Dave Amato has been their lead guitarist for a long time, but Gary Richrath is the guitarist I listened to from 1970 to 1989. He left in 1989, but sadly passed in September of 2015. REO has been a big part of my life and in my top 10 favorite bands.
When I saw the title, I didn't recognize it. But as soon as the singer started, it brought back the memories. A very moving song. Love it!

Yup. The music that's been called 'country' for the last few decades has been so watered down, it's unrecognizable. I like some of the real old-time country artists like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, and Johnny Cash.

Waaaaay back in 1982 we used the title "Time for Me to Fly" as our senior class motto. Certainly fitting. This album was the bomb in1982! Thanks for the memories :-)

This album came out in 1978. Written and recorded in the 70's. No synths. The mixing was tape recorded over on itself.

Another one of the most underrated bands of all time! Huge success in the early and mid 80s but I love their entire 70s catalog!

I always was a big fan of Kevin's phrasing and delivery. Saw the live a couple of times; they were great showmen. What a fabulous time to grow up in. One more thing for millennials to envy us for! Left this song as a message on an evil ex-girlfriend's answering machine in '80 while in college... She did not see the "funny" in my use of this song to break up.... I should call it an Escape song, as one of my roommates from UT Austin is her divorce lawyer these days and she's now working on divorce number 5. The only album title as good REOs from way back then was Joe Walsh--- The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get.
