INGREDIENTS I USED:
Start in oven preheated to 325 degrees for 1 hour 20 mins. (Baking time can vary depending on your oven.)
3 Sticks of Butter (Room Temperature)
3 Cups Sugar
6 Eggs (Room Temperature)
3 Cups Cake Flour
1/4 Tsp Salt
1 8 Oz. Block of Cream Cheese (Room Temperature)
3/4 Cup 7 Up Soda (Room Temperature)
1/2 Tsp Almond Extract
1-2 Tsp Lemon Extract
1 Tsp Creme Bouquet
FOR 7 UP GLAZE I USED:
Powdered Sugar
7 Up Soda
Creme Bouquet Flavoring

@Shelly_R Good morning. It's not the same. If you're referring to the Mccormick Cake Batter extract, it replaced their Vanilla, Butter, & Nut extract. Both creme bouquet and cake batter are good. Hope that helps.

@@sweetea7035my apologies I thought I shared this recipe it's as follows 3 sticks butter 5 eggs 2 T lemon extract 3 cups sugar 3 cups flour 3/4 cup 7up 1/2 can drained crushed pineapple Cream butter sugar 5-6 min add eggs one at a time gradually add flour add lemon extract and 7up stir in pineapple incorporate well Bake 325° for 1 hr 15 min Icing 1 1/2 sticks butter 2 cups powder sugar 1/2 cups drained pineapple mix butter and sugar add pineapple ***ALL ingredients should be room temperature hopefully you'll try it and enjoy as we did

My favorite cake, and so glad you baked this cream cheese cake and added a bit more moisture go it. Got me some 7Up and my ingredients sitting out about to make it as we speak, Thanks Donna. Also I make holes in my cake after I flip it out the pan and make a thin glaze and with a Pastry brush glaze it like a donut it cools perfect. Then I make a thicker glaze and drizzle try it

Hi Donna, I am new to your channel and I enjoy your videos. I am learning quite a bit and some day I will tackle one of your pound cake recipes. Some of the ingredients you use are new to me, such as creme bouquet. Based on your description, I'm guessing that creme bouquet is the same as cake batter extract? I have never used either one. As for the cake flour, I remember that my mother used to have a method of converting all-purpose flour to cake flour. Well, various articles have explained that a valid substitute is all-purpose flour and cornstarch, in a specific ratio, and sifted. And you are right about the science of baking. The ratios of ingredients are so precise and delicate to produce the desired results. Bakers like you are basically kitchen scientists, whether you know it or not, because you do quite a bit of experimenting! That's what make is so interesting. Thank you for the lessons! 😃

Have you ever tried making it with True Lime packets? It's pure crystallized lime. I like how it makes 7up cake taste even more lemon-limey rather than mostly lemony (nothing wrong with lemon cake- I just really love the combo!) I just add 2 or 3 packets into the batter with my other extracts. If I make a heavier glaze I'll add one to that too.
I think I'm going to try this recipe with added lime crystals, and use the cold oven method. I hope it's as delicious as I'm imagining it to be!

They always turn out perfectly, especially because the cream cheese is the leavening agent. That's why no baking powder is needed. My Momma taught me this years ago.🥰
