I got a couple tips for carving that I have learned as a instructor. The main difference between carving and basic S-turns is that the nose part of the edge and tail part of the edge follow the exact same path and also instead of the edge switch happening pointing down hill, it happens when going across the hill. To practice keeping a single edge path try doing S-turns without using your knees at all. By this I mean use only body weight by leaning back and forth to get on your edge. This may seem hard but with speed you can get on your edge a lot. It also helps to go on a non-busy day because once you go down the hill, you can ride back up and look at your track to make sure your front and back edge were following each other.

Did some hiking and shuttling Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this weekend. I’d never ridden a snowboard before and I’m pumped to feel comfortable cruising and carving. Lifts open Wednesday at Mt Hood and I’ll be up there all day!
Can you do a video about lift lines at resorts in this Covid environment? What precautions the Colorado resorts are taking.

I’m waiting for better conditions before I hit up Big Bear, but I have plans in December to get out to SLC to hit up the Ikon resorts there. Glad you are getting through the headaches. Stay healthy and well to teach everything you know to the little guy!

I live in Pennsylvania it is a sheet of ice half the time we open mid to late December
today was opening day for Northstar and Heavenly. i was at heavenly, did last minute reservations and lines where not crazy, snow was tons of fun.

Here in France we are in full lockdown at least until 1st Dec. Resorts keep postponing their openings. Hope there will be any season possible.
Snowbasin UT hasn't opened yet. It was supposed to open the 25th but got pushed back to the 27th due to not enough snow.

Concussion can last months... followed me to Disney a month after mine and my family and the family we hung out with are still traumatized by star tours when I tried to ride it. Very miserable experience for me and them. Oddly, I just fig it was not a huge deal I was covering my ears, eyes, and had my head between my legs to reduce the head spinning and head ache. Just something to consider I guess.

I was really disappointed to get a like challenge to save money on parking at Breckenridge. I just paid for parking there a week ago and had to pay more than what I make hourly to park. One of the main issues with snowboarding is people can't afford to do it. Now the people who can give us that information and get paid to do so can't help their supporters save money without us giving them revenue via youtube. Disappointing. If you type in BRECK, $7 OFF PARKING. No likes necessary.
