Agree that rolling with it makes for less stress as it doesn't alter anything but l find that if your constantly hit with family crisis after crisis then your strength gets eroded piece by piece and its very difficult to roll with it, your very sttong mate and like you I stand with a rock next to me, but still things get through and fester, its not easy but I'm pleased that you have learnt to control it and life is good, see you in Hoppys in May. Rental Prices gone mental in canaries over the last few years, better off buying a flat mate sooner the better prices are only gonna go up. I moved from Marbella area and bought a house in Torrevieja, Alicante because the houses are less than half the price. Torrevieja is now spains fastest growing city.

He said, property here is only going to go half way, we was going to buy a two bed little 2 up 2 down type thing in a village about 10 miles in land from playa de las Americos, it was 17 grand, now that house is 180 grand, I've regretted that ever since, as we didn't buy it,

A lot of the housing/tourist issues are vloggers mate. A lot of people watch or follow people and think they want to move there. The increase in moving, renting or having a holiday home is massive. That’s why the locals are getting pissed over it. And I can’t blame them. It’s the same situation in the UK. If you can’t live on the island and contribute to the system full time then they shouldn’t be allowed there. Screw this “Swallows” thing. It’s pricing people out of the market. And it’ll get worse before it crashes. 👍🏼
Can't blame the swallows. They have bought properties and now can't use them due to Brexit rules, half of the apartments sit empty half the year. Awful shame for locals and those swallows still paying lots to service them . Not a swallow yet, but feel their pain x😂😂

It sounds like a nightmare for landlords and new or moving tenants mate. I own a few apartments in Malta - lived here 25 years - high demand but plenty of availability in the rental market. The downside? Malta is a building site. Airbnb is regulated in Malta. Big fines if landlords use it and don't register.
bubble wont burst. As long as inflation continues cost will rise and be priced into assets. And inflation never reverses it just slows down. No point in history where appreciating assets decreased unless there was a war.

For comparison a friend of mine has just bought a beautiful two bed apartment (fully furnished) in Murcia with excellent views, location and a pool. 95,000 euros! And here's the best bit the owner of the property also threw in a four year old Nissan Note with the sale!! Similar property in south of Tenerife is around 300k.

So true , we are lucky that we have our own place. I can really understand the canarian people moaning about the housing crisis. We would be saying the same if we were in the uk. And you are right , if you rent out it can very difficult to get them out when they say they will squat. There are very few properties that people can afford now . I always say about three things in life, they are like a jigsaw, if one piece doesn't fit the rest arnt right. Ive always been very cool and calm about everything, sometimes too much if you listen to my partner but as i tell my kids. Ive never found a situation when getting stressed out helped. I believe in Karma, good things happen to good people. I have even got a tattoo of a ying yang circle on my arm. So be cool, be calm but be proactive and you will be vloging and moaning about moving house soon.

In Ireland, the government is trying to crack down on Airbnb, they are not registered, don't meet standards, and pay no tax like registered accommodation. Don't think there will be a property crash, there will always be demand in Tenerife for property no matter how high it goes. In fact, The Canaries is trying to price out ordinary punters by increasing the prices of everything to cut out the footfall on the Islands. This has happened in Ireland, you never see holidaymakers in Ireland without bulging wallets. It only needs the same number of staff and chefs in a restaurant to serve a €10 meal as to serve a €40 meal, it is a no-brainer. The same is true for hotels, etc. I live in a holiday spot in Ireland and the locals hardly ever eat out as it is too expensive. I am just surprised that Tenerife isn't worse than it is, watch to see it coming. Where I live a long-term rental for a 2-bed apartment is €1,500 per month. Everything is relative,.

its crypto bull run season, you could offset any price increase if you bought in early enough. I would have expected A large amount of Brits to have sold there property due to brexit. Alot of money tied up for something you can only use 3 months at a time. Tourist hotspots in the UK have also suffered. City money buys up property and makes a killing as holiday rentals. They dont want long term rentals.

Yep whatever will be will be mate hope the housing sorts itself .Balance in life is so important I decided at 60 I would cut down my hours after being at the same company for 40 years then at 62 I cut down to three mornings .im not rich but are comfortable and have time to enjoy all my family .keep the vlogs coming and hopefully see you compare next week
