Awesome video :) You asked for sugestions how you could test the Extrema Ratio DMT so...maybe you could try to -split a smal log (by bating with abother piece of wood on it) - see if it cuts paracord good -mabe a few other things like paper cutting and cabbord cutting test -at the very end you could try to cut a tomato or an onion to see if it is still sharp :) Have a nice day. :)
I really appreciate you taking the time to post these suggestions and I will definetly try them all I like the tomato cut at the end😉👍 stay tuned for the review video in 2 weeks!
"Ferrari" of knives while they use only N690 stainless steel at 67-68 hrc on their blades?? That's not Ferrari, that's Fiat at best... Military knives, should be made of more durable materials. Steel's like 3V, Vanadis 4 Extra, even the old Carbon V steel, that KA-BAR uses, provides more durable edges, than any stainless steel out there. Extrema Ratio isn't a bad company, they just make good looking futuristic style knives, great design and good built, but in the same time, they are a bit overpriced for the quality of the steel you get. Same goes for Fallkniven, but at least, they provide better quality steels and blades without "V" edges. Anybody who really uses and knoes about knives, understands how much superior is a knife with zero convex edge and laminated steel. However, there is only 1 real high quality soldiers knife on the market, that is built as it should, and that's the Mille Cuori made by TRC knives.
Goodmorning... 🙂👋🏻... 🙄 what to say ... Produced by Uddeholm, Vanadis 4 Extra is an excellent carbon steel, with excellent properties in every field. It can be used mainly for knives subject to great stress, such as camp knives. Considering it as the non plus ultra is wrong: already for the cost: in Italy it exceeds 400 € ... What makes the difference is the tempering and the treatment of the blade, in this ER excels and the DMP costs about 280-240 €. The difference is not small with the 1000 Hearts knife. I noticed the same difference between the model Apolalypse and the model FOX XL, same steel the first costs double the XL. In the end, the question is whether or not a carbonaceous knife is better than a knife with a stainless steel blade and whether it can be sharpened easily. Best regards from Italy. 🇮🇹😃🖖🏻🤙🏻
@@ndrea66 Greetings from Crete Island Greece! I love Italy and Italian knives! You Italians always make good quality products and Maniago, is famous for their cutlery. I own many Italian knives, I own 2 Lionsteel M4 knives for example. Extrema Ratio is a high quality knife company, however, since they use lower quality steel and materials in general, they could be less expensive than they are! By the way, in our local accent here in Crete Island (South Greece) we still use some Italian words. Like parasoli !!! Some people here, don't say ομπρέλα ,which means umbrella, but the say Parasoli !!!
Extrema is high quality and quality comes at a certain price, these blades are made in italy from European materials and checked and sharpened by hand. If there are any issues with the blade you have great warranty conditions, and these knives do not get stamped by the millions so they have a certain exclusive element attached to them which also makes them retail in a higher price segment.
S35VN steel is harder and more brittle than N690. That means, that both don't use proper steels, for the style of the knives they built. These knives should have been made from durable steels (3V, Vanadis 4 Extra, 52100, 80crv2) are some of the steels, these makers should have used on these knives.
