for Android called "Deplike" The app claims that an iRig or similar device must be used to work with the app but it sounds disingenuous to me. We should be able to plug in, Android receive guitar input, and then transfer it via Bluetooth or manipulate it through an app for processing or even both in my mind.

Fun fact: You don't actually need iRig for Deplike, you can just use a Y splitter for input and output and it will work (you will have latency issues, since Android is not really good with audio stuff)
For less latency, you can connect ANY USB audio card and it will work like a charm.

irig is not a crap. u can't simply connect high resistance device such a guitar to low resistance audio input of your phone. it will work, but tone will go bububuububub

Excellent video but to plug a guitar to a mobile phone you just need an iRig and deplike guitar effects app:) no need to deal with these cables...
