@@gh4707 sounds like he’s still got something to focus on. He wasn’t fired from the pod. They told him he could take the break he so badly needed but wouldn’t ask for.
@@747Cone a lot in his personal life. What he’s been open about is that he’s always used alcohol as a crutch, he’s getting divorced, and isn’t handling it as well as he thought he’d be able to. So he’s gonna get some help in the off season and not be on the pod for a little bit.

Out of Lemiuex, Gretz, and all those guys from that era, Messier is my guy. What he did in his post-Gretzky run is something I will never forget.

My only issue was when RA sat here arguing for a few minutes on the podcast that he wasn't blasted at game 7 when the boys told him he was. It was pretty clear during that exchange that he's either an alcoholic or he's depressed and he was taking it as a personal attack for self-medicating.
Guy just needs a few months to deal with his divorce and any other personal issues, maybe hit the gym and have some time with his friends off-screen and out of the public eye so he doesn't feel like he has to live up to the hype. He's got enough people around him to get through it, just needs the time to do so.
Seriously, who takes mushrooms going in to "cover" a game 7 as a credentialed member of the press. He looked awful next to actual professionals doing their jobs on the ice.

@@CaptainFantastik1 The thing is ... he's not the same as the credentialed press (he's more like a rock star) - so he needs to be cut some slack in terms of behaviour ... sure maybe he went a little overboard but like the boys said - the pod needs him. He's a huge reason why I watch -- he is an incredible character.

He is nowhere near a "rock star" bro and Biznasty is more popular, yet BIZ is a "credentialed press" member who commentates games on ESPN and HNiC, so maybe the Rear Admiral needs to decide whether HE thinks he is a rock star or a legitimate sports press member.

The way RA has been behaving lately, I'm glad he is taking a break. I'm not going to lie it was hard to watch the Getzlaf and Bieksa sandbagger because of him, and recently he hasn't been very entertaining to watch due to the drinking and not being able to take any responsibility for his actions. I hope he has a good vacation and is able to get into a healthy headspace and come back better.

I like RA but i wont lie, the whole Stanley Cup celebration in Florida was embarrassing. I hope that was a wake up call to straighten his life out. The last thing I want is for RA to leave the show, so I hope he appreciates what he has with this show. Please be well RA and return to the show in better shape.
RA has been to every cup party in NHL history. The only reason ur hating on RA is because u saw other people do it and it was the cool thing to do. No one said anything when RA was on the ice for the previouse 4 cup champs. Grow up or dont listen to the show.

I hope all the best for RA. However, if it's a problem with the bottle, it'll be really hard to resist all the temptation around him with the live events.
I had a friend who had a problem with the bottle, and the group would pile on him like you guys do. Maybe ease up, because believe it or not, sometimes he may be trying to live up to the reputation because that's what he's known for.

Mess is the best . A little dirty but he played in a jungle of animals. He dethroned 99 as my favorite player after they first sweep to the Islanders. Showed me what a complete player looks like. I always wanted to be #11 no matter what i played. Good to see idols be great people.

Saw Celebrini at the prospects scrimmage. The other team was stacked against him and he got off to a slow start. Once his squad got down by a couple and the competitiveness started pumpin he turned it on and dominated. Can't wait to see these guys develop over the next couple years.
