- Our family has decided to risk it all. Making a huge change in our lives to grow as a family and live our dreams! Follow along as we sell our home and move across the country to live in a 1986 camper while we find the perfect off grid home located!

Congratulations, we made that decision ...we live off-grid by the Grand Canyon AZ. It wasn't easy but we get better with each passing day, btw we are in our 60s and wish we would have figured it out earlier to leave the corporate world... we have solar and haul our water, and run our eBay business by our phone. Kudos to you!

Good luck. At 64 March 30th my Daughter just bought a 4 bedroom brick home and invited me to move in with them. Life is changing for me to I get to live with my 2 Grandsons that I babysit everyday so no more driving to go to them daily I’ll be with them. I’ve lived alone the last 20 years so o I’ll enjoy having company and instead of living in a mobile home I’ll be in a nice brick home. So I’m like y’all ready for the change.

Congrats. My husband and I, along with our kids moved from Markham, ON to Moncton NB in July 2013. Moving to the east coast was a huge dream for us but we couldn't see how we could make it possible. Then out of the blue an opportunity presented itself to relocate to Moncton and we took a leap of faith. It was one of the best decisions we've made as a family. You truly will be living in God's country in Cape Breton. Its absolutely stunning. Especially the Cabot Trail.

On a family trip to Nova Scotia 20+ years ago, our young daughter was trying to read while we were driving. She also didn't want to miss the scenery, so she asked me to tell her when to look outside. After several times, she got angry and yelled, "Why does everything have to be so beautiful?" Congratulations to your family!!! Enjoy the beauty!!! I know you will do well wherever you are!!!

Congratulations! I’m so excited for you. Keeping your dreams growing is very important. We all make plans that change, and you too have lots of drive to do wonderful things. So go for it. I think your sons are just the right age to do this by the time they get to high school they aren’t going to want to be changing around so much maybe, and it’s going to be harder the older they get. Plus with a nine and 11-year-old, You’ve got about 10 years to get use out of those boys to help you- ha ha. You will all learn so much. You will teach your boys how to build things and as they get older they will become more and more skilled. A wonderful thing to do for your kids. I’m praying that things will go well for you and that everything that you dreamed for will come true! Good job

You need to live your lives in a way that makes you feel the most fulfilled and beneficial to your family. I admit that I find your small trash to treasure flips or new builds like the table you are sitting at the most interesting because it is something that I might be able to incorporate. But that doesn't mean I think that should be a concern for you. Good luck, adventures can be very rewarding even if they are scary as hell and exhilarating at the same time.

You'll need to buy a trailer for all the tools. And don't get rid of any of them either - Murphy's law is you'll get rid of some tools only to realise you'll need them later.
My husband and I downsize because basically we just aged out of the farm life. We got rid of a lot of stuff. Now I’m replacing tools that I got rid of before the move!
@@djterry1218 Rofl - yes, done the same too. And threw out diy project bits, small offcuts of wood, fabric, etc. Only to realise when the time came for a particular inspied project idea, half the bits I needed had gone to charity shops. And as we are in lockdown in UK, only essential shops are open, so some ideas have had to be put on hold!! Hope you manage to replace everything without it costing too much. Stay safe xx

Anyway, I love watching Elysia make beautiful things out of cast off bits and bobs and discarded furniture.
