    I'm from the UK and my wife and I have snowboarded a lot of europe and america. Breck is definitely our favourite place. The runs are perfect for us with us not being too advanced. The people in general in the usa are just fantastic too always so friendly. Weve been devastated we had to miss this year at breck because of the usa travel ban. We hope to get back asap!

    Love your reviews, I only wish you would add one more thing to it. How family-friendly, or how good of a resort it is for bringing your kids. In terms of ski school for kids or daycare for babies. It’s really hard to find reviews that include that aspect. Although a lot of parents want to bring their kids, what if the kid doesn’t like snowboarding or skiing. Is there something else they can do while the parents are snowboarding?

  • @Shrugknight
    @Shrugknight 3 года назад +2

    Doing these scores with out a snow category is almost pointless. I get your idea about personal experience and hitting a pow day or not could effect it....but when people are planning a trip they are just sorta looking at the likelihood of quality snow. Midwest resort that gets 40 inches a year could be a 1to 2, Colorado that see 300 could be a 7 and resorts that routinely see 500 or more could be 9 to 10. You are missing in my opinion one of, if not the most important category. Just go off of historical data for this one.

    • @JohnathanBuckhouse
      @JohnathanBuckhouse  3 года назад

      It can all be hit or miss though. I went to the east coast and had a 6 inch pow day. Not normal and would of schedule the score. I could do what you said but we all know that. This is just a review of the core peace’s of a resort that are unchangeable. If you go to this resort you will see this..... I cannot promise snow but I can promise lifts and run types. Great example is CO this year, zero snow. I really appreciate the feedback though 🙏🏼

    Haven’t been skiing in years. When I did it was in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Sounds like the place has really changed a lot. Perhaps to over commercialized now days. My go to resorts we’re always Breck, Copper and Keystone, with Breck as my favorite. Generally we stayed in Dillon or Frisco and decided each day which resort we would go to. I mean seriously I remember being able to walk from public parking up to the main chair at peak 8 maybe 200-300 hundred yards, that’s sounds impossible today. As for food, I always packed my own and never came off the mountain, my time was to valuable. I was there to ski as much as possible instead of eating which was a low priority.

    Just went to Breck and Keystone. I had not been to Breck in about 28 years and went to Keystone last year. I enjoyed Breckenridge more than Keystone. I like how the blue runs are really wide. I think the food and lodge areas are nicer then Keystone as well. The scenery at Breck is a lot better than Keystone as well. The lift lines and crowds overall are probably the worst of any of the Summit county slops.

    First let me say I lived at the base of Keystone in the 1990s so I am somewhat biased and I haven't been skiing at Breckenridge since then. These are my gripes about Breck, but some may no longer be valid.
    1) Its big but all the hills are the same and point the same way. It doesn't have the variety of other ski areas.
    2) You can waste your day traveling between the different mountains.
    3) Having to park in the Keystone parking lot is worse than walking to the lift from my nearby place. But parking at Breck is the worst. It is far away and you would have to take a bus from the parking lot to the bottom lift. I hear they replaced buses with a lift but neither is fun compared to just being there.
    4) The bottom lift has/had a metal subway turnstile. What ski area does that? That lift also had the feature of a nearby dumpster and its associated stink.
    Breckenridge is inferior to Keystone in every way but one. If you are a young person wanting to go on vacation to ski and party, then Breckenridge is definitely the place to go in Summit County Colorado. They got the souvenirs, the bars, and the weed.

    Have you done Jackson hole? I would say that would get a total score over 80

    You should make a custom google map with a pin for each resort you have reviewed with its total rating and a link to the video

    Breck isn't overrated imo but it is definitely over crowded!

    It's expensive as fck but I wouldn't call it over rated. Highest elevation ski lift on this side of the planet. Pretty awesome place.

    The upper mountain is awesome. Lower mountain has a lot of easy stuff.

    For the Wisconsin resort review, you should review Trollhaugen!
