He really is the most powerful trainer in the world how long it took to defeat him not to mention we didn’t have the up to date friendship level we do now in the new games so we really had to rely on believing our Pokémon were able to tank the hits and keep fighting 😢
This song is extremely nostalgic for me. Leaf Green was the first Pokémon game I ever beat. It took me so many tries to beat the champion. When I did it, I felt so proud! Thanks for the awesome remix.

You know, I never really liked this guy. I personally preferred the friendly but still competitive rival characters like Barry(Platinum Version), Cheren, or Marnie, but screw anyone who says this asshole didn’t have the single most epic and hype battle theme in Pokémon. Hell, he’s the only rival that could legitimately say he was the Champion, and the first champion to have a team based on balanced type matchups, which is funny considering he was the first champion to begin with.
Even to this day, I feel a little sad if I can't loosely model a team after Blue/Green's balanced team. Like, I played through Platinum a few months ago, I ran with Starpator, Spiritomb (yes, I went to the trouble), Steelix, Azumaril, Roserade, and Infernape. I loved it and it just felt right, you know?
Clark Side Same, I’m building up a team in my current playthrough of Platinum. So far I’ve got Monferno, Budew, Luxio, Buizel, Starly, and Bidoof(HM Mule).

Clark Side My endgame is actually have a rotation team with Infernape, Gastrodon, Rampardos, Garchomp, Weavile, Roserade, Scizor, Staraptor, Spiritomb, Floatzel, Luxray, Abomasnow, Heracross(Hatched from an egg I bred from my SoulSilver game because headbutt is way better than honey), Vespiqueen, Darkrai(Postgame only), Shaymin(Postgame only), and Giratina(Postgame only).
