  • Hey all,
Today I wanted to do a care guide on a fish I have been keeping for a while now and one that I really enjoy.
The Cyprichomis Leptosoma aka Sardine Cichlid is a really cool Lake Tanganyikan fish that is a mid to top dweller in the aquarium.
These fish have great personality and are a maternal mouthbrooder.
Packed with colour and lots of fun, definitely a great fish to try out.
    Hope you enjoy!

Hello from 🇬🇧. Interesting video. Thank you.
I've just come by BOTH those fish & wish to get some.
    Question:
Hi. I have a DWARF cichlid aquarium. It recently occurred to me that there are a lot of SMALL Cichlids that are NOT dwarf (particularly Lake Tanjanyikan fish), I'm well aware there are plenty of large fish from thst area.
What would you say is the DIFFERENCE between a SMALL Cichlid & a DWARF Chichlid? They can be the same size yet some are not classed as dwarf. Thoughts?
    Thanks.

@acrawley5128 Thanks. Only just seen your reply.
Having thought about it, surely the SMALL Cichlids are just small but the DWARF cichlids have a larger version of the same fish. What do you think? 🇬🇧

Would these be ok mixed in with Comps and Fronts or would that make the tank be a bit busy for them?!

    • @BlakesAquatics

Fronts would eat them i reckon. Comps may be ok

Hi quick question. Bought cyps a year ago and I have half but what I realized is they need more feedings than just once a day. Once I did that it’s been very successful and no fish died for six months. But during the successful six months I know at least one fish goes for food every time but spits out food too. It’s not fat of course and not too thin and it’s been with me for a year I feed them new life spectrum the very small sized pellets. .5 mm. Is this normal behavior.? Is it bc they have food in their mouths already ? The other cyps are bigger and fatter and I don’t know that do spit food out either. Just trying to do my best when I receive my next shipment from you. In addition I ordered brine shrimp eggs a week ago. Will try that too but anything I should or shouldn’t do?
