However the problem I'm having is that this is not helping me get connected to 3rd party internet services like at a Hotel or Truck Stop. The problem is that when you are at an hotel or need to need to an captive portal and you have to authenticate you won't be able to login to get the wifi. This is ridiculous it's been 4 years....

can't you just spoof the DNS so that instead of the ps5 getting the IP of the users guide website it gets the IP of Google making this process way easier
Call me crazy, but this nonsense is why this PS4 pro lover, just bought a Series X instead of PS5. No regrets either, seeing Xbox allows 3rd party peripherals like PC flightsticks on thier consoles. If Sony allowed this PC type support, its a no brainer PS5 would be the place to be, no contest.
