  • Pricing yourself as a freelance designer is one of the most difficult and continuous struggles you'll face on your creative journey. In this video I hope to shed some light on the pricing discourse by revealing what I've charged for design projects over some time, as well as giving some tips on how to choose your project rates.

      Well you win some and you lose some 🤷‍♂️ just work around what YOU feel is best for the work you’re producing.

      Gotta think about that hourly rate, my dude. Not to mention taxes. Even if you only work about 4.5 hours on all 7 designs total, that's only $15/hour before taxes and costs.

    So informative and reassuring🙏 i have been dipping more into freelancing and felt as if $200 per design was too much, but definitely feel now that i am justified in what I charge as I grow.

    • @by.johnjackson4883
      @by.johnjackson4883 10 месяцев назад +1

      same! i was hovering around that $200 range too. i just started upping my charge by like $40-$50 per project and that really helped my confidence

    It so depends on your client (although it does in my case).
    Sometimes I work on a project basis, sometimes per hour.
    Sometimes a project pays me 5000 for 32 hours. Sometimes 500 for 10 hours.
    Have fun. Work. And keep learning.
    Get those fun projects for low $$ and those boring projects for big $$.
    And. Not to forget, if you’re designing for duplicates. Such as prints, shirts or online usage. Make sure you’re receiving royalties per, or get them payed off beforehand.
    🎉

    Ayy doron. These early designs are fire. Please make a video series try to remake them. I would be a better place for a beginner to start with. Plus the really good quality designs 🙏🏽

    Hey Doron, could you make a video or comment about where you found clients in your early days? I'm sure you get hit up for work now, but starting out, it is definitely challenging finding the right clients and where to look. Right now I use twitter, but it's not the best when you have a lower following. Thanks bro! Love your work.

    You always have to remember the different clients you work for: is it one guy/artist? A band with multiple members? A clothing/whatever company? All of them will have different budgets, or rather, are able to pay more/better rates. You're not going to charge the bodega on the corner as much as Adidas, right?

    How do you find your clients? Or what did you do so your clients came to you? Cause I know through social media you can promote yourself, emails and etc. But I feel like this topic is not talked much. "Your first client is the hardest" well I got already couple of clients but how do you continue with that pace, cause for me it was just luck

    i have some questions tho:
    when you said 500 per submission and 500 per approval in the music industry. Did you mean 500 per 1 design or its like few designs like 7 ?
    and can you do please a video explaining how you get clients and show the ways that you got a few clients over the years. like you did this video?

    • @TheRickyThomas
      @TheRickyThomas 10 месяцев назад +1

      500 per approved design. But this can mean coming up with multiple concepts with only few being approved/paid for
