This is essentially a remake of the 1964 Zatoich film, "Fight, Zatoichi, Fight"...starring Shintaro Katsu.
Now, whilst this is good, the longer original is waay better....with the lead actress Ikuko Mori was fantastic.

This episode was gut wrenching the way the dad threw the baby outside..smh dude I was so worried for the baby. He looks ok but he seemed to sustain some sort of injuries. Idk but this is one of my favorite episodes.

❤❤❤one of the most tragic episode...I somehow knew why modern Japanese society is plunging in serious depression problem, shintaru katsu's depictions in all his episodes somehow give glimpse to why such tragedy exist...

Zatoichi is set in a period of cruel pathos. The Edo shogun culture had broken down into local corrupt criminal rule, yakuza time , about 1820s 1840s. Yakuza claimed to have Code of justice and conduct, but it had become a chaotic market of steal, extort, arrogate, sell, anything.
      Samurai culture had broken down.
Human cultures too easily break down into feudalism, with violent groups claiming chivalrous or civilized hierarchy, but in reality, a pyramid of exploitation.
The Zatoichi tales seem to attempt a more moral antihero, who, though highly skilled in violence, contrasted with the whole corrupt predatory psychopaths -- these latter took the law by sword ( and ancient gun type brought in 1600s. -- until US Perry with his big gunships reopened Japan to industrial revolution.
Development along with Meiji restoration of empire did NOT remove violent Yakuza; they were too entrenched in the culture for too long, with gambling, a corrupt popular addiction fueling the tragedy depicted.
In fact Yakuza were so big, that they infected everywhere Japanese came, and only in 1990s-2000s were laws reducing some of their power.
So russia is not alone as a massively corrupt violent culture. Japan still has international undercurrent, though having other ameliorating traditions.
I do not think cruelty, even in cultures that murder as a matter of course, is basic to us, but only an easily developed trait among individuals, as part of "getting ahead" modeled by adults who have the ethic of take what you so cheaply, uncaringly desire.

PS. I HATE tats - prison chic for people who worship the ideal of being "bad"
A mix of UGLY and MALIGNANTLY NARCISSISTIC.
The Maori males used to do it to their faces to terrify, as the African scarring was made to identify one as belonging to a tribe irrevocably for life.
Scars occur, but ugly pretentious narcissism to "belong" and threaten, makes for callous psychopathy as pretentious billboard.
Skin is beautiful, and tat ink makes immune system overwork, with cognitive and emotional consequences, as well as health reduction.

I noticed this too. This must be a remake of an earlier feature length story (Maybe the 5th or 6th film?). The original was better--- better editing, sound, acting, everything just better. I don't know why they remade this as a TV edit; perhaps because the original was popular? (it was one of my favorites, but mostly because the original actress was so good as the conflicted con artist)

@@bokidimi5215 Zatoichi is an excellent fairy tale that takes you into the world of disappeared Edo period. Clothing, decorations, metaphorical and naive allusions make you feel how the life in Japan could be 200 years ago. You are watching it from today's perspective with corresponding modern stereotypes and no wonder you can not understand it.

This poor child cries exactly like a cat, when they make this kind of sound, especially . when two cat's fight against each other, either for a female cat or for dominance of an area

Domestic cats evolved to meow in the narrow frequency band that triggers the same instinctive human reaction that a crying baby does. However, cats have a pretty limited vocabulary, so the same meow gets reused for many other things, such as wanting to be petted, wanting to go outside, wanting to play, looking for mates, etc.

Why,oh god!! Why doesn't our great hero zatoichi marry the poor stupid girl, when she is so so0o0o0o0oo much in love with him!! Even earlier,he had soooooo many women loving him!! He could easily have married one of the woman who loves him soooooooooo madly, and produced more junior zatoichis, and he can easily support them and give them a good prosperous and Rich Life. Of course, then he would have to leave this kind of stupid life and we, his fans won't get to see him killing so so0o0o0o0oo many poor stupid villains!! But then, I would accept it,if my great hero zatoichi could find happiness in marrying a loving girl and therefore having a big family!!

  • @nangdarin1655
    @nangdarin1655 Год назад +1

I really believe that the poor stupid hero zatoichi,in the scene,44.17, would have easily let go the poor stupid villain Boss,if the stupid villain had not been stupid enough to attack the poor stupid hero zatoichi!! Because, zatoichi is always the poor stupid zatoichi, who will easily forgive a stupid villain Boss, just because he fucked around and therefore produced a cute little boy, whom our poor stupid hero zatoichi had to take care for some days!! And just because the poor stupid hero zatoichi took care of the poor kid and fell in love with the poor kid,he will easily forgive the villain Boss, even if the stupid villain Boss has committed so so0o0o0o0oo many crimes!! What a great example of a stupid hero!!!!
