on 9:05 and your ruler only having one trait, yes that is a totemist thing where their rulers can only ever have one trait but that trait is always positive (so that it can work with their religious mechanic of being able to "keep" ruler traits)
Totemist leaders only get one trait, but it's always positive. This is meant to work with the Totemist ancestor veneration, or whatever you wish to call it
@@VasiliyOgniov Quarbit didn't take the most advantage of it, but natives can (at least a couple patches ago) do a humiliation war against any neighbor, which, combined with a strong native federation, means tons of monarch points for nothing. You get the war chief/peace chief event often, and it results in you being able to get all 10 traits filled out before the Europeans arrive (as well as tons of tribal lands to settle). By that point, you don't really care what your leader's trait is, as you already have 10 other good ones.
Yeah, a really nice way to reward you for doing something usually very difficult, introduce and Easter egg into a regular game (not custom nations and no saves converting), while not making it so easy as to ruin the game!
What can I say, we're pretty cool. Little rock fact: there's a volcano in Tanzania whose lava is only 550-650 degrees Celsius. It has a unique composition called natrocarbonatite and is found nowhere else on Earth, and two of its component minerals (nyerereite and gregoryite) are amongst the rarest minerals on Earth-I only know of one other place where they're found (an ancient pluton in Kola, Russia).
@@eafesaf6934 Properties are known to us. They're anhydrous and they react with atmospheric moisture and decompose into other minerals within hours of being erupted. 9:03 - It's a totemist thing to make the totem picking of previous rulers easier. You get a buffed version of a single trait typically, (IIRC) so there's that.
oh for sure, I like working with the guaranteed numbers though. The trade will *probably* be collected, but I don't always check what node I'm building in
@@QuarbitI personally value the trade income more, because it's easier to get lots of trade income bonuses than production income bonuses, but I can understand wanting to work with guaranteed numbers.
The thing with the Texan separatists in Canada is normal. Norway had colonies in both regions; when they had unrest in the south, the Texan rebel tag spawned and set their culture to Norwegian. Because you had Norwegian separatism in the north, the game just snacked that rebel tag from there.
I'm telling you bro, everyone secretly knows the Americas are the most fun part of EUIV. why tf would you actually make a western colonial empire in an early modern map game, the coolest shit happens when Europe gets fucked up
The Third Odyssey mod updated for 1.35 if you get an itch to play NA again. What if Byzantium flees to the new world to escape the Ottomans? Very flavorful mod, not as much content as Anbennar but we are still waiting on its 1.35 update
If you play with RNW and aren’t getting any achievements you should try using the RNW Improvements [Updated] and More RNW Tiles [Updated] mods, as far as I know they’re still up to date
Woah woah woah, where were you that a tornado passed by your house recently? I’m an Indiana guy myself and a few weeks back a tornado passed literally right through my neighborhood, ripped the roofs off several houses but thankfully mine was untouched. Then a few days later while visiting a family member there was a hailstorm while I was INSIDE their house…weather has been awful as of late!
It's so weird, I could have sworn reforming as a native put you 2 techs behind the person you reformed off and gave you all institutions, I wonder when they changed it as that is super annoying.
nahuatl, mayan, and inca give you 80% of whoever you reform off of. I could've sworn native government types had the same thing but not anymore at least
long ago i did mighty (nahuatl) caddo and maybe 2 years ago i did the USA (starting with england) . it was okay but still a loooott of waiting and doing little.
my guess for why this playthrough is so popular is that it is a nation almost no one plays that has a name that they recognise. There is only so interesting a playthrough as France or the ottomans can be and hre tag 20 isn't exactly a name that demands attention.
Castile getting destroyed by France is not really weird considering they start out with tons of disasters and most of the times Aragon becomes a republic so they're much poorer and much weaker than France
Not sure about your opinion on EU4 mods, but some QoL ones would be great, like the Bigger UI, Simpler peacy treaty, and so. Would look better but it is understandable if you're not for them.

2.9k and counting. You better start recording that part 3.
In my last game as Japan, France really died before 1550...until it was re-established by Burgundy. Literally immortal one
I love how Europe always falls apart when you play in a different continent
Plays EUIV
Casually mentions a fckin tornado uncomfortably close to his house
Continues playing
That's just Midwestern life, baby.
Can’t believe the Iroquois put the Creek on a reservation 😭 Nevermind all tribes must vibe
Amen mate 😅
I wanna see the sunset invasion! Get those likes lads an' lasses!
we *DID IT!* :D
