Great video. I recently got a blavk forest javs fern and glued it to slate.i thought I glued too much of the roots so it was turning brown. But ot was just brown diatoms because I've got hard water in Florida, and my many nerite snails are eating it right up. I've ordered 2 microsorum pteropus that I'm gluing to more slate, because I live that I can just pick it up and move it anywhere. I've got stock LEDs and they seem to be doing fine with my new jungle val and flame java moss, but I've got new hyyger 957 lights I need to cut the glass lids to make work, but do you think I should use the hyggers? It says too much light van burn the plants. Im still new to live plants because I've always been scared of them, but now my 55g only has 1 fake plant left. I'd live to have hornwort if I could get it to sta d straight up. My left corner needs a tall background plant, and I've got black gravel so I'm having a hard time finding one that would work. Any suggestions? Thanks for the information

You shouldn't have an issue moving it. I would probably just advise to minimize how much you touch it after its moved and be as gentle as you can to avoid breaking its root system move gravel from the furthest point out and work your way in and you should be able to move it successfully keep in mind once moved they tend to stall avoid messing with it.
      thanks for watching :)

I have been trying to figure out what to do with the 9 baby plants i got growing out of the leafs. I didn't know what they were until today 😆 they have been there for a month or more

It's actually really easy to glue a plant on you need to put glue on the rhizome itself and then you can add extra glue if you need to but usually it'll stick pretty well
I'm kind of old school I like to gently wedge the rhizome into a crevice but you want to make sure that the crevice isn't too tight otherwise it'll rot

I cut my leaf off when I see spores and put it emersed in a humidity chamber. The spores grow way faster than submersed.

I don't know how many types of Java for in there are but I know that there are 40 kinds of anubias and believe me if I could get my hands on that and fill up my tank with it I would because it is the only plant that does not croak in Taiwan water

What if you wanted to grow the plant itself cause I don't have an aquarium.

If you've got a water bottle that's clear you can cut the top off and you can grow it like that. Beginner plans just need a container of clean water. Can you clean out the plastic bottle don't use hot water I use cold water.
Yeah and then just adding some liquid fertilizer according to the directions and your plant should thrive

Seriously but every time the Java friend comes into Taiwan it looks like it's been beat to hell

You're lucky I live in Taiwan and the only thing that thrives in their horrific water is any kind of Anubias. Barrier reef Anubis I usually put it in the back and for the ones that are a little smaller I wedge in between the hardscaping and then I like to take it apart and create tiny little floaters and making a newbius island yeah.
the problem is the temperature of the water if you don't have really cold water at the plants don't do well and if you don't have good fertilizer root tabs or unfortunately the crap I hate the most aquarium soil then they don't grow well like stem plants Amazon swords they are all heavy root feeders
Unfortunately java fern is very expensive and every time I see it always looks like crap.

But what I can tell you is if you're a water is acidic as hell let the water sit out for 2 days in a plastic drink dispenser and then if you want clear water that's fine but if you want to do black water throw in some almond leaves you don't even need like a lot you just put in a piece and you'll get natural tannins from the leaf.
I haven't tried to just use the water because I actually like the way it looks in the tank and it seems to help keep my fish healthy except for swim bladder
This particular issue is a pain in the ass
none of my female bettas get it none of my male guppies get it but my poor male bettas
I've tried feeding them every two to three days now I'm on a program where I feed them one pallet every day hoping that they won't get swim bladder
I got a red crown tail who's in a community tank with five guppies he gets along very well I'm hoping with his one pellet a day he won't get swim bladder.
the sad thing is when my betas get swim bladder I cannot find unscented Epsom salt in Taiwan
I asked my sister to send me some because I heard that if you give your beta an Epsom salt for about 10 minutes it will help them to remove the toxins from their body
I have methane blue which is great for you know killing off bacterial and fungal issues but I never get that probably because of the almond leaves
I do keep my tanks relatively immaculate.
usually when I clean out my community tanks I put all the plants hardscape and Driftwood in a clean bowl of course the fish are gently put into containers and then I use the siphon to remove the water into the water containers for dirty water but I rinse the gravel really well because if I don't it smells even if I put clean water in
I usually rinse it about 3 or 4 times just to remove all the crud yeah.
Of course I use the old water to clean out my filters and my medium I use a filter brush to clean out the pipes because the tannins kind of get sucked up into the pipe sometimes.
I put everything back in rearranging it and when I gently put the fish back in and they never die from that actually they do quite fine because the water is pretty much the same temperature
But unfortunately I cannot get my male Bettas not to die from swim bladder
I've got great pellet foods it all sinks to the bottom if you soak it. I'm honestly thinking of trying that because I really can't get these poor betas not to get this
They're kept in drinking cups when you buy them Bettas bettas so I think that's the problem

I really wish I had my own store. I would love to set up a store where I sell guppies and have a selection of about 3 to 400 betas
I would like to buy them from stores that don't properly treat them and care for them the way they should be cared for and I would sell male and females because female bettas are great they're just as beautiful if not easier to take care of and they swim a lot more because they're not bogged down by their heavy fins
