Thanks for your kind words. Have you checked out Waverly, the placement pattern that uses this stitch? I'm working on a jacket with the stitch as well. I hope it will be available in a few months. In the meantime, if you haven't visited my web site (jamescoxknits.com) please do. There you can sign up for James' Knot Notes and get news, and offer, and tips. Cheers, James

Sorry the late reply to your question. This pattern is stretchy vertically, but firm horizontally. I'm using a version of it now on a new pattern for a Chanel-style jacket. It is supporting the tailored look. I hope you visited my website - jamescoxknits.com - to view all my patterns. And while they're signed up for my newsletter -- James' Knit Knots - because every issue includes a knitting tip. Cheers, James

This is lovely! It seems like it would make a wonderful texture for a dishcloth. Does this weaving technique work with a moss/seed stitch?

Hello, I agree that a dish cloth would be very nice. As for a moss or seed stitch, I haven't yet explored those options but I suspect they will work out nicely with a little effort. I am in the midst of creating other woven knitting fabrics. If you sign up for James' Knit notes on my we site I'll share what I develop over time. Plus you'll get a free pattern. Cheers, Jim
