    “Worst job market in the last 100 years!” Not sure where he is getting his data, but I want what he is smoking! Most companies just went into “trim the fat” mode… Post pandemic really screwed peoples expectation on job and salaries. 2009 which was far worse the unemployment rate was 10%! In 2023 it was 3.5%… That is considered “full employment”!! And happens to be lowest in the history.. Just because someone didn’t give him a 400k salary right after graduation doesn’t make it the worst job market in 100 years. 2001 was far worse for tech. Companies were shutting down in droves. I remember Cisco announcing layoffs on their campus according to “building numbers”. The delusion is unreal!! 🙄

    Yes USA has hire and fire system. When economy is bad is is mostly fire and very less hire. The H1 people and F1 opt are very vulnerable. Us citizens are able to get unemployment benefits and can also work on mundane jobs till they get a regular job. This is banned for h1 people.

      Yes, also someone from backgrounds like product/ UX design and architecture. Not sure how that would compare with the tech industry layoffs but could be good to get a gauge on the overall job market scenario!

    • @nehajoshi1468
      @nehajoshi1468 5 месяцев назад

      Yes exactly. Because all we hear is about layoffs for (majorly) CS people. It would help to know about the situation for other fields, which is hardly spoken about, and see if it's the same there as well.

      Yes. My daughter graduated in Motion Media Design last year from SCAD and luckily got a job with a famous VFX company. But due to the long strike of writers in Hollywood, many of her colleagues got lay off and most of her batchmates are still looking for jobs. So this struggle is not only for tech people but others also face.

    Excellent video, lots of great advice ! But i disagree with his resume advice, recruiters take on an average 7 seconds to look at your resume, a 2 page resume comes across as very confusing and hard to narrow down on, the reader doesn't know what part to read.
    Also, at 37:11 listing so many skills doesn't make u seem knowledgeable but rather desperate and trying to applying to every job possible, employers are looking for a max of 5-10 top skills.
    But otherwise lots of great advice and a huge congrats to Saurabh for landing his current role !!

    • @reonjohn6313
      @reonjohn6313 5 месяцев назад

      If you don’t have prior work experience of 2-3 years, you will struggle. There is zero demand for tech as there no more VC funding thanks to high interest rates. It’s never going to come back to 2021-22 post pandemic highs.

    • @YudiJ
      @YudiJ  5 месяцев назад +1

      I think its really hard to predict what it will be in 2025. Stock market is recovering, we are seeing that interest rate hasn't increased (but also hasn't gone down much). Election is in November. So there too many factors to predict at this point. I would strategically plan this. I might need more context on your overall profile. There are people still getting jobs being in the worst job market but I think its pure hard work, pro activeness and a bit of luck (God's blessings).
