Sorry I had to reupload the video because premiere pro likes to play games with exports, and I didn't catch the glaring problems until it was too late ANYWAY 3.5K LIKES FOR PART 2
Honestly, every time I see Australian/American natives being played I just picture the player role playing as the chief and going “Ok, we’ll just invite everyone in the federation, unite the country, take out a bunch of loans and develop the renaissance, once it spawns in Europe”. Then all the people look at him confused: “Bro, we’re natives! We hunt kangaroos and buffalo for a living. What is loans? What is renaissance? What is Europe?”
I mean in all seriousness, in a lot of ways - culturally, ethnically, linquistically, historically... the similarities are overwhelming. Politically and geographically though, well, not so much.
Another option when playing tribal anywhere is to stay as a settled tribe and abuse tribal dev through the irrigation building. Each irrigation building gives 0.01 development per month. Get enough provinces with irrigation and you can get a 1000 dev province.
My funny maybe-true Australia fact is that Kangaroo means “I don’t know what you are saying”, it was given to the animal because a colonist was asking “what is that creature over there called?” and the response from the native was “Kangaroo”
Ternate and Tidore are perfect vassals, but you only have to have one of them as their misson tree gets them free colonist after other country doesn't exists anymore edit: you just found out thiso one mimute later
Remember that if you time out an event it chooses the top option. So if a good republican leader dies and you want the admin guy anyway, just let the competent dead body rule until time out. Get about 2-3 extra month ticks of the good ruler. Can always sneak 1 month tick without timing out the event if you want something else.
Just played this myself and found another small bug, if you never switch from Clan Council the event at 4:40 will keep finring with a MTTH of 12 months and you can forever pick the +50 adm option, i think i just made 2000 free admin mana.
Im reading your comment and playing the same game, listening to my speed 5 monthly ducat tick when I get a pop up with this same event. I got it 5 times in a row though from dec - january in 1473. Definitely something there to break. Edit - event triggered 5 more times the next year. 😆
Thanks to this video i knew the exploit but also thanks to this video i was sure I could create the federation and still get the achievement. I mean I still got the achievement. I just needed to culture swap and create Marathas to be able to form Australia and instantly declare war against Hungary that i created day before tag switching. Happy, little accident. I do recommend doing this achievement this way
Australia as a continent depends on your definition of continent. As an Aussie, I kinda see Australia as a sub-continent these days like India, but Oceania as the whole. But again depends how you're feeling.
I still dont understand why when you form a native federation the game doesnt asks you if you want to keep the colors and the flag, I certainly dont want to use a nation designer flag 😢
Thats just another proof that the Ai concentrates on the player xD ive never seen Vijianagar colonize. I can guarantee you that next thing you see will be ottomans kilwa or a bloody siberian tribe demand your gold mine in the middle of the desert
Doesn't work. How am I supposed to do that: "You gotta ctrl click somewhere that has its port in an unexplored region." I can't click on an unexplored region without a conquistador.
you would need to be able to discover north america while not being able to place down any colonies so you would need an insane amount of colonial range then you would need to pray to god that the target native didnt join a federation already or died to a colonizer
conquer the malacca node, feed trade into it, profit(?) then wait for imperialism if you're sane. otherwise, buy a trade company somewhere in europe and start from there, or hop across asia into africa, egypt, then the balkans
Unfortunately you can't form a federation for the achievement, since federation changes your tag and the achievement requires you both start as and currently are an Australian native or the Australia tag itself. You have to either do this exploration trick but just conquer/colonize the other natives the old fashioned way, or you can instead stay migratory the whole time, try and conquer as much tribal land as possible and then use the T5 "reform into a horde" option. I had issues with expansion after that because even with all of AUS you're not that strong, plus a lot of your land might be horribly devastated from the native grazing. Probably need to be more aggressive in unifying Malacca, but I also considered that going for the new world and grabbing Mexico and Peru from either those natives/the CNs might be the play.
Honestly I wish they hadn’t added any tags to Australia rather than what they have now. Playing then is miserable, only thing that comes close is isolated North American nations. Either they should have committed to something new and fun or they don’t do anything, rather than just a boring nothing slog for hundreds of years
Meriam. It's a Papuan language of people that traded around the Eastern Torres Strait. Most Aboriginal Australian languages just referred to Australia as "the land", so this is the closest I could find to a distinct name for the landmass
I don't understand why the "meta" is republicanism and frequent elections. I like political dynasties and sortition more because you almost always get rulers with at least 10+ total monarch point generation, and you stay at 100 republican tradition
Every time you re-elect someone, you also get 50 points in one category. And since it takes 15 years to upgrade a ruler to max, you can usually get a decent 10-15 year window of a max stat ruler. Once you stack enough tradition, this can be consistent enough to give you the equivalent of something like a 14 point ruler on average
Fact checking the two Australia facts: considering that the Australian natives have been around here for over 40'000 years, hunting boomerangs and toy boomerangs (the returning ones) are more or less contemporary with each other. They're also used as musical instruments and hunting decoys. As for the continent thing, Australia used to be considered its own continent, it is now considered part of the Oceania continent.

Here in New Zealand (at least in my experience) we call it takeawayS.
