I run the budget frog, and after playing with underrealm lich, it is a very good Budget option, the likelyhood that you will hit a land every time goes up significantly when looking at 3 cards, and it even puts them in the bin for you.
The budget frog is awesome. Less convoluted than the non-budget loops, in my opinion. Underrealm Lich sounds like a pretty good include for consistency
I don't play cEDH but it's awesome to see the explanations of the combos, sometimes looking through 99 cards makes it difficult to understand what's the purpose of the deck.
For anyone interested in budget Breya: go for the dramatic scepter combo build. Also, Worldgorger combo is pretty budget. Doomsday should be the plan 1 and now that LabMan was reprinted the piles should be pretty budget
Not really. What you wanna do is: put a lot of draw triggers on the stack and keep discarding dakmore slavage. When you have let's say 88 draw triggers on the stack. You keep digging until you it the reshuffling kozilek. Now you consume all the draw triggers and draw the entire deck. But we always have more draw triggers then cards to draw. That means we die. What you can do with kozilek is that we can discard it to negate all those extra draw triggers. We can't do that with Geas blessing I am afraid. And if we draw cards an at a time while we are discarding, we might draw into geas blessing an now we can't loop.
8:40 Doesn't Mirror-Mad Phantasm bear mentioning, in a Necrotic Ooze Self Mill deck? Requires you to have Ooze already on the field, but does the milling at instant speed, meaning your opponents will have less of a chance of interacting with your board.
It works. And could have been mentioned. But I have never tried it out myself or seen anyone do it. So I didn't wanna mention it because I can't guarantee its good enough.

First I want to say that I just recently found your channel as I'm trying to get into cedh and want to thank you for your wonderful videos. I do however have a question. While many of the combos in the video are mostly graveyard based for example with the Flash Hulk combo what are some budget ways to make sure you get the combo pieces? Also for a deck that revolves around winning through flash hulk combos what commander would you recommend? What I've seen so far for it is Thrasios/Tymna.
Thrasios/Tymna is the two Flash hulk masters, yes. Spellseeker can find flash. The fierce empath can find hulk. Merchant scroll can also find flash. Spell seeker and merchant scroll are even played in budget less decks btw. If you can afford summoners pact I would play that one to.
Oh, and i forgot, you can actually loop with just Gaea's Blessing. The reason why Kozilek is so much better is because you can discard it if you draw it and still shuffle your graveyard while Gaea's Blessing requires you to mill it. Also, it only works with Instant-Speed win conditions unlike Kozilek which enables Sorcery Speed win-cons like Praetor's Grasp infinite times.
Which dimir commander are you thinking of? Sure it easy. Drop a big creature in the grave. There is a bunch. Razaketh ... Razaketh and more razaketh. hehe. No, I am kidding. There actually is a bunch. You can go for value reanimator to bring back big stompy creatures that give you huge card draw. Gin-gitaxis is a good example of this. Or Nezahal is also great. But my personal favorite is Tidespout tyrant. Damn that Djiin is good. It's also a good way to get infinite mana with only rocks. But we can also use the Djiin to get rid of problematic hatebears. The color of blue is good at discarding cards, if budget; merfolk looter. If your rich if have a bigger budget, Baby jace. But I also recommend, pull from tomorrow. You can discard you big reanimator target that way.
@@cedhtv thanks for the suggestion. i have a value reanimator Scarab God that has ways to self mill all my library (e.g basalt monolith - mesmeric orb) and Dread Return a Lab Man and flashback Deep Analysis or Think Twice for the win. however, i feel that Scarab God is fast becoming irrelevant that I could swap Sygg in as the Commander and the merfolk won't change the deck dynamics that much.
Budget alternative to Walking Ballista for the Necrotic Ooze combo : Bloodrite Invoker. You have infinite mana anyway, so you can just drain the table.

@@cedhtv I think the closest you can get to budget storm are the paradoxical outcome storm decks. You need to get a lot of the more expensive rocks, but you can make do with cantrips/rituals as well. Hey, great video as always. Just thought I'd ask here since it's a more recent vid. What do you think of spellskite in Najeela Aluren? If lightning helix gets exiled by something you can gain infinite life using nature's claim as an ok out. It also helps disrupt certain combos or can protect your combo.
During the "Aluren combo run", we have ultimate control power. We can flicker spell seeker and find pack of negation, or naget, or anything similar. Then flicker Darevi and get mana to cast those spells. Witch should deal with almost anything. During the third hulk trigger before I have Aluren in play, you find spell seeker and Imperial recruiter together, shard CMC 6. That gives you pact of negation in your hand. After that, you sac Academy rector and get aluren in play. Now you have protection (a tiny bit at least) vs rec sage that can be cast in instant speed from an opponent during the "Aluren combo run". I feel this should do the job. BUT! This spell seeker thing isn't really guaranteed. What you could do is on your third hulk trigger find, YES, spellskite together with the imperial recruiter.
