@AmiriHipHop duuude I wish you would've mentioned Say That Shit that song go hard asf. Also gotta love that The Way I See Things is T.W.I.S.T
A lot of rappers love to call themselves "rockstars" nowadays and actually think they are bringing rock elements to hip hop, but in my opinion Peep did it best, his aesthetic, music videos and obviously the music itself
Peep did it in the most faithful way maybe but there are plenty of rappers that succesfully had rock elements to their music. Don't throw them under the bus, lots of fire rock inspired shit in rap that's great
Stop the cap, when it comes to bringing rock elements to hip hop, people like Playboi Carti did it way better. Nowadays with the rock/hip hop mix, Carti is literally doing the craziest concerts in modern history. Rock music is to go crazy, to rage, not to be depressed like in Lil Peep's case, he used rock elements but the sad vibe never changed, you can't go crazy at concerts with music like that.
City morgue too
@@ionkno20krock is not just rage there are sad and chill rock music too
@@ionkno20kit’s just grunge bro
I fw peep heavy, but I can see why a lot of peoples don’t like him. He’s definitely overly disrespected though because before people like Uzi, Trippie, Juice, X, and so on, Peep was doing emo rap before it was labeled as a genre. One of the true SoundCloud goats in terms of impact.
Before peep there was bones and before bones there was boondox. Peep wasn't the first.
@@texanarchy666 bones was not bringing rock elements lmfao 😂 and if they actually were doing a similar thing peep did it WAY better in a much shorter period of time because he could actually sing while bones has literally just been rapping in a monotone voice for a decade
@@CloudSoundsss you have no clue what you're talking about. Listen to BONES - Cut. Listen to his surrenderdorothy music. He has so much emo rap music where he sings way better than peep. Keep in mind five degrees uses the same sample as Cut and was most likely inspired by it. If you think all he does is rap, you're ignorant. Also he literally has djent songs. Listen to ICanSeeMyHouseFromHere and tell me that's monotone rapping. It's better screaming than most metalcore bands
@@texanarchy666 you're delusional lmfao. Even on the occasion where he veers off from what 90% of his songs are (keep in mind he's been doing it for a decade the small amount of versatility he has is the bare fucking minimum and peep has a more versatile discography with 3 years in the game) and i used to be a huge fan of his, ive heard his singing and his surrenderdorothy tracks. That shit is monotone as fuck too. If you deadass think he sings better than peep YOU have no idea what you're talking about. "Better screaming than most metalcore bands" 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 its not even better screaming than most rappers who do that shit lmfaooo screaming isnt even very creative anymore thats like the go to for any rapper who wants to do something "different". I'm very aware that peep was inspired by bones and used some of the same beats/samples in the beginning of his career. He still blew past bones with a fraction of his time in the game. Oh my God he sang and screamed in a couple songs too holy shit what a fucking visionary how did he come up with that lmaooo
@@texanarchy666 bones is starting to get like Eminem. He was influential at the beginning but now his sound is just tired and instead of adapting he's just been doing the same shit while hating on anyone who comes after him. Oh yeah he also rapped about feeding a girl pills so she'd suck his dick in dirt.
White wine is one of SoundCloud’s hall of fames
The Way I See Things is Peep's best song imo. The aesthetic, singing, and overall theme is so morbidly gorgeous.
I love you
That was my first song I’ve ever heard by him in 2015
That whole album is beautiful. Best album of all time. Nobody will ever be able to top it.
imo the goat in his trap goose era hits like it’s raw
This video right here was the video to really put me on to peep, ever since then it's only been up for his music for me, Appreciate it Amiri
@@AmiriHipHop Ofc man
When I first heard Peep I didn't really enjoy that much but he just grew on me the more I listened. Quite a lot of people I know had the same expereince as well. He hit the hardest for me in 2016-19, his music kinda getting stale to me the last few years for obvious reasons tho. In my opinion he was beyond rap, he had potential to become someone similar to Post Malone. Makes one really wonder how big he would've been today.
Also he made SO many songs in the time he made music. Literally am still finding songs more than 5 years after his passing, he must've made like 500 ish... I'm happy we at least have so much of his work out there
Post malone))) Peep was much more better then him@@user-vr2le8jb4d
I’ve been listening to Peep since high school and his music still hits, I’ll always appreciate his shit fr
Lil peep is very versatile to trap to punk to rock to many more he not just an emo rapper he more than that
“punk to rock” 😂
My favorite Peep and Tracy song is Your Favorite Dress. I definitely recommend it to everyone who hasn't heard it.
The first time I heard it I ran it up constantly for a week lol
The Matthew Chavez stream got taken down like 5 times 😭 it was 3 years strong from middle of 2018 or 2019
Am I sleepin on yuno miles?
Lol I laughed so hard when you did Tracy’s verse on witchblades 😂
I always say, you just gotta give him a chance, that emo shit is good when it’s from a real place. Glad to see genuine appreciation Amiri, great video Amiri!
It had its time. Peep and Juice WRLD were dope in 2018-2020 for me personally, but I’m not tryna hear no sad themes in 2023. Only listening to music that’s gives a lit perspective with a sense of clarity and wonderment 🏄♂️
Gym class is cozy with the introooo
At first I thought you weren't getting or understanding Peep and his music, but by the end you got it.
Broken smile is underrated
He literally brought back the emo music back to life. He's the king of emo rap. Long live peep 🕊️
Lil peep is my favorite artist of all time. No one hits the spot like he does for me.
mad underrated vid
the noise at the start of white tee is an 808 dawg lmaooo
I couldnt listen to the way i see things for a couple years after he passed. Its my favorite song of his
Star shopping is a timeless classic
Should do bones next he paved the way for peep and is a underground legend w several classic tapes
I wish we could've got his opinion on BenzTruck, my favorite lil peep song
My first introduction to Lil Peep was benz truck, found it through my lil bro which is interesting because usually its me who puts him on to music but that time it was the other way around. Even tho at the time I didn't and frankly still haven't delved into his catalog more outside of a couple songs, I still remember hearing the news and being bummed out
R.I.P. Lil Peep 🕊️
Btw your entry on Skyscrapers reminds me of my take on his song 4 Gold Chains. I can understand why someone wouldn't like the song but to me the melody is catchy and every once in a while it gets stuck in my head
@@shinobi4317 Lol true
Yes you’re sleeping, don’t give into the stigma
songs of lil peep i fw;
white tee, nuts, veins, bleed it, avoid , save that shit, kiss, better off dying, lil jeep, teen romance, your favorite dress, absolute in doubt, beat it, highschool, walk away as the door slams, feelz, yesterday pt 1 & 2, five degrees, s*x with my ex, lose my mind, and more maybe🤷♀️
About the tracy and peep drama, i think that genuinely peep and tracy have great chemestry together altho its easier to like peeps style more than tracys, for tracy its either you really like him or hate him. Now i gotta say that if i be tracy i would have been annoyed too if everything they did was only credited on peep but all of that drama is just caused by the media imo as i see it nowadays still that if two persons were credited on the same song only one of them really got the praise for that, for example "stay" by the kid laroi & justin bieber. I literally heard praise only going to bieber because he was more well known at this time than laroi and sometimes laroi was called the feature on that song even tho it was the complete other way round. So what im tryna say is that im sure that peep didnt want his literal best friend tracy only to stand in his shadows.
Oh yea it's a very reasonable thing to be upset by. I don't think anyone is denying that.
What sucks about it is that Tracy and Peep didn't make up before Peep passed away. So Tracy has to go the rest of his life living with little guilt that he stayed mad at Peep and never got the chance to squash it.
@@AmiriHipHop its really sad.
Had a gut feeling about how you would feel about The Way I See Things. Also the stuff with Lil Tracy…yeah I definitely didn’t look further into how he sounded on the stuff he did with Peep, but hearing about his headspace at the time of Awful Things, man…heavy
Kiss, tears and the last thing I wanna do are underrated asf my 3 favorite songs
The last thing I wanna do is tooo Good
@@M4X2COLD fr that line “all of the nights I spent without you thinking about you thinking about how you’re with him” was hitting a ngga hard when I was a junior in 2019
Enjoyed this reaction video A LOT, you give a lot of insight and thoughts on the songs. also the research you have done is immaculate. liked and subscribed!
Aye lets go been waiting for this one♥
Lil Peep’s been my favorite artist since I first heard’em, I know everybody got they own opinion’s on him & the music but he’s a legend of our generation an he’ll remembered for centuries to come
Peep been hard i had to grow up to understand it doe
i love peep and just how versatile he was, the sheer amount of songs peep has made and genres peep has used is insane
shout out to u for doing your research !
Nigga nineteeen is one of the best songs of all time 😭😭😭
Been waiting for this for a min 👀
Simple answer: yeah
I neva heared of him until 2020 from my uncle he was listening to star shopping i was like dam that's a beautiful song who that told me white boy name lil peep had to check him out
He had the potential to be the next Kurt Cobain it's sad they pump him up with drugs I'm glad his mom did sue them they was literally milking him dry it's a dam shame
bro star shopping and nuts are my fav frfr
Bro i love people discovering peeps music and it Was very refreshing to hear how much time you invested finding out more about his backstory and stuff. Also very nice to hear some critics (or how ever you call it) about in your opinion weeker projects but still lighting up the good performances
Very good Video
Yessirr glad you enjoyed him man. Enjoyed the video as well ofc 💪🏾🔥
you rapping tracy's part had me in stitches
Yesss mirror mirror is my song 😭let me stop I like to many to count
I thought you'd like toxic city, the sudden flow switch up is what got me personally. However I didn't know that was his very first song as lil peep so that was an interesting fact
Its too late amari, give it up 💯💯💯
Lovem or hate x and peep really influenced a lot of rappers and I think alot of fans don’t know or understand that
amazing video!
great vid bro
In my opinion lil peep is good in small doses. Listening on repeat in my opinion gets old kinda fast because of the content material and the sleepy production. Just me tho.
@@onggggno you don’t
life is beautiful is a track that his mother found on his old ass laptop, for one of his earlier tracks to be released years later it holds up pretty damn well.
You just had to be there i was heavy in the undagroud scene in high school heavy into lean n oxy’s n noz peep was our party music with Beamer boy, white wine, nuts, California world, lil Kennedy and much more we knew we were bums and peep sang our anthems, as some friends didn’t make it or lost their way the sadness of his music like 5 degrees, castles, light show, give you the moon and crybaby and those you already mentioned in the video were songs of reflection it wasn’t fun anymore watching my friends kill themselves ive also dealt with severe anxiety even till this day and at that time in a physically and mentally abusive relationship peep wasn’t just making music he was speaking my life he died the night before a concert in my city hundreds still came out to the venue anyways to sing, cry and dance to his music to people who were in that era he isn’t just a musician Peep and Mac are guardian angels that helped me celebrate, reflect and grow Peep is played at all my birthdays, he will be played at my wedding, and he’ll be played at my funeral a unique artist who taught me not only in his life but in his death love you forever Gus 🐣🐣🐣
p.s for anyone interested don’t listen to the studio versions of 16 lines or life is great they were butchered I’d recommend finding the OG versions on yt
you should listen to the og version of Life is Beautiful, it's a bit more raw and just better imo.
You definitely got recommended a lot of underrated songs but none I would recommend tbh he has sooo many better songs than some of the ones you got but glad you got to hear them cause this is what the real fans like but if I’m tryna get people into his music I’m showing them a lot of different ones. I love peep sm rip peep 💕💕
Gym class or white wine my favorite songs by him but i don’t really listen to him like that i did for a little shortly before he passed
personally I feel peep's music is good when you relate to it but when he raps about shit you cant relate to its just ehhh.
This was really dope to watch maaan! I make beats inspired by him so I'm a huge fan of course, but it's cool hearing another perspective like this. I feel like emo rap gets a bad rap with people thinking it's 'low effort' and not 'real' rap but like any other genre, there are going to be gems and tracks that don't hit. A lot of us out here are trying to revive the sound with modern production and ideas so thanks for giving the genre a chance 🙏 RIP Peep
Life is beautiful was actually on feelz ep too and it was called just life and its a different beat, honestly i prefer that one. Amazing video tho
Not that this has to change your mind on the White Tee beat but its a recreation/sample of Such Great Heights by Postal Service which is an indie rock classic.
Yeah I still don't like the song lol. Even after running back some of these songs after making this video "White Tee" is still one I don't rock with.
And thats perfectly fair lol its not one of my faves either.
But I appreciated your breakdowns particularly on Star Shoppin and The Way I See Things. Also I had to go back and listen to Beamer Boy because i feel like i never really paid it much attention and i liked it more this time around.
If you're looking for more recs I think you would like The Brightside, U Said, and Problems.
Am I Sleepin on Pop smoke either that or do a debate with his name in the convo
LONG LIVE PEEP 🕊🕊🕊
lil peep is a goat. rip. maybe u had to be there in the moment to really hve taken it all in. was a huge movement and a shame he gone
im more of a old yung bruh fan than peep, but my favourite song is fs gods. i remember the day that one dropped, should give it a listen
He not gonna like how long it takes to start up hahaha, I have to skip into that song every time I play it
4 Gold Chains is my favorite Peep song🔥
I’m gonna get a Maserati just to take my life Inside.
Pour another cup
Lord
Lord why do I gotta wake up?
I’ve done this with juice x and peep I didn’t give them a chance because I thought they just made sad music but they’re angels I mean I’ve never knew how to handle my emotions but they give me safety knowing there’s people who helped others without any reason or reward willing to help there fans by showing there pain and vulnerability truly good people may there souls rest in paradise ❤️
Let me recommend some peep songs cause you had some iffy ones ghost boy ,driveway , kiss , I crash u crash , walk away as the door slams(acoustic) , absolute in doubt , ghost girl , girls , prove my luv acoustic version, feelz, and lil Kennedy is probably his best rap song but he’s really overlooked sadly
I swear I'm the only peep fan who doesn't like life is beautiful and i been bumpin him since crybaby dropped lmfao i feel exactly the same as you about it
8:27 Damn Amiri you funny af😂🤣
Yes you are sleep peep the absolute goat
First heard of lil Peep 2015 or 2016 I was so high I can't remember lol but I remember when all these songs came out white tee beamer boy gym class white wine The bright side awful things he changed music for us in a great way when I first heard beamer boy I knew he was going to be a star i Heard about him on some underground type shit and started listen to all his music he had out before the songs even had a million views you could just tell he was going places and it was such a great time to be alive every time he released a new song you could just tell he was going to be a star to understand him in some way you would have to go through the same stuff to fully get how he feels his music connected with people differently than anybody else it was like wow somebody finally understands what I'm going through
As well as he's got a lot of songs that are still kind of underground that are hits i still listen to his music almost everyday i remember hearing the day he died I was sad depressed it was like I lost a part of myself to be honest
I would also recommend listening to Lil peep's song Goat
It's still underground but it's a completely different style almost a lyrical rap style it's the only one he has like that
anyway thanks for making the video Rip Lil Peep
Some if not most won’t understand but Peep’s a fuckin legend mane, RIP .. W video
Now that you've done lil peep, you sleepin on $uicideboy$
@@AmiriHipHopDMx
My bad, love the channel am i sleepin on big krit is my favorite, keep doin you man!🎉
That stuff about white wine though I was 16 when this was all I had coming up going through heartbreak and depression looking back it's very sad but at the time it just felt good to have someone feel the same and verbalize that hurt so well he encapsulated the generational pain we were going through I just can't express how important he was I think me and alot of other kids would have killed themselves if not for this wave of music peep took our pain and turned I into something we could use for good and somewhere to have solace amount other sad people thanks for covering him
I'll never forget lil peep
i loved seeing you giving his music a real chance unlike most of the haters i hear on tiktok
some of his more hype songs are his songs with gab3 and songs like keep my coo frr
You gotta listen to ALL peep music he has some fire ass hype songs. Like Godspeed, vegetables, backstage shawty , and many more
This might be a crazy thing to say based off the sound of these two being completely different... But... This man is very much like Mac Miller (in terms of listening experience). Like scarily similar. Both have dark songs that touch up on their addictions, both of them had psychological struggles, both died from drug overdose... In retrospect it feels the same listening to them now, because the fact they both talk about these things on their tracks adds so much gravity. Great vid btw.
Imo people sleep on
Acquafina
Ratches
Keep my coo
Should give honestly a listen 🙏🙏🙏
the livestream has been on for years, but not continuously.
Can u do "Am I sleeping " on pop smoke
He doesn't mess with drill niggas
his fans have a trauma bond to his music which makes them fans. if u cant relate to his depressing lyrics then its not for u. people only listen to him because they can relate, not because of anything else. now that I'm happy I never listen to peep anymore bc tbh, it makes u stay in that depressing headspace. u gotta listen to upbeat music to be happy, u are what you listen to
"If you can't relate to his depressing lyrics then it's not for u"
I strongly disagree with this, I can't relate to most of the stuff Peep sings/raps about, but his music sounds really good and are about some strong topics that's why I like him.
Trauma Bonding is certainly true for some, but you said that as a blanket statement that applies to everyone that listens to him.
You can enjoy Peep's music without being depressed bro, that's very possible lol.
@@AmiriHipHop YK what ur right i shouldn't have categorized all his fans into one category of how they feel, its just most if not all of the ppl I know who are fans of peep share the similar feelings and emotions peep has himself. Im sure there's ppl like u and others who are fine and just like how it sounds I didn't mean it that way
nahh wtf 😭😱🤣
Listen to prove my love with peep and makkonen it might still be unreleased but there's leaks shits so bouncy and happy
Peep has upbeat tracks as well Cobain and giving girls Cocaine are two of them.
I ain’t gone cap I never listened to him but was always aware of his impact (rip) and after this video ……. I still ain’t gone listen, this ain’t for me but I get the appeal and why he was loved
tracys verse on giving girls cocaine is way better than his verse on witchblades
you should've listened to castles
I aint watch the video yet but if u asking that question the answer is yes
5:20 lol because she was riding him bro "whip it like a nascar."
Iife is beautiful has an og version of it bc the song is actually one of his old ones and sounds so much better. The album version was way too over produced which took away the grittiness for me
Nah, Lil Peep the one that is sleeping
W video
i cant believe u hated on the "white tee" beat
like what how is it annoying its literaly fire
Bro what the fuck are you smoking??? White tee, witchblades, toxic city, all fire
