In sex ed class, the teacher said "But sex could be different for trans sexual people." I went "Transgender." the teacher looked at me and asked "What?" I repeated myself and told them the term transsexual wasn't proper. I started fighting with my teacher over it. My best friends joined in with the verbal fight and we all got sent to the office. My father let me get away with it bc he thought the teacher was being an idiot.

+Ashlee Botkin what an awful teacher, my sex ed in highschool didnt even cover gender, they barely even talking about sexualities other than gay and straight

This series as a whole is very interesting.. as a straight female I'm a bit clueless of the Trans community and you answer a lot of questions that a lot of people are curious about but would maybe make other people uncomfortable to answer. Thanks! :)

+Creative Pet Keeping Yo! It's so awesome that you're trying to educate yourself, and that you're taking an interest in our community! Just wanna give you a heads up in terms of language: like Stef was saying in the video, sexuality and gender identity are two totally different things. So saying "as a straight female" doesn't mean "as someone who isn't trans," because like Stef was saying, she is a straight female too. The words I think you were looking for are "as a cisgender female" which just means a woman who isn't trans.

+dollar store coffee Gonna reply to your comment with a thank you! I see little mistakes like that happen often but instead of approaching them as kind as you did, people get so hostile! It's great to see such a caring and helpful response, just shows how great of a community us little buns have ☺️

    • @dollarstorecoffee
      @dollarstorecoffee 8 лет назад +6

+Misty Haight No yeah, totally! I feel like attacking someone is just completely the wrong way to go about it-obviously, being angry is justified, but if you attack, the other person's instinct is going to be to shut down and defend, rather than open up and listen. Especially in cases like this where it's a tiny tiny slip up and the intentions of the person are so good, I feel like hostility would 100% inappropriate, and solve nothing.

Straight cis-gendered female here, originally subscribed because of your fashion/makeup videos lol. Initially, I was really confused by the concept of transgender individuals. I just didn't quite understand how, biologically and psychologically, someone could feel that way. Honestly, you've really opened my eyes and watching you transition has really helped me understand the trans community. I feel like I've more open minded and understanding. Thank you for educating me and helping me understand. I really appreciate your channel Stef!

I've always been accepting of people of all backgrounds and experiences, but I feel like the more I'm educated the more I can be 100% accepting and all that because I actually know and understand what people are going through.
Thank you for everything and keep up the amazing work and stay golden! (:

I saw you talking to Blaire White on twitter so I decided to look up your channel. This video was extremely informative and I love that you're being 100% real about your transition experience. This kind of information is so hard to find because it's so taboo to talk about. I'm a cisgender, straight female and I am truly fascinated by trans people and the community and I do vast research on it. I will definitely use your channel for my research. Thank you.

Dear Stef, Thank you for sharing this.
I never comment on YT videos I watch, I rarely subscribe to any channel. But you always appear in my feed because I've been watching a few previous videos that I really enjoyed a lot. I don't know anyone in my entourage who is transgender, and I am cisgender myself. Everything I learn from you is really precious!! Now I know that if I meet a transgender person in the future, I have now the keys to understand what they've been going through and what they are going through. I don't have the fear anymore to ask stupid/rude question. This is really precious how well you raise awareness !
Plus, watching this video with you saying to your mom "please stop listening to this" ahaha this makes me realize the courage you have to expose to the world your own experience. It might be super awkward to show this to the world sometimes I imagine... but that's for the benefit of thousands of people! I am really grateful ! Thank you Stef ! Love from Europe!

With all of the news articles and mainstream media I've seen, I have never learned more about transgender people than I have watching four or five of these videos. I'm not transgender, and I know I can never understand the struggles of the transgender community, but I really think these videos are helpful educational tools to clear up some widely held misconceptions. A lot of these topics are either not discussed at all in mainstream media or ARE discussed but completely inaccurately.
I really, really appreciate you posting these videos. You don't HAVE to give people a look into your day to day life and you don't have to discuss these topics to hundreds of thousands of people, but you do and that's great. I can't imagine how it must feel to be such a pioneer in navigating this educational communication. Go you!

+PornHub Hey I'm a transguy too and I'm attracted to females AND males. If you want to be a guy and you're attracted to guys then so be it. People might try to invalidate you for it but honesty forget what they say. I'm valid, you're valid, we're both valid no matter who we are and who we like.
Don't rush to come out if you don't feel comfortable about it yet. Take your time. Figure out how you're going to come out, what you're going to say, etc. just don't force yourself to do it without mentally preparing yourself. Make sure you learn how to validate yourself because you may or may not have to deal with lots of invalidation from the people around you in the beginning. Try to find people who will accept you for who you are. Just be you (and don't apologize about it)

    • @ZanKraken
      @ZanKraken 8 лет назад +2

+Lilly Dragon As with many other "minority" groups, trans people get sexualized as some kind of.. Achievement. As if there is something different in sleeping with them than sleeping with someone who is not trans. Many porn sites have a separate grouping for videos of people who don't have the "traditional" set of sexual characteristics (like have breasts and a penis, for example), and it's good business since apparently a lot of people get off on that. It's not so much that "they aren't people", but in the sense of pornography they become an object which performs for the viewers pleasure, no different than other fetishized groups (certain nationalities, sexualities, weights, for example).
So while I don't know how much of this actually translates into real life encounters (people who'd be seeking specifically transfolk for sexual reasons, only because they are trans), in the world of online adult entertainment it's not much different than, say, a japanese woman being the object of the viewers pleasure.

+Temple Of Azure Flame well for one thing, asexual people exist and don't want to hear about that. And to me all that futa is, is a gross perverse sexualuzation of mine and others identities. Stef🌹💕, thanks for explaining this in such a way, a person could understand it easily. I am a straight married female and have a friend that is Transgender. I researched and studied so much and have a good understanding about body dysmorphia. I follow a few Trans folks and just wanted to say I love and respect all. You all go through so much mentally and physically, and I admire your bravery. I wish you all the best on your surgery. You are drop dead gorgeous and your hair colors are so beautiful. Enjoy you amazing journey. I have been on your channel for awhile now and can see many changes. Having to go so far away from home for surgery seems not so good, but I have heard from others that those Drs are amazing at what they do for a cheaper price. A Trans friend had top and bottom done out of country and it is remarkable how well the surgery went🌹💕I'm in Alberta Canada, sending you tons of love and positive vibes in eastern Canada😎

Perhaps this question is too TMI or personal, but I've been wondering: so a trans woman after bottom surgery wouldn't have a uterus (though uterus transplants are becoming a thing, i think?), so where would the vagina... go? Would it just end at where the cervix would be? This is probably the weirdest youtube comment I've ever written. Sorry if it's too personal or something, I'm just curious.

+Zoe M Cis vagina basically just ends tho too. The hole in the cervix is tiny except for during child birth.

Stef, you are so articulate and eloquent.
A lot of your videos do not directly relate to me as I am not transgender, but they are very informative, helping me to become more understanding, open-minded and respectful of those who are. I support you and your channel whole-heartedly.

Bread Mom, I feel like you're mistaking sex and sexuality. Sex itself, in biology, refers to the sexual organs we differentiate different sexes by. Sexuality deals with orientation and procreation and all that behaviour, as you said. I also feel like there's general confusion about the difference of sex and gender in this world. I think "sex" is used in a weird/confusing way in modern language, because we now also refer to the sexual act/intercourse by the term "sex". Because I see the merely biological standpoint, I don't feel like I misunderstand the term 'transsexual', which thus literally means "beyond (the) sex(es)", which I actually find quite fitting when you think of the first people looking for a word for it. I see what you mean though. :)

Im lowkey so happy for you stef! You have so many people here that support you and watch you and most of us are transgender (like me). But I'm so very happy for you! Your doing something some of us wont get to do or have the capability too and in my case it brings me (and most likely other trans women and men) down that i most likely wont get to do this but seeing you do it makes me so happy! It gives me hope that i, one day i could do that too!! So basically thank you!!!!

Love you Stef! This is kind of crazy because I just had to explain this on facebook, i just told everyone recently that I am trans->Female. I got some weird comments like "oh i didnt know you were gay" and "are you going to leave your wife now that you're a girl" and crazy stuff like that. I explained being Transgender IS NOT nor will it EVER BE anything sexual. But its people like you educating everyone that drives this community to the horizon so everyone can understand. By the way, I then had to explain what Pan-sexuality is, which is why my wife and I are perfectly happy, even after I told her! Yay!

I think the basis here still comes from the basic understanding that rather than focusing on a body type, pursue people you like sexually, but understand how to deal with people's feelings compassionately. Understand sexuality and what role you need to play to satisfy and enjoy your partnerships as what they are.
You can draw anyone into sexuality, it's just sometimes harder with some rather than others.

I love your videos, I love you as a person, you seem so sweet and so genuine. It's fantastic how comfortable you are talking openly about everything I'm sure you've educated a lot of people through your videos.
I am cisgender and pansexual, so it's intrigued me to find out more about everyone's own journeys, and how to communicate with people better. I will continue to watch your videos, and I wish you the absolute best in your future.
I admire transgenger people because they are just so brave, such courageous people, and to see others happy with themselves makes me happy. Seeing people hate who they are is terrible and no one deserves that, everyone deserves to feel beautiful no matter the gender, sexual preference, size, height, etc. In this day and age it disgusts me that some people are so against transgenger people, or anyone that isn't straight, in this day and age we should all be accepting of each other, love and support each other.
I definitely think your videos are making a huge dent in changing people's perceptions for the better. You're an amazing, and beautiful woman Stef.
And thank you for being you!

My friend Donna went to him in 1999/2000 and I can tell you the surgery went perfectly and when he was Doug he was married to a woman, but after his surgery to become Donna, she liked women even more, and felt at home in her body. I think of Donna as a second mom and I've known her since 2001, so post surgery. I can tell you that Donna after surgery her sex drive was doubled even tripled at times and she is now remarried to a woman and has been with her for 10 years and they are very happy together and huge in the LGBT community. Donna gives talks all over the U.S. and loves to educate people. I am glad to see that you made this video. One thing you didn't touch on was if a before surgery trans person is with a woman, and then after surgery is with a woman does that make them a lesbian or straight? I have a friend I sent you a twitter message about yesterday and I would like to see you make a video explaining that if you could. I love watching your video's I have sent my friend the link to your channel. I hope she watches them as she is newly trans.

@catkisskiss actually no my mom Donna decided that she would rather be a woman. It wasn't about her feeling that she needed to be a woman. She had had a midlife crisis and had been a U.S. postal worker for 35 years and decided she wanted to change. So that was it she flew to Thailand with her wife and had the surgery on a spur the moment thing and came back a whole new person. Her wife was very upset because 10 years earlier she had married a man named Douglas and didn't know that that was why they were going over there she thought they were celebrating their 10th anniversary and it was supposed to be a second honeymoon for them. At least that is what Bonnie thought she was getting, not a wife. They divorced about 3 years after Donna's surgery because Bonnie was a retired nun and it was against the Catholic religion to do what Donna did. Donna also got fired from USPS over her surgery and she went to school and worked as a substitute high school teacher for a while until she got on teaching a few classes at a very well known state college.
Now Donna does pagan festivals all of the United States and she teaches lectures at LGBT conventions also all of the United States. So don't correct me when I know what I'm talking. I found your comment rude. Also, if you ask Donna if she felt like a woman before her surgery she will flat out tell you no! It was a midlife crisis that she went through and she wanted a change and that was it end of story. If you would like to ask ask me more information about Donna then send me an inbox message on RUclips and I will be more than happy to explain the story to you and how I met her and all the details instead of you making an ASSumption about something that I said I don't really appreciate that.
Donna liked women before her surgery then after missing that part of herself she turned to bdsm and other things. Btw she still teaches as a substitute high school teacher but no longer teaches at the college due to her travel schedule.

My eyes tend to really strain when watching your videos because of how over-exposed it is, making it difficult to watch at all -- is there any way you could lower the brightness or exposure? If not its totally ok especially since its only a request from one person! I'll always be listening regardless :)
