I have only seen the directors ending until today when I rewatched it on Netflix and was like wtf? This is not the ending I remember, happy there is an alternate happy ending
really? I downloaded the movie and it had director's cut. never knew that was not original ending until I found this video. but director's cut seems best ending to me since it make sense to the story.
It's genius that In the director's cut ending Evan's mother says "not again" so it makes you think that her previous babies had the power to go back in time too and killed themselves like Evan.
The first ending is the best one and so glad it was the first one I got to watch. When he tells says “goodbye” as a kid to her it just makes it all the more emotional. And oasis rocks!!!
@@anubhavpal5782 I mean, it's technically possible but the chances are slim to none. With the guy just walking away the movie implies that they'll never meet again.
1st one is the best, makes you think how every time you walk on a busy street there might be one random person in the crowd who might have changed your life in a similar fashion and only he/she knows it. And you will never know yourself or meet ever again.
You should read midnight library! It’s about a girl who dies, and when she dies she ends up in a massive library with every book representing her life if she made a different decision
Nah, the other 3 kids ended up doing well for themselves. Evan's existence was the root of all of the problems he tried to fix. I always felt like this was the true ending of the movie.
I always thought the Directors Cut was the best ending, but thinking about it now I reckon ending 1 is tougher. It's a sustained sacrifice, instead of a one-and-done sacrifice.
I think I prefer the 1st over the 4th honestly. I like seeing that letting someone go makes their life better then keeping it that way. The 4th certainly is more impactful though
The 4th is the answer to "What would life be like for others if I never existed" Sometimes the answer is, "Better for everyone", because some people just shouldn't exist.
Rajid Salek It's a depressing thought that many people have when depressed. Sometimes they're right. Sometimes the best of a person is only shown due to their death being to save others. That's what Heros do.
I honestly don't like the first 3 endings...I feel like the 4th one stays with you and actually makes you think. If the other two babies before Evan died as well does that mean they went through the same thing he did?
+Stephanie Monge I think that's what was implied with this ending. I saw directors cut first and the ending did stick with me and it all tied together so perfectly. Then when I saw the movie a few years later it was one of the other lame endings that does nothing for the story.
+Stephanie Monge Yeah of course women always like men's ultimate sacrifice where evan killed his existence and Keliegh marries. Sure 4th one is the heart breaking but Thank God men are not that dumb in real life. All I'm trying to say that all endings are good and have their equal importance. I love the one where Evan decides to live either with keliegh or without her.
+Hassan Zameer How did you turn this into a sex issue? Just because a woman likes the ending and you do not, it does not mean it's an ending for women. In fact I could vouch that it's not for women at all on the basis that A BABY KILLS ITSELF IN THE WOMB. Stillbirths aren't exactly next to kittens on the "What women love" list. Also men have sacrificed their lives for the greater good since the dawn of time, you're quite "dumb" to think otherwise.
+i Marjibi Yeah, I agree with you. As it was stated in this movie, you can't make everything perfect without sacrifices. Other endings suits more for comedies or ramances
Wrong 4th makes most sense due to that fortune teller scene about the whole you weren't meant to be here you have no soul also how did he survive a whole another brain rewrite
Who believes fortune tellers? 4th is depressing i just watched the movie, it should have ended like he saved everyone or break up with kay and move on@@roziicrafts
I like the 4th one, because it gives me the idea that the reason her other babies died before birth is because they also had the "curse", so they had to do the exact same thing as Evan... Trippy ain't it?
The trippy thing is when you watch in for the 1st time with the 1st ending. And when you watch it the second time with the 4th ending without knowing there are different version. I had to check if there was another ending on youtube to prove to myself I didn't make it up or something.
I've seen the first version on TV about two or three times, maybe it's just me but I don't remember her talking about having any still borns in that version nor her visiting the psychic.
Every single fucking ending is the best thing i've seen for an ending of a movie. Every ending has something that made it special in a very different way from each other. I just love this movie even more that before i watched this video👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The stillbirths and psychic were on the director's cut only. They added it just to give more sense to the alternative ending, but I agree that this version is better.
+EmazingVlogs I don't like it because I think he made better choice in the 1st ending. He was more strong-willed in the 1st choosing living a life without his Eternal Spotless love. In the 4th he was like "fck it, life's too difficult sob sob ;-;"
No, it doesn't draw any proper conclusion. There can be infinite no. Of stillbirths that can follow if the pattern is followed. That's a chaotic, sad circle.
the theatrical ending was far better in my opinion. It made me think that after all that happened, Evan still loves Kayleigh if he really does love her then he would let her go
The most beautiful thing about the first ending is that everything is finally possible between them without destroying each other lives. One of the best time travel movies ever, solid world building.
ChaosPod I hated that ending it was too hard to enjoy because evin was meant to be with her so much but the first ending was great as it shown a slight chance of them getting back together unlike the far fetched version 2
The ending they chose I loved because it showed how much Evan loved Kayleigh by walking away but a part of me wishes they went with the happy ending because they deserved to end up together.
I watched it the first time and I cant FUCKING stop thinking about the hugh sacrifice he had to make at the end... just think about it. Never be able to be with the one that you always wanted. never be able to KNOW her. And she doesn't know you either. This is one of the most genius and Incredible movies ive seen and Ashton Kutcher id one of my favorite actors.
Jodie Holmes Two minds think alike ;) Ashton Kutcher is a brilliant actor. He annoys me from time to time but he's great at acting. This was the first time I saw him act so serious because most of his movies are comedies. You should see his other movie "Jobs" which is based on the former CEO of Apple Mac. it was also dramatic and sad. It amazes me how Ashton can become some funny, light spirited guy to a frustrated, depressed broken man.
+Danneh W I love the movie itself it is great but if he told the dad to love, care and be a good dad to both his kids wouldnt it be a perfect ending for everybody. Of course we dont know what would happen afterwards but he should have been tried it instead of threatening him with explosive. Plus it is so meaningless to him painting a murderer in both cases I mean there is no him to drow it they just tried to make them looks like connected to each other and I think 3 dead born babies are before him just like him killing themselfs after going through all different stories, it could be great if they make a movie about one of those babies life
@@asuraspath2262 that's because Evan only mentions Kayleigh's name when he told her dad not to touch her again. The dad did stay true to his word but turned his anger towards her brother Tommy instead.
I think the last ending misses on one important point. The whole idea of the film was the huge consequences of your actions, thats why all of the babies kill themselves, by itself thats seems fine but killing themselves is also taking an action. By their deaths they made their mom keep trying to get pregnant which not only results in unknown bad outcomes but at least one that they know of, their mom is now really disturbed by it and tries again, meaning that the main character might just have doomed his mother to suffer and misery by committing suicide
I like it as while the obvious motive presented is to remove himself as a variable and undo all the changes that got all nested up through his various "edits", it really illustrates the desperation. It's selfish in a way, as he can't know everyone will turn out okay at all, but hey at least he won't be around to see it and feel guilty about it anymore! It also does indeed fail to close the loop, as considering the stillbirth subplot the movie had basically already played out twice, and that's without counting Jason's side of the family and any potential siblings further back in the family tree. Even though any other ending implies that it'll all happen again if Evan ends up having kids at all.. can't blame Jason for going "crazy" when he knows all the terrible shit his kid(s) are doomed to go through on top of his own torment.
on the other hand, she had miscarriage before. kids who were not meant to be. perhaps they also realized the same thing and ended it in the womb to at least minimize the impact. As the dad said, it should have ended with him, and who knows what secrets he holds and carried with him?
Only the babies of Jason were doomed. I believe Evan was the last one of them since his dad was in the psychiatric institution. Also babies can't choke themselves cause they don't breathe in the womb, but that's just nitpicking.
I watched the movie as a kid and just recently decided to rewatch it out of some nostalgic feelings. I did NOT know there are four endings... One of the things I remember from watching the movie as a kid is Kaylee walking in the white suit, Evan and Kaylee looking at each other, and the two of them deciding to walk on. Imagine my shock when rewatching the movie now: I was a kid, but I probably would have remembered Evan committing suicide, right?! Did I rewrite my memories?!?!?! So ok, I found information on the movie and this clip - that you for that, by the way, now I know I'm not crazy. I guess the fourth ending makes sense in a way, and the two other stillborn children make you think... But I still like the first ending more. The fourth ending is way too depressing for my tastes. I really don't like what it implies - that life would have been better for everyone without Evan in it. I don't think that's right - just think about his mom - and also I don't think that's a good message to put in a movie. Now, the first ending, in contrast: Evan gives up something he thinks he needs (his life with Kaylee together) and because of that everyone turns out fine. Lenny is not crazy, Evan is a successful psychiatrist or something, Evan's mom is happy and healthy, Kaylee is perfect, Tommy is probably ok, and the woman and her baby are not dead. This ending always made me think of the saying "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it is yours. If it doesn't, it never was." It's a better message than "life is better without you, go commit suicide", don't you think?
This exact thing happened to me. I saw ending one years ago when it first came out then years later I got the dvd and it was ending 4. I was thinking wtf?! Even the alternate endings on the dvd didn't have ending 1. I was telling people about it and saying it had Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis playing when they pass in the street. The only other endings it had were 2 and 3. I knew I hadn't imagined it and thought it was a Mandela Effect but now I know it wasn't. I much prefer that ending to the directors cut. Not even just because it's not as sad but I just like it better. The music playing over the top and everything just feels better in general.
Fourth ending makes you remember this movie. First one just makes it another positive feel good film. Also the miscarriages and crazy dad trying to kill Evan are explained by this. The stillbirthed babies were his fathers and probably had the same curse. Just a more mind blowing and interesting one
Everyone is ending 4, ending 4 is totally the best, the most powerful. But everyone forgets the most cliche as well. The tragic hero. Sacrificing himself for the greater good. Very Cliche, not to mention indeed giving me the image that the other 2 babies did the same. 2nd ending suffers from the same problem. To cliche he gets the girl in the end as well. Its the problem in a lot of movies. Never moving on. And that is why I mostly like ending 1 the best. Everyone moves on Evan stays alive as well and learns the lesson not to go into the past again. There is plenty of sacrifice for Evan in this ending as well. Never being with what he sees as the love of his life again. third ending is done a lot better in the anime ovas falling 5 centimeters a second.
***** Yeah, but the ending 4 don't break the apprent logic in all alternative futures as it seems there is no possible future which all the best for everyone. It seems it need to have some pain for one or another. Well, a suicidal child is the least pain possible in order to create a brilliant future for everyone (except for the noborn).
Wanderley Caloni Why do the others break the logic? They do not, he goes back to the party and says never to talk to him again. It leads to happiness as he is the spill were everyone becomes unhappy through. There is no evidence presented in any point in the film that suicide has to be the option. It does not show that it has to be the end point. And he was born we were there we saw that timeline. Him killing himself does not make it that his future did not exist. As we and he himself were observers of it. Also his mother would be stressed for the rest of her life. They just do not show that. She probably would die again of cancer just like in that one future where he was so hurt.
***** Yeah, I haven't thought about the easy ending for his mother marrying again and having anoher child. Anyway, if he can change all the future I don't see why he can't kill himself before born (except for being creepy). You're right about the hapiness balance in the party versions, thought. It's kind a poetry.
The theatrical cut (the first one here) is the best but in connection with the happy ending - he may lost a girlfriend but in the same time saved her and her brother, his dog could live, lenny was his best friend in the college and everything was nice then... Tommy was religious, Lenny is the best friend and now when he's 28-30 years-old - he could make a good relationship with Kayleigh :)
First Ending - Neutral Second Ending - Happy Ending Third Ending - Bad Ending, he gets thrown in jail for following her home. Fourth Ending - Sad suicidal ending
The first one was the one I watched when I saw the movie for the first time and I think it's the best one, everyone gets a happy ending but the main character will always live with regret for the rest of his life and I think that's way more painful and cruel than dying and have a quick realise from the pain.
I saw this movie a couple of years ago, with the directors cut ending. Rewatched it today, and now it was the theatrical cut ending, I absolutely had no idea that there were multiple endings, but I absolutely loved the theatrical ending, definitely better than director's cut imo. Also an oasis song to end a movie can never be wrong
Best movie ending ever. I love the way he understands that the only way of saving her, everyone else and he himself, was just never meeting her when they were child. And the movie ending is a bit tragical because after all those years, in that moment he could’ve met her (as adults) and maybe she could fall in love with him, but again: life has taken different courses for both of them and maybe she was already married or she just wasn’t the same person as he thought he knew in the past. He understood that the best way to stop suffering was to just letting her go
+Asad ”The Random Tormentor” Shah It shows us that there are no consequences to your actions if you change the past, which there should be. It just feels like nothing that he did mattered because he still ends up with her.
+Asad “The Random Tormentor” Shah the idea is that if you change a bad outcome the world will revolve until it takes that away from you. by theory to save the qomen amd the baby he needs to kill himself (4th ending)
christina williams The problem is that this is a movie that's all about how changing the past can have devestating consequences in the future. This ending basically tells us that there are no major consequences, only minor ones. And in the end, these problems will all solve themselves.
First one is by far the best. It's the best conclusion to their story. It's sad in that the only thing Evan could do to make the love of his life happy was to not be in it. He'll continue to live his own seemingly successful life, he gets to finally move on knowing that Kayleigh's happy but he'll always have a void in his life. The fourth I honestly don't like. It's far too mean spirited.
The first ending: bittersweet, by trying to be with her, he ruined the life of everyone he loves, so he chose to let go The second ending: the best ending, by letting go of her, he ends up accidentally finding her again and starts fresh with her like he never met her before The third ending: he gets a restraining order for stalking her The fourth ending: wait... what fourth ending? What the hell are you talking about?
I am quite surprised to see how active the comment section is for a 2004 film which was trashed by critics I love them but i would not have seen it if it was not recommended by my friend or read the reviews first
The very first ending I experienced was the director's cut ending and it made me very sad for many days. and then few years later I watched it again with theatrical cut and all those feelings i had for the first time i watched this movie became resolved. It almost felt like i watched whole different film. Brilliant movie. 10/10
Wow, I saw the directors cut just now, and was interested in the ending and the possibility of the first two stillbirths being the same powers and same kind of story. Typed in the butterfly effect ending and found out there were 3 others! xD
This is the most fascinating movie i've ever seen. I just finished it for the second time and i got the same chills again. Don't know what else to say man. I wish i never existed...
The 4th one is in my opinion the best one, it's the one that makes the most sense when you connect it to the miscarriage his mother had before him. He wasnt the first one :) The other endings are so....."hollywood" but the 4th makes a bigger impact on you. He sacrificed himself for the other people.
For about ten years until today I only knew the theatrical one. Today I saw the director's cut ending. I was just searching for the first one and the other endings just blew my mind! Now, my heart is with the happy ending. And I think that would work. The kids were not with their fathers anymore.
a baby killing him self ? .. no, not my type of thing too dark and come on it is a bit stupid.. the one when they meet up and suddenly they start drinking coffee .. i think she's too easy or too slutty if she meant coffee if you know what i mean :l when he walks behind her that was better and seems reasonable . i think the one when they just walk past each other is the best .. realistic and happens to pretty much everyone.
My favourite film of all time, I watched the directors cut countless times, didn't even realise there was an alternative ending until after the 30th time of watching this film 🤣
I remember me and my cousin were talking about this and we had both seen two different endings. I had seen the one where he kills himself in the womb and she had seen the one where they walk past one another. I kept saying “The ending was so dark” and she was confused hahahaha
I think I understand the fourth one, since all of them have the power every child she has actually does get born but eventually goes back in time to kill themselves
I grew up with Ending 1 where my family and I watched it, and I was upset when I realized that I have bought another copy of Director's cut. But both 2 and 3 would have been amazing otherwise. Otherwise, one of the most unique thriller movies I've ever watched in early 2000's
I love movies of this kind of genre and plot. And I loved the Director's cut ending because that's what I saw first and it made perfect sense about the movie.
I fucking like this movie. I first saw this movie when released, back then i watched 3 times the movie with the first ending. Now I just downloaded the movie and watched again and, WHAT THE FUCK??? WAS A DIFERENT ENDING (the 4th). So I came on youtube and seached for "butterfly effect endings" and I was shocked with four endinds. I was expecting a happy ending again and I cried like a little girl watching the 4th ending this time! Dude! THAT HIT ME HARD
+sguitas Hahahahahahahahahahahahha I did exactly the same. It was also my third or fourth time watching this movie. I was shocked when I see the 4th ending.
The fourth one is pretty powerful and poetic, it's just so hard to accept. He could have done the 2nd one he could have been fucking happy. Like that was a possibility but no he kills himself before he's even born and everyone appears to be happy about it
Directors cut was the one i watched, its definitely the best ending for the film because it connects all the dots like how the psychic told them that he didnt have a soul etc. The others are just there so its not as depressing
The Psychic scene is only in the directors cut. The theatrical ending is the best one because he sacrifices and learns from his mistake. It's still sad but not erasing himself from existence sad.
I never even knew it had different endings until today! WTF?! You have to be shitting me! My whole childhood. My whole life I've believed that the Director's Cut ending has been the only ending! Sure, I think it's probably the better ending in the context of the movie but still. That shit scarred me!
in the director's cut, it implies that it was passed on from grandfather, to father, and now the other unborn kids and Evan, and evan eventually stopped that by dying and so did the other unborns. His father and grandfather couldn't do it because they didn't have the video of them being born or else they would have ended up there as well, ending the cycle of passing it on, but anyways, evan ended it and later his mother married someone else and had a normal baby. In other cuts, the ability is still there, it will pass on to whoever he has babies with and either they will lead to him asking how to fix the timeline, or (2) killing themselves in the womb again , if evan realizes this he might not decide to have a baby at all, considering only he figured out how to fix while others might just commit suicide. Who knows this has been going on the family tree and only the ones figuring it out lives, while others kill themselves, like a natural survival of the fittest going on here, while the others might also just live with whatever they have got
The first time I watched this movie i saw the second ending. I just watched it again and saw the directors cut. I have never been so depressed in my life
I still remember watching this for the first time back in 2013, I think. Me and my brother originally wanted to watch this because we both thought it was a horror movie. Turned out it wasn't really, though it some creepy aspects to it. I'm vey grateful for this movie, because on that very day, as I was watching the last 2 minutes of this film, I fell in love with Oasis. This 2 minutes scene (Theatrical ending) is VERY special to me. Not only are the song and the scene a perfect match, also Oasis has grown to be my favourite band of all time. And that all because of this movie. This Masterpiece. Thanks to directors and writers Eric Bress, J. and Mackye Gruber, and to the stars Ashton Kutcher, Amy Smart, William Lee Scott and Elden Henson. Splendid job with this film. Cheers from Begium! Btw: I think I like the OPEN ending the best. He sees her, thinks, and decides to go after her, it's so beautiful and touching.. Seeing him walk after her and hearing the perfectly fitting intrumental version of Stop Crying Your Heart Out just makes me happy :).
I remember back then watching 2 different ending versions and I though it could be deja vu if I imagined it otherwise, thanks man for uploading this video :D
I saw the theatrical version in my 20's and the movie barely left an impression on me. I am now 48 and watched the director's cut this evening. As a 48-year-old; the director's cut will stay with me for a very long time by comparison. I'm not one for typically spoon-fed/Hollywood-ending types of movies and so the director's cut had more of an impact on me. It made you think on so many different levels, "Did the other two lives actually exist before they became stillbirths? The way the interaction took place between timelines with the psychic and the knife in the kitchen scene; there was more to unpack with the director's cut. I thought it was incredibly well done and it's up there with my favourite time travel movies such as Predestination and Interstellar.
The first ending was all I ever knew until i saw a recente meme and decided to watch again the movie and watched the 4th ending and I was like OMG this is not the real ending :O
Amazing. I watched the first ending when the movie came out. I had no idea there were alternative endings. Now the last ending makes perfect sense to me, it all ties together.
no, it definetely happenned. every detail, even with the cheesy endings, makes a solid statement of that. you can definitely see reality changing all the time, i even thought it like that before i re-saw the movie after not seeing it for a while. and if it was like that, the director's would have an ending where he just had schizophrenia, ''just like his dad''. even the name of the movie points that.
As emotionally impactful and powerful the 4th ending is, it's not my ideal ending. I love it AND I hate it. The message of that ending is pretty much "Everyone would be better off without you" Yeah, that is DEFINITELY a good message for people that deal with those kind of thoughts
for me first one where they cross paths but go their own ways is best most fitting movie ending, absolute masterpiece, if universe wants they will meet again ;)
The 4th ending is the most effective ending on the viewer. It had a slight shock value and seemed to be the most logical ending for the character Evan. If you had to repeatedly see bad things happening around you and you were the only one to fix it, I think self sacrifice is the most noble thing to do.
You know what's cool? Knowing about only the first ending, then 15 years later watching the director's cut and thinking someone has changed your timeline...

really? I downloaded the movie and it had director's cut. never knew that was not original ending until I found this video. but director's cut seems best ending to me since it make sense to the story.
Funny how a movie about multiple timelines has multiple endings
Isn’t it to be expected..?
@@007Fusiion eh, if it was a game then it would, but movies rarely have alternate endings (that are published)
Directors cut was the first planing ending but this make pointless to watch this film so open ending or happy ending would be better
"Timelines" did not exist at that time
I didn't get who does Kelly kiss in that super duper bad ending in Director's Cut?
It's genius that In the director's cut ending Evan's mother says "not again" so it makes you think that her previous babies had the power to go back in time too and killed themselves like Evan.
My first thought as well. Saw this movie for the 2nd time 20 years after I saw it the first time. Had no idea it was the directors cut.
Wow great never realized
The first ending is the best one and so glad it was the first one I got to watch.
When he tells says “goodbye” as a kid to her it just makes it all the more emotional.
And oasis rocks!!!
It was a selfless sacrifice. All in the name of love.
isn't it also an open ending because they are both alive and might hook up later ?

1st one is the best, makes you think how every time you walk on a busy street there might be one random person in the crowd who might have changed your life in a similar fashion and only he/she knows it. And you will never know yourself or meet ever again.
Interesting approach
These are all alternative universes, so all of the other bad ones are still happening. Evan just chose which one he wants to live.
@@OnlyBobGreenThis is a perfect explanation. I love this aspect of time travel and alternate universes. Just like Everything Everywhere All At Once

Directors cut version is like “lmao u wasted 2 hours worrying about a person that was not born in the first place”
I really liked this movie
Dark vibes
Well, no character really exists
The director's cut is way too dark
Nah, the other 3 kids ended up doing well for themselves. Evan's existence was the root of all of the problems he tried to fix.
I always felt like this was the true ending of the movie.
I always thought the Directors Cut was the best ending, but thinking about it now I reckon ending 1 is tougher. It's a sustained sacrifice, instead of a one-and-done sacrifice.
I completely agree, but I guess the ending with greater impact was the one chosen :/
its the worst tbh
its awful....if that were released in theaters it would have been cancelled...Its just awful!

the 4th is depressing as fuck...
Fits the whole dark theme of the movie
Instiinx I agree, bc earlier on they say "no heart line" and all that

Sometimes the answer is, "Better for everyone", because some people just shouldn't exist.

The 4th was the first one I watched. It's definitely more impactful
+i Marjibi me too
+i Marjibi Yeah, I agree with you. As it was stated in this movie, you can't make everything perfect without sacrifices. Other endings suits more for comedies or ramances
Me too
i Marjibi same...
It’s fucked up
The first ending is the best. He wants to stop and talk to her but understands it just wasn't meant to be. Keep walking Evan.....
100%
Wrong
I had to check if there was another ending on youtube to prove to myself I didn't make it up or something.
i thought the same thing
I've seen the first version on TV about two or three times, maybe it's just me but I don't remember her talking about having any still borns in that version nor her visiting the psychic.
lordmata94 It happened to me either and I literally fell of the chair while I was reading your comment ! :D
Erdi Sari i wanted to mail the producer to tell him how jumpy he made me that day lol
Every single fucking ending is the best thing i've seen for an ending of a movie.
Every ending has something that made it special in a very different way from each other.
I just love this movie even more that before i watched this video👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The baby dieing was freaking
The second one is horrible. Very cheesy, glad they didn't choose it.
I think that that stalking ending was low. But I love that official and DC endings. :)
Yeah, I watched directors cut straight up first. I was like wtf. Then I came across this
I loved the second one because that would mean both he and his mother would have been happy but the 4th one is propably the best one for the plot.
Directors cut was sad, but by far the best. Connects the dots to the other stillbirths, and the physic.
+Fireballun I preffer the 2 ending, was the best fucking ending ever, because they start dating(i think)
ps: sorry for my wrong english :(
John Marcel
Yep it was happy ending but I felt like it didn't fit. "-oh, hello! -hello! -we bang ok? - K " ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
No, it doesn't draw any proper conclusion. There can be infinite no. Of stillbirths that can follow if the pattern is followed. That's a chaotic, sad circle.
Ashton Kutcher does not get enough credit as an actor. He needs to do more serious roles like this one. He’s very good.
I agree
I agree too
I don't agree
I just finished watching this for the first time and got depressed because it was the 4th ending :(
+Emivader same way I am. And finally I watched all the four. Kept the Happy Ending in my mind.Erased the rest of them :)
+dais +1)
I had the 1st ending!!!! I didn't know there were 4 different endings😱😱😱 OMG....awesome movie
Which ending did the movie release with? Like in theaters.😱😱😱
Niki 1221 I think it was the happy ending, because the death in the womb scene was from the director´s cut
My destiny could be different if I didn't type this comment.
Dolgion Khurelchuluun My destiny could be different if I didn't have liked your comment.
Dolgion Khurelchuluun shit
Best comment far
You did anyways. Just try not to fuck up our dimension ok.?
My destiny could be different if I didn't watch this movie. Damn it.
the theatrical ending was far better in my opinion. It made me think that after all that happened, Evan still loves Kayleigh if he really does love her then he would let her go
The movie is about the consequences of changing your past...
@@Sakboi2012 it's also about the relationship between the two. The past changing thing is just its gimmick.
@@Sakboi2012 yeah those are the themes. The actual plot us about Evan trying to make Kayleigh happy.
The most beautiful thing about the first ending is that everything is finally possible between them without destroying each other lives. One of the best time travel movies ever, solid world building.
no matter what, there is no happy ending for them. that makes the movie special.
Why not?
writers of the movie should reply that. they are :
Writers: J. Mackye Gruber, Eric Bress
The Director's cut ending is the one I remember when I first saw the movie on TV. I had no idea there were other endings.
The first time I saw it, it had the first ending. I watched it on TV a few minutes ago and saw the last ending and was like "WTF"!
which is the first??
i knew there were 2 endings.. had no idea there were 4
ChaosPod I hated that ending it was too hard to enjoy because evin was meant to be with her so much but the first ending was great as it shown a slight chance of them getting back together unlike the far fetched version 2
The happy ending felt a bit too cliche and a bit cheesy, but I kinda like the open ending where he follows her.
I fucking lost it at "no!!!...not again!!!" 😢 fucking broke me
@Jan Lima ur a horrible person
@Jan Lima yikes
The ending they chose I loved because it showed how much Evan loved Kayleigh by walking away but a part of me wishes they went with the happy ending because they deserved to end up together.
I still love the first ending after all these years, it’s just like how life should be, we move on.
I still love the last ending after all these years, it’s just like how life should be, we kill ourselves.
Ow, the edge
@@sashoenachereshataNo, because that would literally be suicide.
@@sashoenachereshataloser mindset
I watched it the first time and I cant FUCKING stop thinking about the hugh sacrifice he had to make at the end... just think about it. Never be able to be with the one that you always wanted. never be able to KNOW her. And she doesn't know you either. This is one of the most genius and Incredible movies ive seen and Ashton Kutcher id one of my favorite actors.
I remember watching this when I was 16. It's such a sad yet scary story.
I'm 16 and I've just watched this movie today. I thought exactly the same...
Jodie Holmes Two minds think alike ;)
Ashton Kutcher is a brilliant actor.
I don't remember seeing him in any other movies... So no opinion on him yet.
I'll check it out. :)
Jodie Holmes You should, he's amazing at acting and he's a great comedian. :)

This movie is Bandersnatch, done right!
I didn't mind bandersnatch.
Same vibes too
Yeah maybe they should do a interactive version so we're the ones in control.
@@RandomRoss That's a great idea to re-establish this movie, & help improve its ratings.
I love and hate the 4th ending. :"(
Danneh W Согласен с тобой, смотрел больше 10 лет назад и был безумно удивлен последней концовкой...
+Danneh W I love the movie itself it is great but if he told the dad to love, care and be a good dad to both his kids wouldnt it be a perfect ending for everybody. Of course we dont know what would happen afterwards but he should have been tried it instead of threatening him with explosive. Plus it is so meaningless to him painting a murderer in both cases I mean there is no him to drow it they just tried to make them looks like connected to each other and I think 3 dead born babies are before him just like him killing themselfs after going through all different stories, it could be great if they make a movie about one of those babies life
@@Taserth He did, but the son still ended up bad. Watch the movie before commenting.
But how many times are you gonna try and get pregnant even after failing for the 4th time... I'd say its best for them to adopt a baby.
on the other hand, she had miscarriage before. kids who were not meant to be. perhaps they also realized the same thing and ended it in the womb to at least minimize the impact.
Nope. You can't choke yourself.
If it doesn't, it never was." It's a better message than "life is better without you, go commit suicide", don't you think?
yes yes exactly! man i love the way you think.. wanna be friends? ive got loads to ask you!
100% agree. I just watched the movie and it had the fourth ending. Glad I found this video, and also glad I found this comment
But life is better whitout most of people and they should commit unliving
Fourth ending makes you remember this movie. First one just makes it another positive feel good film. Also the miscarriages and crazy dad trying to kill Evan are explained by this. The stillbirthed babies were his fathers and probably had the same curse. Just a more mind blowing and interesting one
Just watched this film today- absolutely brilliant. Can't believe I haven't seen this earlier- such an absolute masterpiece.
1. Would be sad without any satisfaction
2. Cheesy asf
3. A feel good movie
4. A very deep movie

The best comment
+Nathan Wubs but u dont understand.. he is the miracle baby and he has to stop the butterfly affect.. it made perfect sense
01:28 It's Foggy Nelson!
+Elijah Cassidy Oh Fuck! I have thought the same thing!
While watching the movie I was trying to understand where I knew that face from and it all makes sense now
holy shit ,if i've not knew that movie came out in 2004 ,i would believe they are the same guy Xd
Cant believe 🤯
First Ending - Neutral
Second Ending - Happy Ending
Third Ending - Bad Ending, he gets thrown in jail for following her home.
Fourth Ending - Sad suicidal ending
one brilliant film.
but he was obsessed with kayle he could of done so much more with that gift.
It's not a gift, it's a curse; as his father said, it only gets worse the further you use it
The first one was the one I watched when I saw the movie for the first time and I think it's the best one, everyone gets a happy ending but the main character will always live with regret for the rest of his life and I think that's way more painful and cruel than dying and have a quick realise from the pain.
La idea de la película es que no hay que intentar cambiar las cosas y veo miles de comentarios intentando modificar su final. Fantástico!
He understood that the best way to stop suffering was to just letting her go
the second ending is terrible, completely breaks the chaos theory and butterfly effect
+White Wolf wait how does it break the chaos theory? am I missing something
+Da_Swifta but everything else is good also so what's the problem
christina williams The problem is that this is a movie that's all about how changing the past can have devestating consequences in the future.
I love movies that create a whole universe for you to keep imagining. Thats what art and creating should be about
The first ending: bittersweet, by trying to be with her, he ruined the life of everyone he loves, so he chose to let go
The second ending: the best ending, by letting go of her, he ends up accidentally finding her again and starts fresh with her like he never met her before
The third ending: he gets a restraining order for stalking her
The fourth ending: wait... what fourth ending? What the hell are you talking about?
I am quite surprised to see how active the comment section is for a 2004 film which was trashed by critics
I love them but i would not have seen it if it was not recommended by my friend or read the reviews first
The very first ending I experienced was the director's cut ending and it made me very sad for many days. and then few years later I watched it again with theatrical cut and all those feelings i had for the first time i watched this movie became resolved. It almost felt like i watched whole different film. Brilliant movie. 10/10
Wow, I saw the directors cut just now, and was interested in the ending and the possibility of the first two stillbirths being the same powers and same kind of story. Typed in the butterfly effect ending and found out there were 3 others! xD
yeah... it took me 11 years to discover these 3 alternate endings! lololol
What a movie omfg....and WHAT A SONG!!! perfection

Director's cut clearly the best ending. It all makes so much sence with it.
i think so too

god please... don't... it is the worst!!!! how in the f**ing world a baby could do this? Theatrical cut is the best!
a baby killing him self ? .. no, not my type of thing
too dark and come on it is a bit stupid..
the one when they meet up and suddenly they start drinking coffee .. i think she's too easy or too slutty if she meant coffee if you know what i mean :l
when he walks behind her that was better and seems reasonable .
i think the one when they just walk past each other is the best .. realistic and happens to pretty much everyone.
I kept saying “The ending was so dark” and she was confused hahahaha
really depressing movie
I think I understand the fourth one, since all of them have the power every child she has actually does get born but eventually goes back in time to kill themselves
The second one is horrible. Cheesy as hell. Glad they didn't choose it.
I agree. I kinda like the open ending where he follows her, but the DC version is also good. (albeit a bit depressing).
+ Ingen Ting But if you think about it, the 4th ending is kinda cheesy too, where he dies for the greater good like most heroes

Hey thanks for upload the multiverse finals! really really great!
I love movies of this kind of genre and plot. And I loved the Director's cut ending because that's what I saw first and it made perfect sense about the movie.
Words can't describe the feeling I have when I watch this movie..
Better without these words
My favorite is the 1st, the music fits so perfectly with the scene. Oasis
Those scenes are not in the theatrical version. So no way for it to connect to those.
The director's cut ending was the first one I saw, it broke my heart so much but it was the best ending in my opinion
in the director's cut, it implies that it was passed on from grandfather, to father, and now the other unborn kids and Evan, and evan eventually stopped that by dying and so did the other unborns.
I have never been so depressed in my life
0:46 oh that "Goodbye.." is heartbreaking, it's like in Interstellar Cooper took a deep breath and said "Detach.."
My expression on seeing about 10 years later alternative endings!!!
Ending 4's probably the one that makes the most sense, but the the stock audio of the kids laughing ruins it
When you really love someone, you would do everything to that person can be happy even if that means let your true love go.
lel no
no you just gotta stalk their twitter and break into their house when they arent home idiot
Oh God shut up
I think the first was the best, or the second.
I remember back then watching 2 different ending versions and I though it could be deja vu if I imagined it otherwise, thanks man for uploading this video :D
Man this film is just a 10/10 for me it’s amazing!!!!😩
I've only ever seen the 4th ending. I didnt even know there were happier ones!!!!
This movie never meant to have a happy ending in my opinion.
this movie makes me think about so many things... after almost 20 years it makes a huge impact on me every time i watch it..
i saw the 4th one first, then years later watched again and saw the first ending i thought i was going crazy
Same in Nz it was released with 4th ending as the one in movie
The first ending was all I ever knew until i saw a recente meme and decided to watch again the movie and watched the 4th ending and I was like OMG this is not the real ending :O
Feel you bro, had the same experience right now. Man nothing beats the chills after you hear that Oasis song (theatrical cut ending of course).
First Ending is definitely the best !
Amazing. I watched the first ending when the movie came out. I had no idea there were alternative endings. Now the last ending makes perfect sense to me, it all ties together.
and if we imagine that he did not travel in time or change anything, it was only schizophrenia and he had hallucinations?
no, it definetely happenned. every detail, even with the cheesy endings, makes a solid statement of that. you can definitely see reality changing all the time, i even thought it like that before i re-saw the movie after not seeing it for a while. and if it was like that, the director's would have an ending where he just had schizophrenia, ''just like his dad''. even the name of the movie points that.
Director's cut is most impactful for sure.I'm too glad to seen it first.
The 4th ending is the most effective ending on the viewer. It had a slight shock value and seemed to be the most logical ending for the character Evan. If you had to repeatedly see bad things happening around you and you were the only one to fix it, I think self sacrifice is the most noble thing to do.
He couldnt be sure it will be fine...
NO!
6:56 Blacklist #2 Bull From Need For Speed Most Wanted 2005
This movie is criminally underrated.
A tiny baby taking his own life is way too heartbreaking.
