I think i'll watch this Retro Rewind episode with my tea in a minute (i loved the Raimi Spider-Man films growing up) thanks for the nostalgia blast Matty :)
Back when every movie had a video game tie in. This game started being developed when spidy 1 was being filmed so it actually had time to be a good game
Loving the analyses of these movies I know like the back of my hands. Cool to get unique perspectives on a classic! The J Jonah Jameson voice at 9:44 was perfect 😂
Originally found you from the gaming/Star Wars content but I’m definitely vibing with these classic movie reviews too. Glad I found the second channel. Great stuff! Keep em coming bro!
I'll never forget trying for so long and finally getting to Ellis Island in the Spider-Man 2 game, thinking that maybe it wasn't something the game intended. Only for me to find things over there indicating that clearly the devs thought of everything! That game and this movie hold such a special place in my heart and they're the reason I was so excited to go to NYC for the first time years later as an adult. Looking up at the buildings, I could hear the movie themes playing in my head.
I remember seeing Spider-Man 2 as a 12 year old. Now I get to experience it as a fully developed adult that can process things more and appreciate it more. I can finally own my very own Spider-Man 2 movie ticket to frame because I didn’t get to 20 year ago. ❤️
Just watched this and the first movie for the first time in a long time. Apple plus had it in dolby vison & atmos. Perfect timing for the retrospective. The atmos in the bank scene is great.
Am I not supposed to have what I want?..What I need?? What am I supposed to do? - Peter Parker My favorite line, the most relatable scene. It's such a masterpiece of a movie. I thought you would have brought up this scene since it's the culmination of the struggle that he goes through, desiring to have things that are good for him but completely unreachable at the time. Him realizing that his efforts are seemingly getting him nowhere, yet there's still a slight chance of hope and faith, to keep going forward and doing what is right. Complete masterpiece. Awesome collector's edition by the way, wish I was lucky enough to have that, great video ❤
No it's not the memes the raimi Spider-Man movies are actually great themselves famous movie critic Roger Ebert named Spider-Man 2 one if the best movies of 2004
Lived on these movies as a child. A kinda funny and true story, when i was younger i suffered with hearing loss so had to watch my spiderman movies loud. One day my younger brother decided he would put his ride on car battery on charge himself causing a fire, i was so engrossed in spiderman 2 i didnt realise he set a fire behind me😂😂 really felt like that spiderman 2 scene when he looses his powers and saves the girl in the burning building. Love the raimi movies and tobey will always be my favorite spiderman
The first two rami spiderman films is what introduced me to spiderman and marvel as a kid and I been a mega fan of the character ever since my parents got me spiderman 1 on vhs when it first came out on home video and when spiderman 2 came out a got to rent it out at the video rental it was so cool out of all 3 spiderman 2 is my favourite of the trilogy
I was just listening to Ordinary by Train which was main song for the Spider-Man 2. Also at the end of the movie, the song is fuck fire. And then I get on RUclips and see this video
While the selection is very small. If there's a criterion collection Blu-ray for a movie you'll get some really nice physical goodies with the copies such as art books, interviews, and other little booklets. They make for a nice complete in box experience
Totally, absolutely Spider-Man 2 is the best movie precisely because it feels so human, so relatable, sure, Peter is Spider-Man and all of that, but he is also just Peter Parker dealing with his life as most of us are :) And I think that may be it's biggest triumph. This is one of my favorite movies of all time, I also don't watch a lot of movies but it is. ❤️
Just saw this movie thnx to ur vid I honestly thought it was great but I gotta say my fav spiderman is gotta be number 3 nothin beats Black Spiderman and that scene where he wakes up with the black suit on goated scene
best movie, of all time idc debate with a wall, this mf movie will teach you how to be straight up live life as a man and be a decent mf, how and when to care for others, as well as yourself, and deal with loss, self doubt and why/how to know yourself first and why it is the fall of many men. it checks every box in filmmaking storywise and cinematically/visually not just for the time it came out, and its literally the quintessential, perfect peter parker/spiderman story aside from that. ill stand on this hill till i die this shit the greatest movie ever (PLUS THIS MOVIE IS COMEDICALLY SOLID TOO AND THE CD SLAPPED I STILL HAVE THAT BITCH)
Tbh i used to love Spider-man 2 when I was a kid. But now its eh. The whiny always hung up on MJ that wasn't even cute thing was tiring in 2 and 3 but at least in 3 he gives her attitude back
Spiderman movie/game: great movie and awesome game Spiderman 2 movie/game: best in the series Spiderman 3 movie/game: decent but disappointingly flawed.
The whole series is gas sony robbed us of spiderman 4 im tired of the shit love interest “mj” and boy jr. Tom holland that spiderman is not hitting like it should
20 years later and i can say "i'm going to see Spider-Man 2 in the cinema next week." Imagine that
Same, Thank you Alamo draft house! Showing Spidey movies every Monday :)
I saw it here too in Oahu.
Is is playing in theaters again??!!

Picked up this and spiderman 1 on VHS at a thrift store the other day for 25c each. Watching them on a CRT with a big blanket and a coffee is so cozy.
My grandparents use to have the vhs of the first one and I remember vividly the music video that played after the movie 😂
Yeah I've had my VHS copy of Spider-man 2002 since I was a wee little 1 or 2 year old boy.

My favorite movie, idk how it looks better than basically any comic book movie that came out in the 20 years following
Still one of the dopest comic book movies ever, very few really comes close.
I love that you called out the hospital scene! That to me is just classic Raimi and feels like some Evil Dead stuff.
The action sequences in Spider-Man 2 is incredible
I just watched this last night for my dad’s birthday party, never has another super hero movie come even close to this masterpiece.
That hoodie is fire
Originally found you from the gaming/Star Wars content but I’m definitely vibing with these classic movie reviews too. Glad I found the second channel. Great stuff! Keep em coming bro!
I’m watching it in theatres on Monday April 22. I’m so excited man, reliving a childhood dream
Re-watching all of them in theaters this month. So excited to see Spider-Man two on the big screen!

Still the best Marvel film ever made. I don't know if it'll ever be topped.
Hell no
Thanks for posting this on the other channel. It's cool you're doing movies, and nostalgic ones at that.

Did you watch Spider-Man yesterday at the movies, it was a great experience can’t wait till 2 next week
This movie had so many iconic scenes. It's legendary and will always be stuck in my mind as well as the game forever
Been waiting for this
The train scene in this movie is one of my all time favorites.
I legit just watched it yesterday

Raimi spider-man trilogy is just like the star wars prequel, the memes make those movies age like wine.
No it's not the memes the raimi Spider-Man movies are actually great themselves famous movie critic Roger Ebert named Spider-Man 2 one if the best movies of 2004
The Spiderman movies are good movies though
Difference is that the Raimi trilogy is actually good
(Prequels are fun but not good)
I hope you’re not depriving yourself by not watching Spider-Man 2.1 because it’s the superior version of

Stills masterpiece. Saw twice in theatres this week😂
“…and it holds up better than any other adaptions aside from homecoming “
I thought homecoming was pretty mid ngl

Fun fact, Alfred Molina(doc Oc) was the henchman that betrayed Indy in the beginning of Raider’s of the Lost Arc.

Makes sense that Raimi would do violence pretty well, since he also directed the Evil Dead movies lmao
Just saw this movie thnx to ur vid I honestly thought it was great but I gotta say my fav spiderman is gotta be number 3 nothin beats Black Spiderman and that scene where he wakes up with the black suit on goated scene
Spider-Man 2 is probably the best solo superhero movie ever. It’s best the Spider-Man movie period
Spiderman 2
The Dark Knight
Captain America:Winter Soldier
These are all masterpieces of Marvel
Super classics
I just watched it last month too😂
Chris ray gun will be eyeing you 😂
Watch The Dollars Trilogy please.

i love Spider-Man 2
Raimi created evil dead. He’s a horror master. I believe that’s why he does death so well in his movies
One of the best super hero movies of all time
I don’t care if there’s a mass hate train rising in this movie, it’s still great, top 3 super hero movie for me!
I hate harry and mary jane in Spiderman-2 😂
I love the train scene because Joey Diaz is obviously on so much coke
This channel blowin up
Tried to watch the second greatest superhero movie ever made?? What a hardship that must've been....
Tbh i used to love Spider-man 2 when I was a kid. But now its eh. The whiny always hung up on MJ that wasn't even cute thing was tiring in 2 and 3 but at least in 3 he gives her attitude back
Spiderman movie/game: great movie and awesome game
Spiderman 2 movie/game: best in the series
Spiderman 3 movie/game: decent but disappointingly flawed.
I agree doctor strange in the multiverse of madness is a great movie
Finally someone likes doctor strange 2
The whole series is gas sony robbed us of spiderman 4 im tired of the shit love interest “mj” and boy jr. Tom holland that spiderman is not hitting like it should
Spiderman 2 looks better without HD. And honestly a good number of the film is pretty boring.
BS
Spider-man 2 is peak perfect writing except for Tobey's line delivery when he tells Aunt May the truth.
