Hey why do I hear police sirens outside my house, their also getting louder. Wait! I'll never make a mistake again!! Noooo!... I really like this lessons tip, its very helpful. I was struggling for a bit, but I'll practice using my arms more than my wrist.
For mistake #1 that's a principle in FPS games too - using your whole arm with a larger mousing surface engages more total muscles and increases your overall precision, it's just a known fact. Outside of some extreme outliers, it's all arm-aimers for pros
@@theoneonlyhiiro7016 disclaimer: brushes doesn't mean 💩 in digital art, if you struggle to draw with basic brushes, then custom brushes won't help either
Procreate feels hard in start. Play around with brush stabilisation and streamline in Brush editor and it’ll be easier. Also try ‘Studio Pen’ and ‘technical pen’ brushes from Inking set and ‘Monoline’ and ‘Script’ from Calligraphy set. Brushes don’t matter but these are better suited to get used to procreate. Hope it helps. Ask anything if you need 🙌
i love your videos, im in my late 20s and i just started drawing with a pencil and paper ! i had a dull childhood where i didn't try anything i want because of reasons, well better late than never ! keep it up, your videos are awesome.
I'd say TRY to draw with your arm but if you get back pain stop it immediately. Took me a long time to learn that was killing my back. Resting my arm is the only way to draw all day without anything hurting. Just use stabilization or zoom out to draw with your wrist and still get clean lines.
I gave it a try today to draw with the whole hand on gesture drawings and at first I wasn't expecting much but once I started so many lines seemed so much better and I was also able to make them faster than before! Now I feel like I was drawing wrong for so long,so thanks Marc :)
A great bonus to going over your lineart again, redesign options. You can try something different in a specific spot and see how it looks with the rest. Allows for a lot of artistic freedom I feel.
Another super useful video 👏🏼 and which drawing tablet do you use? I’ve been trying to decide between the regular Cintiq 16 or the newer Huion Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K. Could use some recommendations :)
I’ve been finally getting more comfortable with digital art and the drawing with your entire arm tip definitely helped a ton when I first heard it. I also have nerve damage due to medication so my hands shake a little so using large arm movements instead of wrist movements helps my lines be less shaky. That and using more angles and turning the canvas when I’m during curving lines helps a ton with my specific needs.
Just when I was thinking “my line art really needs to be better”, along comes this video - many thanks! What kind of size range do you use for your brushes? The legendary brush default size is 40 and I always end up scaling it down to around 10, but maybe my canvas needs to be much bigger?
Thank you! I was always confused about "line suggestion" but from any figure drawing book I've read or video I watched, no one ever touched up on the subject and the "science" behind it but you explained it crystal clear. Thank you so much!
Your last tip on line suggestions is so useful for me right now. I'm currently drawing Sailor Moon and found how difficult it is for me to draw skirts. Thanks for another 🔥 video 🙌🏾
Hi everyone, please help me!!! I wanna be consept designer but I don't have yet equipment for this. What should I porches iPod Pro M1 or MacBook?! I appreciate your help! :)
thank you for the class! why never make dudes? appealing purposes, promoting purposes, pure enjoyment of drawing perfect female thighs? genuinely curious
There's something wrong with your body. All your joints are ball-joints 🤔 Did you double-check your humanity? What I hate the most of the CTRL+Z is that I use my left hand to use the stylus. That's why I needed to map it to one of the buttons of the stylus. The other button is for GRAB because my back hurts a lot to have a hand stretched out to the spacebar while the other is trying to draw. The button at the opposite tip of the stylus is my hard eraser (soft is for painting gradients mostly, final tweaks, etc). I'm still quite unconfident with my drawings but Marc seems to soothe my fears every time 🥲 Oh, you haven't covered another great mistake. The size of the canvas in relationship with the size of your brush and the ZOOM (for 2K canvases I found out that Marc's brush at 4px is great particulary if you use pen pressure). People should start their sketches and make most of the drawing zoomed out between 100% or 80% if the picture is very big. I saw (and I sinned many times in the past) people getting so zoomed into the drawings that when they zoom out the picture is full of inconsistencies, like wrong line-weight or details that end offuscated into a blob of colours because if you look at a picture at 100% zoom and the details you did at 200% end up disappearing, why bother doing them? Like some artist told me before, don't press your nose against the canvas, draw everything zoomed out and then get zoomed in for details but not so much they end disappearing. I think drawing so close is a bad habit from real media, like when people write and they slump over the paper in angles that make the wrist to ache a lot. I hope this tip finds you well.
Marc!!! I want to take your class but I’m still saving money up to purchase. Any suggestions on how to get better with dexterity and heads? I’m struggling over here.
Great video! I always draw outlines for facial features and I know that it looks bad, but its also very hard to get rid of that habit.I will try to focus more on that. One off topic question ,do you think I should combine the studies in your art program an example would be to combine the figure and the head study
Great video Sensei, despite being part ofthe actual program, i hit quite a common struggle bus which the previous 2 videos you made on the topic havnt helped me with - blank page syndrome
I wish you could show more examples. could it be possible to show an over rendered drawing? you showed an example of line quality from the wrist, that was nice. but pherhaps a before and after redrawing from the lazyness part would be cool. Anyways, I liked the video and I like the channel 👍
I'm using the legendary brush with photoshop and i'm struggling super hard with line art. I turned off opacity control but i'm still having to make the same stroke many times to get the dense black color that looks good. It seems to be with small lines, i'm drawing in 8k to help. I would really really appreciate any advice, I've been trying to fix this forever now.
I struggle with the overall look of lineart so much. I want it to give more of a sketch vibes, but the basic brush feels too bland, the textured one looks choppy, this brush is too sharp, this one too blurry... + my coloring and shading kills it all. I never had a problem with that, but since I'm trying to experiment with the style and add something extra to it, I always end up with something I'm not quite happy with.
Well sometimes I intencionally keep sketch lineart - parts of it, becuause there I sometimes manage to capture dynamic movement, or gesture that gets rigid when overtraced. Sometimes even nonsencical lines here and thre manage to define movement. I dunno. Maybe I am lazy.
Unrealistic expectations, what about people who don't have a pad to draw on? Digital art feels impossible with a mouse, or at least to try to trace or draw non squiggly lines.
I'll be buying your first term as soon as I can, hopefully before the sale ends. And I had a question, I use procreate on the ipad but your first term has a segment on photoshop. Does most of your teaching transfer to procreate or other programs? I /sure/ it would for practical art skills and yada yada but I figured I should ask anyway! Looking forward to getting started!
I have a few questions, 1 can you draw wolves 2 if so can you show us how to use the same steps in drawing people? if thats even possible, I'm decent with drawing busts and head shots but i struggle at drawing full body. thanks in advance even if you cant do that still love your videos!
When doing lineart, one should have patience. I always see this on beginners. They draw as if they are chased by something and might take their life if not done on time. Hahaha. You shouldn't rush.

as an amateur animator.. I do every mistake on this video
no wonder why my arm wrist always hurts
I have 2 questions.
1- Where's the discord server?

Line suggestion tip might definitely open eyes for some people. I kinda knew about that, but intuition prefers to overdo everything xd
