    my idea: They could have done a one-off MTV Unplugged, during which they still didn't comment on the break-up of the band, but we get to be a fly on the wall as they rehearse for & record the show. There's you're season 2. Then season 3 can pick up after Billy shows up at Daisy's door as they work towards a reunion tour.

    I loved the series so much I watched twice and right when it finished I read the book (the series is better). And even though I’m like obsessed with the story and the music that it’s amazing, I agree that maybe the essence is in the first season. They should really develop some new plots and new tension between Billy and Daisy, because that was the most addicting thing to watch. Also, I seem to be the only one not really liking Camilla. Like girl, your husband loves someone else, leave and do something for yourself instead of forcing that marriage. Also we know Billy has been listening to Daisy in the radio for 20 years and that must been a torture knowing his pride and love for music. So yes, I would love a world tour, new music and a S2 only if it gets the same magic as this one

    I so got that Daisy said "Go" meaning go fix things with Camila because that is what you need.

    I’ll only want a season 2 if Taylor Jenkins Reid writes another book or the script because it has to be done right

    I could see a continuation the story following Daisy's career and love affairs and Billy struggling with the pull of getting back into "the life" and the safety and sobriety of his family. I see them never getting over each other and Daisy has love affairs but Billy will always be the love of her life and she has made peace with that. I see them hearing about each other through the bandmates, like Graham talks to Billy (of course, they are brothers) and Graham talks to Warren (of course, they are childhood friends) and Daisy talks to Warren (there is a scene where Warren is clearly a session drummer for Daisy's solo music) and maybe Karen has gone back to London and Daisy sees Karen there whenever she is touring Europe. So maybe Daisy and Billy circle around each other during the twenty years and finally come face to face when Camilla "releases" Billy back to Daisy after her death.

    It doesn't need a season 2. It needed more episodes.

    I really didn't like the book; am I the only one that feels that way? I loved the series so much; there was so much more in the series than in the book! I wish they could do a second season, but I just want to see more of Daisy and Billy and how they get back together and what they do. (from Sandi)

    Daisy never said “Come on” before that last performance of “Look At Us Now”. She clearly says “Go”, and motions for him to leave and go after Camila. Watch the episode again.

      Thanks for your comment. Jim here: When I watched the scene, "Go" and the gesture meant "sing the song." As in "Come on dude, go! Sing your part!" If she did mean "Go to your wife," then that's unfortunate. Because in that moment, the writers rendered her as a textbook Manic Pixie Dream Girl. For Daisy's sake, I choose to believe that "Go" meant sing the song, and that he chose not to.

      @@meanpomeranians - No, it’s very clear what she says and what her intentions are. She tilts her head away from the stage as she says “Go”. He even acknowledges it before he leaves. If it had been what you’re suggesting, then she would have motioned toward the mic, but she didn’t. Again, go back and watch that part of the episode. From her speech to the line she sings before she tells him to leave, there should be no misunderstanding of her intentions. I would never have seen it the way you’re looking at it. It also falls short of Manic Pixie Dream Girl, because that completely discounts her character, and her half of the relationship between the two. It would be the same as saying Billy was the Manic Pixie Dream Boy for her, which also is not true.

      @@WillowRedDog I did watch it again. It may be clear to you. But to me, from my experience playing thousands of times on stage, where there are frequent musical cues (eye contact, head nods, etc), it was a cue to start the song. As we discuss, I think the writers aim was to tell a romance story, and didn't understand the nuances of band dynamics. In any regard, if you read the scene differently, that's fine. But neither of the two of us read it that way. At best, there's ambiguity there, which is a good thing in films and tv. Maybe it could be addressed in S2. "No, what I meant was..."
      Regarding the Manic Pixie Dream Girl, it's textbook. If you think HE is, then I believe you're misunderstanding the concept, because that gesture then resolves *his* character arc, not hers; and she is there *for* his resolution. That's textbook MPDG.

    • @WillowRedDog
      @WillowRedDog Год назад

      @@meanpomeranians We’ll have to agree to disagree about how the scene is seen, but if you read the book, while played out differently (like many aspects of the show), it’s the moment where Daisy let’s him go, so that each of their characters can do what’s right to move on with their lives.
      And that is part of the reason why Daisy is NOT a Manic Pixie Dream Girl. The show (and book) is called Daisy Jones & The Six. It’s as much HER story as it is his. If the whole thing was being told or looked at solely from Billy’s point of view, then maybe she could be perceived that way. But it’s not. It’s about both of them, as much as it is the band, and concurrently shows how both characters arcs exist at the same time, from each’s perspective. Text book would be that she serves no purpose but to show up and move along and resolve HIS story. He does just as much for her in that regard, so it’s equally about both characters.

    • @meanpomeranians
      @meanpomeranians  Год назад +1

      @@WillowRedDog MPDG has nothing to do with percentage of screen/narrative time or point of view. It has to do with the resolution of the character arc. At the resolution of each of the two main character's arcs, she existed to resolve his, so he may gain closure-indeed a rather conservative "return to family" closure. Her arc was unresolved, leaving her adrift, meaning that the narrative journey she went on existed to complete his. She was the "magical power" of the free spirit, which he rode for awhile but in the end abandoned. And if she pushed him in that direction, it's all the more reinforced. This disappoints me, because it's yet another woman in film whose artistic passion is reduced to the man's conservative resolution. I'm not trying to disabuse you of your interpretation, or change how you felt at the end, but to me it is quite textbook and a little cringe. Still enjoyed the show and their chemistry, but that's really unfortunate writing.

    No, no no! As much as I would love that continuation, there cannot be additional seasons, beyond this one. The original storyline ended perfectly! With Camila, the heart, the soul, the purpose of the whole story, losing her personal journey, there isn’t that something that binds all the band members together. So, whoever, do not consider continuing, what doesn’t need to be continued. I’d rather imagine what might be, than the potential of being disappointed. It’s perfect as it stands, so please, leave it alone.
