my highschool football coach found out i fly rc planes, he came up to me today and asked me if i was interested in flying a drone to capture footage at the football games next year, i dont have much experience with drones but im really excited! 😁
actually not. i'm new to drones, i own a mini and a air 2 which i just purchases. the mini signal get disconnected way too often, due to FAA its 400 meters or 1200/1300 FT, my mini get nowhere near it. it's a ridiculous height. the max i ever flew was 190 ft and it get disconnected and it land itself. the mini is light weight it doesn't hold up to the wind as good. the picture quality is ok. not good. but then again it's a 399/499 package. on the other hand with the Air 2 it's heavier, hold up to the wind better. but you have to register with FAA because it's over 250G. the camera sensor is bigger takes better picture. it record in 4K instead of 2.7K. but then again i don't think everybody would use their 4K feature. the air 2 is 500 more. to me i think it's worth it. this is just base on my own opinion. the mini is a great device. don't get me wrong. but i rather pay a little bit more for a bigger sensor and a better camera.
@@tonytan6822 Good asessment, I think the Mavic Mini is good if used as a compact Flycam which can be taken on family trips etc for quick and fun family air photos that is not intrusive or intimidating to others but if you want a true Drone experience with better height and distance then agree, other Mavics that are larger certainly is worth it but I personally don't enjoy flying around long and far distances so the Mini is perfect for me!

hey Half Chrome, you have really got to check out the Skydio 2. The autonomous obstacle avoidance is second to none. Should definitely be on your list!
I checked out the first few lower end models and I REALLY like the Tello version. Good price range, rechargeable batteries, great total package for a 10 year just starting. EXCEPT the need for a phone. I know.......YOUR 10 YEAR DOESN'T HAVE AN IPHONE 895XIT LTD?!?!?!?! WHAAAAATT??!?!?! Haha. He doesn't. He just bought one from Walmart for about $60 and I am really impressed with this things control, remote, flight, and everything. Except the remote uses AA batteries and the drone itself has to be plugged in to charge so once it's dead it's dead. 1 hour and 40 minutes to recharge. So....any suggestions for a young fella that is interested in the video capabilities, for fun, but has a remote and rechargeable/changeable batteries? Thanks for the video!
EXCELLENT summary video! My only other question would be range, the Mini 2 has some diff/better system (can't remember the name) that is attractive. Thank you for this terrific video! Subscribed/All!
Thanks for the video - very helpful! I have an older DJI P3A drone for real estate, but thinking it would be cool to keep that little Mini model handy in my vehicle for quick elevated stills without all the prep required. My only reservations are that the DJI Mini apparently does not create RAW files(?) and a concern that the Fly app has the cur-sed geofencing (which is none of DJI's business -- Grrr! Very good contribution on this topic, but one shouldn't forget that the Parrot Anafi has a good optical zoom as well. On top of this one can for example buy a Mavic 2 Pro or Zoom and get only the camera from the other model. It is very easy to swap them and so one has two fantastic drones without spending to much money.
I got the SG 906 pro and LOVED IT.... except when testing all the functions I sent it away, put it on hover and turned off the controller. It was supposed to return to its take off point but instead drifted away. It lost satellite signal, which was Aldo supposed to make it return to home but I never saw it again. That made me sour on ever buying a drone again.
Thanks for the video! Funnily enough I'm coming from a Syma X8C and although I upgraded to a GpPro clone camera the lack of stabilization was irritating. I don't have much cash so the Beast Pro looks interesting (limitations noted!). You mentioned the buggy app, but were you able to get the waypoints working? Every video I've seen they were unable to achieve this. Kind of holding off until I can resolve this. Thanks again.
No expert but I have flown several different drones and realized for real estate and inspections there is no inexpensive drone. MA 2 zoom - Detail is important and digital zoom does not capture the imperfections l would be looking for. My 2 cents.
I found a drone by holy stone that is 75 dollars on Amazon called the HH110D which has good wind resistance it goes about 100 yards up and 50 yards out and it has 1080p camera quality and can fly for 20 minutes each battery and it has two batteries that are rechargeable. I recommend it

good revview good you replace the SG 906 MAX because the photo qualty was less the a tello! and video almost the same even its 720P the bugs its really better, (searching to replace my tello without taring my wallet.
I already got a DJI Mini 2, and it works for 90 % of the times I have to use it. It is used for photographing large archaeological features, heritage sites, excavations etc. Tracking, video programs and zoom is irrelevant. However, I need something more wind resistant, and a better resolution then 4K. Any recommendations? The price is less relevant as it can be easily justified in comparison to the alternative of going up in a small airplane or the hassle of using a kite. Do
Love the list you made but wish you talked more about the app features or what’s it like flying them. I bought a $100 drone off Amazon and when it’s windy the drone isn’t strong enough to fly properly.
@@HalfChrome Thanks for the input... I see plenty with positive reviews from experts in that range which is why I came here to figure out which of those MANY to choose from.
There isn’t a single one worth it. I’d be curious what drone in that range any “expert” recommends. The “best” is probably the Hubsan Zino but I’d stay far away from that. The MJX B20 or ZLRC Beast pro are you best bets and but they are less than $200. Between $200-400 there isn’t anything reasonably better that would justify spending $50-100. Until you get to about $400 it just isn’t with it

@@yepyep6916 I upgraded to the Air 2 for its raw format and video. I still use it for filming and daylight photos, but it just doesn't cut it for low light photos, so I bought the 2 Pro primarily for the 1in sensor, and primarily use it for golden/blue hour photography.
Chris From SouthAus ...I’m a beginner, only have experience with $50 small toy drones. The quality and abilities are limited. Just bought a Holy Stone drone for $330, but I’m going to return it and either get a mavic Mini 2 or Mavic Air 2. If you had to do it all over again. Would you have started with the Mini?
Sort of focused on the quality of video and photos, but an overall good video. For me, I need a drone that has great intelligence, obstacle avoidance, and follow me features. An adventure drone for kayaking, mountain biking etc...
I have a budget of 400 dollars but I want a big drone because I live in Houston and the winds are real strong and the small ones are dragged by the wind
How about the longest lasting drone, and part availability like replacement motors. I just had a Neheme outdoor honor drone that my wife got me for Christmas. I loved it for a beginner drone for a month and then one of the motors went out. Cant get a motor for it. ☹️
I know absolutely nothing about drones but saw an advertisement on the exo Blackhawk drone and thought it sounded like a good buy… can someone tell me if it’s crap or decent?
Use the "HFUN FLY" app with the sg906 pro the video has zero latency and all the fun stuff the drone is supposed to do it does..my cell phone is older (LG Stylo4+) yet works great with this app (NOT THE HFUN PRO) -- Too much latency
What do you think about the f11 two axes gimble with built in electric stability at around the 150 to 200 dollar point? Gps of course. Foldable as well.
Looking to get one for my child. He has never had one. Need one that is easy to use. It stabilizes on its own. Easy to fly.. take images and so on. Need not to send too much its his first.. loves rc cars.. thinking he could handle a drone. What do you recommend?
So you wouldn't recommend the mini se I don't think it was released when you made this video any input would be appreciated I just want a cheap starter drone if I like it I'll save for the fpv dji drone the black one that comes with goggles
Im wondering why you did not mention the Holy Stone 720G, which has image stabilization, 4K video with a two axis gimbal for $299. Perhaps you could talk about why you do not like these drones, because on paper, it looks like a good value. It would help me in my purchase decision to know what you look for when evaluating drones.
What is the best drone for me? I don't use any modes. I just want to explore as far as I can and take pictures from the sky. I've had a Upair One and Roku F11 Pro. Neither have the range I want.
Good vid. I like that you actually DONT discriminate against the lower end of the market because not everyone has the money for a DJI. Personally I fly Snaptain pretty exclusively (for the moment) as I have 5 of their models. But I am saving for the Skydio2 and I was wondering if you have had a chance to get your hands on one and if so...what's your thoughts? @Half Chrome
Please suggest me a drone which have all the points below. 1. Under $100 2. Verry Stable 3. Camera which can be turned up and down by remote. 4. Long flight time around 10 to 15 min or more 5. Fly very far away

I wanted to be that guy who walks around with a drone following him all day...
Wonder if adding solar panels would do anything if it was designed on it on a future product..
good revview good you replace the SG 906 MAX because the photo qualty was less the a tello! and video almost the same even its 720P the bugs its really better, (searching to replace my tello without taring my wallet.
Nice video , how about a Ruko F11
Great video !
How about the f11 4K pro? It has 2 axis gimbal + electronic image stabilization!!
Haven’t flown it yet
The new mini 2, has zoom too. And it's 2x zoom is still in 4k
Does it have follow me"" , thankyou
No
I got the dji mavic mini it the best but for noobs I recommend fury from sky viper it’s a good drone for beginners
Lot of good Info Here thanks!
Glad to help
I already got a DJI Mini 2, and it works for 90 % of the times I have to use it. It is used for photographing large archaeological features, heritage sites, excavations etc. Tracking, video programs and zoom is irrelevant.
However, I need something more wind resistant, and a better resolution then 4K. Any recommendations? The price is less relevant as it can be easily justified in comparison to the alternative of going up in a small airplane or the hassle of using a kite.
Do
Mavic Air 2S
Love the list you made but wish you talked more about the app features or what’s it like flying them. I bought a $100 drone off Amazon and when it’s windy the drone isn’t strong enough to fly properly.
Cool Video i Love IT👍
Thoughts on the DJI Mini SE as a starter for photo and video?
It’s a great starter drone
The dji mavic mini is really cool but I also recommend the bebop 2 it has a lot of stuff on it but it does need to be registered
That thing is so hard to find
Autel... no geofencing. Why wasn't this mentioned? Major advantage over DJI
Well... you just straight skipped over my budget (around 250-300)
Off to Captain Drone for advice!
Because there isn’t anything in the 250-300 range
@@HalfChrome Thanks for the input... I see plenty with positive reviews from experts in that range which is why I came here to figure out which of those MANY to choose from.
There isn’t a single one worth it. I’d be curious what drone in that range any “expert” recommends. The “best” is probably the Hubsan Zino but I’d stay far away from that. The MJX B20 or ZLRC Beast pro are you best bets and but they are less than $200. Between $200-400 there isn’t anything reasonably better that would justify spending $50-100. Until you get to about $400 it just isn’t with it
Just got the Ryze Tello drone off a eBay win can’t wait to to use it
Hello i have recently purchased the DJI mini 2 and i want an upgrade around the 800$ mark like the autel evo because of its features what do you think i should purchase? I like the feature the autel evo has where the drone can follow you etc.
I’d go with the Mavic air 2
@@HalfChrome just ordered it with the fly more bundle... a bit over my budget but I’m excited to check how it compares to the mini 2, Thank you for the help 😄
I started with the Mavic Mini this time last year. Caught the bug big time and bought the Air 2 in July, and added a 2 Pro a month ago.
That is quite a collection.
What made you upgrade?
The mini is a good place to start
Thanks for the tips. I have the hs1100D.
Sort of focused on the quality of video and photos, but an overall good video.
For me, I need a drone that has great intelligence, obstacle avoidance, and follow me features. An adventure drone for kayaking, mountain biking etc...
You want the skydio
I have a budget of 400 dollars but I want a big drone because I live in Houston and the winds are real strong and the small ones are dragged by the wind
Xiaomi FIMI X8 SE is probably your best bet for a robust heavyish drone in that price range.
I have the snaptain h823h mini drone :)
I'm thinking about going FPV drones.
I love FPV
You're video is very helpful.
Thanks
How about the longest lasting drone, and part availability like replacement motors. I just had a Neheme outdoor honor drone that my wife got me for Christmas. I loved it for a beginner drone for a month and then one of the motors went out. Cant get a motor for it. ☹️
Dji man.... you dominate the market? You become the easiest product to get parts for
BEST VIDEO I HAVE SEEN VERY INFORMATIVE
Glad to help
i think that the Deerc D10 is the best for starters it is 50 dolloars and has camera it work very well
Haven’t flown it yet.
Dolloars
parrot anafi hands down...it's superior to the mini for not much more money
Nah, it’s not as good at holding position
Would of bought the mavic air 2 but It can’t cook unfortunately
I know absolutely nothing about drones but saw an advertisement on the exo Blackhawk drone and thought it sounded like a good buy… can someone tell me if it’s crap or decent?
It’s a rebranded drone sold at double the original price
Use the "HFUN FLY" app with the sg906 pro the video has zero latency and all the fun stuff the drone is supposed to do it does..my cell phone is older (LG Stylo4+) yet works great with this app (NOT THE HFUN PRO) -- Too much latency
It could fly farther with a range extender
Super informative! Thank you!
I have dji mavic mini and its so goodddd
What do you think about the f11 two axes gimble with built in electric stability at around the 150 to 200 dollar point? Gps of course. Foldable as well.
It is ok. I prefer the bugs
I love the black
Looking to get one for my child. He has never had one. Need one that is easy to use. It stabilizes on its own. Easy to fly.. take images and so on. Need not to send too much its his first.. loves rc cars.. thinking he could handle a drone. What do you recommend?
Ryze tello
So you wouldn't recommend the mini se I don't think it was released when you made this video any input would be appreciated I just want a cheap starter drone if I like it I'll save for the fpv dji drone the black one that comes with goggles
Im wondering why you did not mention the Holy Stone 720G, which has image stabilization, 4K video with a two axis gimbal for $299. Perhaps you could talk about why you do not like these drones, because on paper, it looks like a good value. It would help me in my purchase decision to know what you look for when evaluating drones.
Because it is the MJX Bugs 12 that is rebranded and more expensive. Also this is an older video and I’ve updated it.
I just like drone shots and I probably just want to have fun, but also don’t want to drop a lot of money for a drone 🤷♂️ what should I get?
Hard to say. Maybe the MJX.
Ideas please..
I want a drone that has good battery power above all at around £100-£300
What is the best drone for me? I don't use any modes. I just want to explore as far as I can and take pictures from the sky. I've had a Upair One and Roku F11 Pro. Neither have the range I want.
You want the Mavic air 2s
I have. It is amazing at following. Not great as a remote controlled flyer.
@@HalfChrome awesome! Good to know, thank you so much!
Where is this filmed? I love how the neighborhood and surroundings look like.
They remind me of a some kind if huge insect or animal when their flying
That was my grandfathers cattle barn with the silos. He raised 300 cattle at a time in Pittsboro, Indiana back in the 60's.
Thank you for your honesty on the affiliate links. A very nicely presented explanation.
Thanks. Trying to be upfront and honest.
Please suggest me a drone which have all the points below.
1. Under $100
2. Verry Stable
3. Camera which can be turned up and down by remote.
4. Long flight time around 10 to 15 min or more
5. Fly very far away
Hard to get all that for $100
How about jjrc x8?
what about voyage aeronautics PA-1005 it’s only $50 at wal mart and 6 axis and hd cam to ur mobile device
Likely garbage
Congratulations, very good.
Thanks
I own a sky viper nano drone and I’m just saying, DONT LET UR GAURD DOWN WHEN FLYING IT OUTSIDE
Nope.
