    Very nice job describing this piece. I recently bought it from Titan on a sale they had for $629 and I'm very pleased with it. I hesitated buying this for a long time because I always prefer to buy USA made instead of Made in China, but after looking at the Legend Fitness 3135 plate-loaded and the EliteFTS plate-loaded leg ext/curl with band pegs, this just made the most sense for cost, space, and fully meeting my needs for performance. I do use the 35 pound plate hack on the stopper peg for both leg extensions and leg curls and the resistance curve is actually quite good. Just a note from 13:06 in your video where you set the machine up for leg curls - you need to have the weight post on the opposite side of the stopper peg because the post travels upwards in the opposite direction as it moves when performing leg extensions. I know you don't use the stopper peg so that was an easy oversight to make. I'd say for a home gym or small personal training studio, this machine fits the bill for 99% of the population and you won't be compromising quality of movement for the extensions and curls compared to much more expensive and larger units. It took me about two hours to assemble and dispose of all shipping materials, but I didn't rush. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase and satisfied that I made the right decision buying it.

    Thanks for spending the time to put this together. Have a few titan pieces, very satisfied with them.

      Thanks for watching! I just got their 34inch tricep bar and will be doing s review video of that this weekend. Titan has come up alot in regard to quality.

      Seems super easy, even the 1 leg with the 90lbs. What weight are you using for a challenging 8-12 rep range?

    • @halvorse
      @halvorse  Год назад +1

      It is pretty easy at that weight. I've found this machine works best for high rep range sets with a real focus on the eccentric. To answer your question though, for leg extensions in that rep range I'll use 5 45lb plates so 225lbs. For hamstring curls 135 to 160 is pretty killer.

      @@halvorse thanks for the reply. I'd have to stock up on 45's :)

      You got it! For real lol, that or just do some heavier one legged leg extensions. Buuut you can never have too many weight plates.

    Put a 25 or 35 pound plate on the little pin that blocks the leg extension/curl, this will solve the resistance curve problem. The weight will start in front of the machine and higher, you're going to have constant tension thru the whole movement

    • @halvorse

      I'll give that a shot thanks for the idea!

      Trying to visualize, so the 25lb plate placed on the pin will act as a stopper which will prevent the weight horn from settling at the bottom position?

      @@jamestyler3458 no you don’t, the setting for starting position operate separately from the positioning of the weight horn

    The extension machine seems pretty nice, but I have a leg extension/ leg curl attachment that attaches to the end of my fixed barbell bench and seems to do a pretty good job of stimulating the quads and hams. Plus I have only 66 lbs of Olympic plates and 500 lbs of standard plates that my leg extension attachment already uses. I'd have to buy more Olympic plates and that's another $100 to $200. I have a vertical leg press machine like yours, but it's made by Yukon and I like it. I love back-supported leg equipment and hate standing squats. I like belt landmine squats as well. I have my eye on that Titan Hack Squat/Leg Press machine for $1,900, but I'd hate to spend all that money when I have the Vertical Leg Press machine already like yours. Do you think you will ever need that Titan Hack Squat machine if you have the Vertical Leg Press machine?

    Great video ! Actually looking at getting one now. I’ve been using the Titan Tower for just about a year give or take. LOVE IT !!
    I do have a few questions though..
    Easy ones….
    1….. At 6’4.. 36 inch leg…. (Yeah.. no fun ha).. how far is it from the top position of the seat… to the calf roller ?
    2…. Is it only for olympic weights… or can standard weights fit ?
    Thanks for the video…
    New sub also 🤘🏻

    • @halvorse
      @halvorse  Год назад

      Cheers and thanks for the sub! So question 1: with the seat as high as it goes, it's 16" from the seat to the start of the calf roller bar. Question 2: it will only take Olympic plates. Some titan equipment comes with a standard weight horn, and an Olympic sleeve, but this piece is just a straight up Olympic weight horn.

    I bought a used valor fitness leg curl extenstion for $160, msrp $480 new. I haven't had the problems of no resistance at start of motion like others said with the Titan fitness version.

    How in the world does your back rest slide so smoothly back and forth ? I just bought this machine. And just putting in the back rest after loosening the knob completely and taking it off. Not yet having put the other screw. It’s a super tight fit. I have to hit it in order to move it back or front.

    • @halvorse
      @halvorse  Год назад

      Hmm could be a machining defect. Perhaps your piece is thicker causing a tighter fit. Try contacting Titan to see if they'll send you a replacement piece.

    Have you tried adding a band for leg extensions?

    • @halvorse
      @halvorse  Год назад

      No, but I've found that bringing the foot roller as far back as possible (almost so it's hard to get my legs behind the roller) really helps with the smoothness and weight of the motion to feel a much better burn. If I had any resistance bands, I would definitely use them though for the leg extensions.
