Islam in Iran is "شيعي"...so I don’t think you understand what Islam really is..."الشيعة"(they were not in the era of Muhammad)... So don'te talk about Islam while you are not "سني"
Saying "Allah is dead", in the same sense that saying "God is dead", could have a multitude of underlying meanings. It is also hardly analogous to expressing that "Jesus Christ is dead", in that Jesus Christ was, purportedly, a person who could die. Saying that Allah, God (the Father), Ain-Soph, Bene-Elohim, or whatever, which is supposed to represent the oneness of being, completeness, or totality of existence, being, in essence, negated, the very idea of which is putatively, in the eyes of Abrahamists, to render the impossible possible. The ultimate desecration. The phrase "Allah is dead", could, conversely, mean that the original, pagan purpose of the word designation of Allah, the one or the unknown god, represented by a stone (the Kaaba), which, according to track 5 of "Morbid Mohammad" has been subverted or corrupted by Islam. The stone, once white, is now tainted by blood. Black. At least, that is my interpretation. I think a better approach to determining the legitimacy of this band would be to have a native Arabic speaker analyze the Arabic passages of the lyrical content to determine whether they sound authentic/coherent or just like the usual Google translate drivel. There are also many Arabic audio samples throughout Seeds of Iblis' music. Some of them sound arcane and specific enough that, perhaps, only someone residing in or around the region from whence they originated would have knowledge of or access to them. Determining to whom these audio samples belong would be a pretty safe bet. If it just so happens that these audio samples are from, say, an imam operating in the Netherlands or the UK, then it is likely that these musicians are from somewhere in the West. And, yes, I am aware that this is the Internet and everyone has access to pretty much everything, so I admit that this is hardly conclusive. And I couldn't agree more that Seeds of Iblis' music is pretty enjoyable. Not anything groundbreaking or spectacular, but if the claims of their origins have any veracity to them, then much respect is deserved. Also, Nuclear Hammer. Great band. Love that album.
native arabic speaker here,…. the prayer passages sampled have nothing to do with the meaning or title of the song. for example in “islamophobia” there is a sample playing of a prayer for well being lol. the whole thing is just cringe theatrics with no substance
@@genghisghost the whole point is anti islam.. guess we cuz they sampled a prayer about well-being don't mean they dont have any substance.. sura 9 explains the whole album really.
here's a much quicker way to determine it all. listen to the scream vox and pair them to with the lyrics. now pay attention: does it remotely sound like the way the words are pronounced are with an Iraqi accent ? if not then well there you go 😅
On the "Allah is dead" lyric: couldn't it just be a play on the extremely common Nietzschean "God is dead"? That doesn't seem farfetched at all. It's not speaking about a literal death
Exactly I kinda felt like face palming after that take. Not every Lyric is meant to be taken too litteral, there might be more to it then what meets the eye.
Great observation about the timeline of the mentioned bands and the reasons behind the long hiatus. I think I can add a little bit of prospective to the story. See, the middle eastern metal scene had a huge boom around the late 2010s mainly due to the internet being faster and more affordable there. Instruments were also affordable and computers got so good that you could do a whole decent sounding album from home. If you look at syrian metal bands for example, you’ll notice a big influx of albums in that time window. Now the hiatus, you are not far off on why bands seized to make music. It wasn’t only ISIS but also the civil war(s) really picked off and intensified. Making music wasn’t feasible and stopped being a priority. Now that a lot of said musicians might have immigrated elsewhere, you’ll begin to see a gradual return of middle eastern bands (or so I hope at least). Great video!
I think Seeds of Iblis, and its related acts by extension, definitely bend the truth about their origins. Maybe they did it to generate buzz and get people talking. Maybe they did it for another reason. Not the first time a band has done something like that and it won't be the last. The music itself is decent, definitely worth checking out if you haven't heard it before, though if I wanted to listen to black metal from the Middle East they wouldn't be my first choice. That would go to a band like Al-Namrood or Akvan.
I like Al Namrood except the singer and his loud drunken like style. Seeds of Iblis is totally fucking awesome. Do you know how to get a physical copy of anything from Seeds?
I am Iraqi, and I've seen all the Arabic text that these bands demonstrate, EVERYONE CAN GET THE SAME FROM GOOGLE TRANSLATOR. Unless they use Iraqi words (yes Iraqi words are different than the words you get from Google Translate) or a voice release by them talking in the Iraqi dialect, I wouldn't believe that they're Iraqi.
Something I'd like to mention in regards to AlNamrood specifically, their earlier albums had very gritty and rough production, but then they began outsourcing the production of their later albums to Shaytan Productions, a Canadian indie label that specializes in production and distribution for underground middle eastern bands.
As an ex fundamentalist christian, and black metal head, I support you. It's all basically the same bullshit. Only in your countries, you can be killed for telling the truth. I literally have heard none of this before. But from what you describe, it sounds like what velvet cacoon did, and make up a bunch of stuff to generate hype, but I have no idea
Interesting video - good work fella. I also think the 'Allah is dead' lyric might be a riff on Nietzsche, or that the use of the word 'Allah' here is being deployed as a metaphor, or maybe as a symbol of Islam at large. Curious about the bogus photos though, maybe cameras are at a premium in 'Iraq'.
You can easily say that Allah is dead, in the same way as saying God is Dead, which means that the concept is dead. It has nothing to do with whether you understand Islam or not. God in Judaism or Christianity is not a created entity either and according to the doctrines cannot die, so alleging that since these bands proclaim that Allah is dead is not a demonstration about whether they are from an Islamic country or not. Regardless, the bands probably are still fake
I'm deeply impressed by the layers of self concealment protecting this project. Also, these are *exactly* the sort of role models we need for young women.
I know them since 2014. There was a website call arab anti islamic legions, now it is not working anymore, and I remember seeing 4 bands and some info(the fourth one was from Bahrain but dont remember the name). Also, i read in other web some years ago, the same you mean in this video, that janaza was an hoax. Besides the pictures you pointed out, other proof they said is that in one of janaza's front album cover, the writing is in persian (iran) instead arabic. Really strange for an arabic person, its diferent lenguage and writing. But i dont know if its true. Anyway, somehow, i find it quite exotic, i like the mix. Very different.
You should cover Al Namrood and Confess (Saudi arabian black metal band) and an Iranian metal band, I know you mentioned them but Namrood are a really interesting band because I distinctly remember hearing about them from local metal dudes back when i was living in Riyadh.
It's so annoying that this band was taken off Spotify for being "sketchy" or "racist" when it's just against Islam. As if Spotify doesn't have hundreds of anti Christian bands, peak favouritism.
the lyrical argument about the qur'an that you made is kind of flawed, the lyrics are sayign that Allah has been dead for centuries because he never existed, and was always in "Muhammed's head". The "dead" part of the lyrics are metaphorical.
I guess it’s how you view it If it’s looked at it the metaphorical way it works but in the theological way as I pointed it out it comes off like a lack of knowledge of youre criticizing it from within
even though according to the quran 'Allah' is a powerful entity or force it isn't strange or illogical to describe him as dead or alive since the quran already states that this entity has human feelings and adjectives like anger, satisfaction, grudge, wisdom etc...
Very interesting. Reminds me of Mulla, who claimed they were from Iraq but their Arabic lyrics are very broken and apparently they're from France? IDK, I haven't researched enough into the Mulla situation to know for sure, but that's what this whole situation you are talking about reminds me of.
The only thing i can say is that the claim to know Al-namrood, who i know because i did a video for them. Seeds of ibilis apperently claimed to know them, but Al namrood denies this. BTW i could ask if they want to do an interview with you? just let let me know and i will ask.
On the topic of the lyrics, and I know I’m 2 years late (2 years ago I wasn’t even listening to black metal but that’s besides the point lol), I interpreted “Allah is dead for centuries” to be both a play on the Nietzschean “God is dead” trope, and a reference to the idea that Allah was a figment of Mohammad’s imagination (“In Mohammad’s head he was born”) and therefore, with the prophet’s death, the God’s death, centuries ago.
Actually ISIS photo which represents in this video is not actually ISIS.They were another islamic terrorist gang from my country Srilanka which caused easter suicide bombings to the churches and to some to highclass hotels in 2019 and the person who is in middle was with a beard called Zaharan the leader of the gang actually we are not a muslim country either .well when i was posting some music from this band while ago one of my friends also told some facts like this too.i also dont think this band is from Iraq.
They still reside in Saudi Arabia, but production and distribution is outsourced through the label Shaytan Productions, which is based in Canada and works with various other middle eastern bands
The lyrics might reference Nietzsche. "Gott ist tot! Gott bleibt tot! Und wir haben ihn getötet!" (God is dead. God stays dead. And it's us who killed him.)
That Morbid Angel shirt is literally what made me stop wearing band shirts. SO stupid.. 1.) IF the band is from a Muslim country, they probably know more about Islam than our narrator does. 2.) They probably not from Iraq cos all the Arabic is actually Persian, including the Shirin Nesbit pic. I don't think that's Arabic script even. 3.) People who aren't in some way edgy or hateful are not black metal people. They just listen to shitty music.
Even if this band consists of people making records in Iraq, they're fraudulent. On Seeds of Iblis' record, 'Morbid Muhammad', they blatantly plagiarised Sielunvihollinen on the track 'Isra and Mi'raj'. The song is literally a jumble of slowed down segments from Sielunvihollinen's track 'Loputon viha' from their album 'Kuolonkylväjä'. One can even hear the garbled audio artifacts from the edited slow down. Total trash. Great video though, man.
im iraqi form Baghdad and the way they write the Arabic language is very similar to the Kuwaiti and Saudi dialects, so I do not think they are “Iraqis.”
Re: the lyrics for "Allah is dead": to say that "Allah" is dead is to say that Allah is a finite creature capable of death. But Allah is not considered thusly in Islam - as you say. However to say that it is otherwise is to limit Allah, i.e. blaspheme. Therefore, Allah is made an idea and idol. That is, not a God who necessarily exists (perhaps Islam considers God to be necessary). Hence, it is blasphemous. This is established with the lyric, 'In Mohammad's head he was born'. I am not familiar with Islamic theology - nor its faith in general. Perhaps, I am wrong. Thanks for the video, very cool.
Let me get this somehow to the point, i'm from egypt and i can guarantee you that such band would not be able to play or even record such hateful stuff towards the country's main religion (specially in iraq).

The whole narrative that they're trying to go as lowkey as possible only to comeback and brag about them being from Iraq and not only that, but limit the scoop on the city where they're from (Keep in mind the stories say there's almost 0 female metalheads there) seems so off to me .. That said, about 10 years ago, i tried to contact the so called Female front woman of Seeds of ibliss and janaza, but i was left on seen About a week ago, i was listening to Immortal's song At the heart of winter 0:40) and i came to realize that it sounds almost identical to a part in Janaza's Burn the pages of Quran (1:02) same arpeggios And i think as the years go on and on, we're going to find out more shit that is wrong in the story of this girl ! This part 1:00 sounds Exactly like the story of Nietzsche and how he lost his family members and so he said his famous words (God is dead) lol
It's more likely that they are Arabs and ex Muslims from North Africa that either moved to Europe or was born there. No way they could record their albums where they are allegedly from...
Great video. As for the lyrics, I think you just misinterpreted it. They are basically saying "(the whole concept of) Allah is dead for centuries". That is to say it never really existed because it was "born in mohammad's head". Simply put : Mohammad invented the whole story , which would then eventually give birth to the whole islamic religion.
13:30 why do you say ""Emotional speculation"" you really made your point on pretty good logical conclusions AND acknowledge your own bias bias.... it sounds pretty rational to me as an argument. like, bro you're ALLOWED to speculate if you got facts. luv ya. Dad. ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
Dude it's 3 am I'm shitting myself . But as I live in Iran and I know what's going on here. I get it why these bands exist . Can't talk more here cuz my life would be in danger (no lie)
6:58 i cringe at that part first allah is always called "he" in the quran and litterally behaves like an human like gets angry and stuff yes allah cant die according to islam because he is all powerful but what seeds of iblis or other islam critics state is muhammad is dead who is allah because allah always was muhammad's alter ego and muhammad as you can guess is dead keep up your videos research you put into them is amazing
alter ego ?, no. allah is the creator, ( لَمْ يَلِد وَلَم يولَد ) meaning he's the one who did not give birth to anyone, and no one gave birth to him, has no son and no father. because nothing is born except that it will die, and nothing dies except that it will inherit, and allah neither dies nor leaves an inheritance. unlike the christian supreme deity, allah cannot be considered as a “the father” or any annexed names or figures, because he is above all other beings. ( و لَم يَكُن لَهُ كُفوًّا أحَد ) meaning there's no one equal to him, and there is 'nothing' like him. On the other hand, muhammad is an actual person that lived and died. In Islam, he is a prophet, messenger. and he's the last prophet. he received visions (known as آيات ) from Allah or from the angel gabriel. many non-muslims confuse allah and muhammad due to their prominence in the Islamic faith. non-Muslims assume that the two figures have the same station and receive the same treatment. according to the Islamic teachings and traditions, allah must be worshiped as the one and true God. On the other hand, muhammad, as allah’s prophet, requires the highest respect and honor. i still can't understand the "alter ego" thingy. also 'he' in the arabic language can be used on males, the anonymous, animals, and objects too.

Yeah no way in hell this band is actually from Iraq. Big part of this that I don't think you mentioned... literally everything they do is in English. Lyrics are all in English. Promotional stuff, descriptions etc are all in English. Interview responses seem like they come from a native English speaker. Only thing in Arabic is the occasional samples. If the point is to be blasphemous within the Islamic world, why is every song in English despite being in a region with very low English proficiency? The other Middle Eastern black metal projects I'm familiar with (Narjahanam and Al-Namrood) have most of their work in Arabic. That's not to say non-western bands mustn't do English lyrics. But something doesn't sit right about it when it's literally 100%, especially with the context of the project being a vitriolic response to their surrounding world. Can't find anything about them marketing toward Iraqi/middle-eastern metal scenes either. The project just screams it being an American/European person pulling a gimmick to market toward western audiences and capitalize on Islamophobia.
that is a good point but the only reason why I didnt criticize that about them is cause a lot of the bands from Iraq and Iran are also done in the English language (band names, lyrics and song titles) that I saw on the metal archives .

Then again, this could all be one massive Iranian psyop to dunk on their Sunni neighbors. Who knows. Get better opsec, Ayatollah
native arabic speaker here,…. the prayer passages sampled have nothing to do with the meaning or title of the song. for example in “islamophobia” there is a sample playing of a prayer for well being lol. the whole thing is just cringe theatrics with no substance

@@bruh......2005well ye... That and Allah hasn't done anything to help his people.
Something I'd like to mention in regards to AlNamrood specifically, their earlier albums had very gritty and rough production, but then they began outsourcing the production of their later albums to Shaytan Productions, a Canadian indie label that specializes in production and distribution for underground middle eastern bands.
even still for what its worth it sounds (production wise) really good and passable.
@@wyattxhim Yeah, agreed. I like that despite the production being cleaner, they still manage to retain a fair amount of grit regardless.
Can anyone help me get into the Illuminati Order? I find it very interesting. Thanks.

The Middle Eastern black metal scene is quite an interesting phenomenon.
I advise you to listen to the Iranian group Ātesh

Love the Funebrarum shirt too.
The whole "Allah is dead" thing sounds like it's trying to play off of the "God is Dead" statement.
Damn, you got there before me. The Nietzchean perspective was my first thought too.
Thought the same thing
Especially cos it also talks about how a religious leader hates the world seems a lot like the whole song is a nitzschean reference
By the way, and you probably know this, but the woman on the album cover is an Iranian (not Iraqi) artist called Shirin Neshat
Thank you for pointing that out
As an ex fundamentalist christian, and black metal head, I support you. It's all basically the same bullshit. Only in your countries, you can be killed for telling the truth. I have mad respect for all of you. Whether or not these specific bands are being honest, I know people who are done with religious oppression exist in places like that. It's easy as fuck to be edgy and say anti religious shit in the west, nobody really cares, much less will kill you. You have balls of titanium. Keep fighting the fight.💪🤘

I remember Velvet cacoon lol. I haven't heard that name in years.
Great band. I forgot they had a gimmick. Weren't they supposed ecoterrorists?
Man you've always got stuff from the back of mind. Great video. Tbh, I always thought they were fake and was just some edge lord yank
Wyatt as you get older you look more like Brandon Herrera, “The AK Guy”. From 33rpm to 7.62, crossover vid needed stat!
I have their album. It’s okay, just a little much treble and twangy. I like Al Namrood more.
Also check Akvan, its a solo project from Iran and its really cool, its more black/folk with lyrics based on Persian Mythology and Zoroatrianism.
You should cover Al Namrood and Confess (Saudi arabian black metal band) and an Iranian metal band, I know you mentioned them but Namrood are a really interesting band because I distinctly remember hearing about them from local metal dudes back when i was living in Riyadh.
More videos like this please. Just you talking about topics and doing deep dives. Maybe deathspell omega lyric meanings?
It's so annoying that this band was taken off Spotify for being "sketchy" or "racist" when it's just against Islam. As if Spotify doesn't have hundreds of anti Christian bands, peak favouritism.
Only clicked the link due to owning that same shirt. Glad I found this video/page.
the lyrical argument about the qur'an that you made is kind of flawed, the lyrics are sayign that Allah has been dead for centuries because he never existed, and was always in "Muhammed's head". The "dead" part of the lyrics are metaphorical.
I guess it’s how you view it
If it’s looked at it the metaphorical way it works but in the theological way as I pointed it out it comes off like a lack of knowledge of youre criticizing it from within
@@wyattxhim I think the lyrics refer to the fact that man created religion and thus god, not vice versa.
even though according to the quran 'Allah' is a powerful entity or force it isn't strange or illogical to describe him as dead or alive since the quran already states that this entity has human feelings and adjectives like anger, satisfaction, grudge, wisdom etc...
Personally I could care less where a band is from, make good music and I'll buy it that simple
Very interesting. Reminds me of Mulla, who claimed they were from Iraq but their Arabic lyrics are very broken and apparently they're from France? IDK, I haven't researched enough into the Mulla situation to know for sure, but that's what this whole situation you are talking about reminds me of.

I’m a bit sketchy about the genuine and authenticity of the band. I think about how much effort it take to fake a project like this.
Anahita, sounds kurdish,, with persian poetry on cover ... doesn't sound Arabic at all ... sounds iranian

I like Al-Namrood, but I think they have relocated to Canada (?) quite early in their „career“?
They still reside in Saudi Arabia, but production and distribution is outsourced through the label Shaytan Productions, which is based in Canada and works with various other middle eastern bands
The lyrics might reference Nietzsche.
"Gott ist tot! Gott bleibt tot! Und wir haben ihn getötet!"
(God is dead. God stays dead. And it's us who killed him.)
I thought I read somewhere Janaza relocated to France?
Marid. True Saharan Black Metal. Ask anyone who actually speaks Arabic.
It would be such a major insult to Islam if Seeds of Iblis was legit. A woman spitting in Allah's face with impunity.
Are you sure about that ? 🤣
The lyrics say "Allah is dead" in the same metaphorical sense that Nietzsche said "God is dead".
Great video though, man.
ulluh is finite being
"He was born/Allah is dead" It's a literary technique.
im iraqi form Baghdad and the way they write the Arabic language is very similar to the Kuwaiti and Saudi dialects, so I do not think they are “Iraqis.”
Let me get this somehow to the point, i'm from egypt and i can guarantee you that such band would not be able to play or even record such hateful stuff towards the country's main religion (specially in iraq).

blasphemy is iraq isn't as punishable as in iran or saudi, it's common for people to blaspheme on the streets
It's pronounced as [ɪˈɹæk], because it's closer to how the name of the country Iraq is pronounced in Arabic
The whole narrative that they're trying to go as lowkey as possible only to comeback and brag about them being from Iraq and not only that, but limit the scoop on the city where they're from (Keep in mind the stories say there's almost 0 female metalheads there) seems so off to me ..
That said, about 10 years ago, i tried to contact the so called Female front woman of Seeds of ibliss and janaza, but i was left on seen
About a week ago, i was listening to Immortal's song At the heart of winter 0:40) and i came to realize that it sounds almost identical to a part in Janaza's Burn the pages of Quran (1:02) same arpeggios

Eeerrmmm are you suggesting that people in the middle east don't know English? So Mayhem is not Norwegian cause everything they do is in English? Or Kreator not from Germany? English gets you worldwide audience that's the point of using it.
@@ashkanamirian3574 yes but middle eastern countries specifically have really low english proficiency. it's just not taught there much. many european countries (especially germanic countries) have people proficient by the end of high school. yes it gets a worldwide audience, but that's kind of my point here. it's music meant to be blasphemous to their surroundings yet it's built for westerners? it's just a little weird combined with all the other weirdness.
