All very nice but doing it without locking cam & crank and loosening the cam wheel can put the belt one tooth out of phase. If you must avoid locking the engine, mark the cam and crank. Fit the belt and check the marks still align. When it’s out of step, remove the belt and adjust the cam by one tooth so the tensioner pulls it back into line.
If he had put the belt on the upper pulley and the lower pulley, then turned the crank pulley back to take up the slack on the long side, he wouldn’t have fought so hard to get the belt past the tensioner and he could’ve tensioned it properly with fewer moves. 40 years of experience. There should be timing mark on the cylinder head or backing plate for cam pulley & timing mark on engine block or timing cover to align crank gear on T.D.C.. I always set up timing marks with number with number 1 cylinder firing. On a 4 cylinder engine, number 1 cylinder inlet/exhaust rocker arms siting what is called balanced, both rocker arms are sitting flat. Number 4 cylinder, inlet/exhaust arms should be rocking. So if you turn the crank shaft pulley back & forth 10 mm forwards then 10 mm right backwards, forwards again, rocker arms on number 1 cylinder won't move, remain flat, rocker arms on number 4 cylinder will rock up & down wards. That way you confirm the engine in correct firing order with number 1 cylinder firing. When carry out timing belt replacement, be sure to check cam, crank seals for oil leaks, replace as required & check timing belt tensioner pulley bearing make sure you can spin by hand makes no noise, spin quietly. You can also pop off plastic side cover on the bearing, insert some high temperature wheel bearing grease into the bearing race if you don't want to replace the tensioner bearing. Lastly, check your water pump for any coolant seepage or leaks. Good luck on your job. 🖐🇦🇺

Yo no entiendo nada de motores pero aparentemente parece que el tío sabe lo que está haciendo y desde mi punto de vista qué es limitado me parece que lo está haciendo bien cambiar una correa de distribución aparentemente no parece ser un problema però entiendo que és mas complicado de lo que parece ser...
Aquí en México es un Tsuru con motor 1.6 y ése tipo de motor está clasificado como el E16@@mariocastilla7852 y efectivamente, fue el Tsuru Sunny B-11... Saludos.

I think that engine should turn the opposite direction. The tensioner always sits on the driven side of the belt. Not on the drive side.
