Back in the day growing up, (early 70's) we used to drive our tiller 12 footers while seated on the starboard side. You could also have mounted the transducer inside the hull near the drain plug using a "cup" .ade from a 2 inch long section of 3" PVC silicones to the floor of the boat. Put a little water in it, drop the transducer in and you're off.
Nice setup! For my seats on my 1436 I got those super comfy B100 seats and the seat slide rail mounts that bring the seats forwards a ways. No interference with the motor! They fold down out of the way easily as well. I can put up to 4 of those seats into my boat when needed. However, I usually just have 2 seats installed… and am able to slide them towards the middle to balance this skinny boat! (Thanks to the sliding seat rails) Boom… perfection
Thanks for the info video bud. I got the same one a few months ago and I’m in the process of making it a mud boat. I’ve been looking to start the wiring process to run some lights and accessories and was wondering how much foam was in these new models and how it looks under the seats. Now I know, thank you. I’m loving it so far. No rivets, less worries.
Thanks for the advise on where and what straps to get on a previous video creation of yours. Best regards to you and yours and Great video as always too 👍
Great video. Actually stealing my Dads boat today for a Christmas jon boat refresh project and you've managed to get me to add a couple more items that I didnt know existed. Could you update the description with the links to the straps, lids for the new storage boxes and transducer stern pad? Thanks for sharing.
@@SpiritedWrenchers let me see if I can find them. I tried to find the link for the straps for another guy and couldn’t find it. I bought them at bass pro and they were like $49.99 I think for the pair. Since the boat is so light, pretty much anything you find will be over kill and will work fine.
@@nocoastanglingI’ve had two sets of belt buckle brand ones for a couple years. I’ve been tossing around install ideas for them. My McClain trailer requires some creativity for the installs. The bunker position you did yours, seems like a good idea. But I’d have to figure out how to fasten them without the nuts scratching the bottom of my boat.
Man, started to cut into the back seat last night and ran into the same issue with that brace. Didn’t know it was even there due to no rivets. Really messed me up as no other videos showed this. Wish I’d seen your video before I started cutting 🙄
Also forgot to ask, what is the brand of those straps you use for your tie down? Tried to find the same ones you have on Amazon with no luck. Would you mind sending over the make/brand of these units? I'd like to add the same for my tracker and do away with the old school straps with the velcro. Thanks!
