Trouble happens everywhere, look at poor Southport.🙏 Unfortunately Trouble has a knock on effect from Beer, drugs, pickpockets opportunists, it's always linked to something, and as sad as it we just have stay out of it. You can't live your life being scared. Tenerife is as safe as you make it for yourself, act with caution like you do everyday and there's no issue whatsoever.

nothing will stop me coming to Tenerife. I am far more careful now than I was 20yrs ago.though. I always keep myself aware of my surroun ings and the people I see walking about with handbags open and purses on the top. Phones sticking out of pockets,madness.Great video Rick. It's thanks to you and the other Tenerife vloggers, Col, Tim, Kevin, Michael, Tez etc that I knew where I was going. It's all about keeping your wits about you. Cross body man bags are better than baggy pockets, back pockets in trousers and shorts are better left empty. I love people watching but remember to look out for yourself. The same could happen in any town,any where,at anytime it’s just when you are on holiday your guard is somewhat down and you tend to do things that you necessarily wouldn’t do when at home.Be sensible and aware and you will be safe and enjoy your time.I genuinely feel safer in Tenerife than in places at home

Been going to Tenerife for over 30 years and watched it going downhill big time, muggings by foreigners and also by the local prostitutes, pick pockets, phones being stolen, bags being stolen, wallets, jewellery being snatched from people’s necks etc, drugs being sold everywhere day and night, it’s actually worse than Benidorm now and I know as I go to Benidorm 5/6 times a year, Tenerife needs a visual police presence as they have in Benidorm on the strip, they are always driving up and down it and police with sniffer dogs go in the pubs looking for drugs in people’s bags and wallets, pockets etc, it definitely helps!!

There's only one dodgy area in Tenerife, and that's a small town on the east coast towards the capital, where they put all the social cases. Apart from that, it's safe as houses. They even give asylum seekers jobs helping the disabled and the elderly.

Last year when leaving a bar and going back to our hotel, Sabila, I clocked 2 guys who were making eyes at mine and my friends watches so headed back to the hotel as quickly as possible, the watches didn’t come out the safe again all holiday……. Great vlog as always Rick 😊

Tenerife does seem to have gotten alot worse of late though. The amount of attacks, muggings, thefts and disappearances has definitely increased. I used to live there myself and its on a different level now. What a sad world it is when you can’t carry your owned hard earned cash aside from exactly what you can afford to lose or wear your favourite jewellery.
We feel as safe as we can we are more wary when around playa las Americas but also anywhere on the island yes proper zipped man bag or handbag.Glad you putting this vlog out there Rick.But we love coming to the island it won’t stop us we don’t drink loads to be unsafe.

Rick there's Drugs,theft and scumbags everywhere mate .I had my wallet pinched whilst lying by the pool in Castle Harbour about 28 years ago ,it was when there used to be a lot of the timeshare people living there ,so there was a few desperate individuals knocking about . Also a year or two later we were down the strip and a looky looky came up to us at a table trying to sell my wife a watch . Like an idiot I said why does she want a new watch when she has one on that has diamonds in it . Later we get in a cab back to Castle Harbour and notice the watch is gone . I think the looky looky must of tipped off a pickpocket . I was stupid on both occasions . Rick sorry to bring this up but weren't you the one who said it was safe to leave your phone and wallet on the table whilst nipping to the loo in the pub you worked at on the Mirador strip ?

We got home early hours of Mon after 2 weeks of safe and happy time spent in Tenerife, we bumped into you and Shelley at the Pasarela last week and featured in the video you made, great to meet you both, Tenerife is one of the safest places I have even been, just be cautious of your surroundings and never venture out at night alone, same as here in the UK really
Hi Rick, my wife had her bag snatched off her shoulder by a young lad but there was no money or cards in it only makeup I hope the lipstick was his colour, another time someone came up to us outside the Mediterranean palace he was putting his hand near my pocket I shouted in his face and he was off, I always wear shorts with zips on the pocket’s which I bought in Tenerife, when we go out on an evening I only take enough money for the night, we don’t consider Tenerife unsafe crime happens everywhere

Mate I have been robbed at gun point in Morocco. I have been arrested in Saudi Arabia for drinking a 7up in the street during Ramadan. I was slapped by Garda Civil in Ibiza for refusing to pay a fine. I have an outstanding fine in Turkey for £10 payments for a Uk citizen entering Turkey but I was working in Northern Iraq and Southern Turkey and I payed the first £10 but refused the other 15 times. I was in Tenerife in May 2011 when the woman was beheaded at the Valdez Centre in Los Cristiano’s. I was in Yates at Starco when a guy tried to rob my Oakley sunglasses and my elbow accidentally smashed his face in. I was arrested in Magaluf at 19 for walking into a fight. I walked up the hill as police were moving people down the hill. I eventually became the front of the line and I took exception to the police man hitting me with his batton. They drove us out into the middle of nowhere and it took two hours to walk back to palma nova. If you travel enough you will meet up with criminals and the law at some point in life but it’s never stopped me travelling.
Ive been coming to tenerife for years, never been a victim of theft i dont regard myself lucky but like home am aware of my surroundings and thats why ive not been a victim of theft, am out in september for 3 weeks hope ive not kinxed myself now lol, great vlog rick about a serious topic unlike andy pandys vlogs about it 😅

Two guys tried to pickpocket my older brother once in Birmingham because he probably looks vulnerable because he's only 5'2, but what these two guys did not know 😂 my brother as been training people in all aspects of marital arts for probably over 20 years now,but unfortunately my brother did get arrested but it never went to court,but the two guys went to hospital 😊

Tenerife is as safe as you keep yourself safe, just like the UK. Problem is Rick, we can make videos like this until we’re blue in the face but we either get accused of clickbaiting, or folk simply don’t take heed of the advice. I feel safer in Veronicas than I do in the high street of my hometown at Bournemouth at night. Statistically a less chance of getting robbed, stabbed or even worse.
I always think it's down to peoples own stupidty that creates scenarios like your topic. I love Tenerife, fully aware press will always highlight a story without the full press being shown. Been going to Tenerife for well over 20 years, never once (personally) seen any issues.
Got me worried with the heading😳,hard working guys cash.cards.not right.if I get a lift in yur motor I will be searching with my hands for all those euro coins.I will be loaded.😂.but Rick ye see polis in cars along the prom but never walking aboot on the reef.hence we are staying further away from las Americas as not as busy and wee bit safer.so I will be looking out for those donkeys when over..100%. I got approached by a bag seller in Porto Colon trying to selling me a bag for my wife and when I said no , he offered me Cocaine , I don't do drugs !!🤔

Never take jewellery away on holiday.. there is a black corner .. as if leaving buddies .. walking down .. then turn left to Mirador strip.. they jump out of cars there. Like you say . Only take out what you need 😊

Rick there's Drugs,theft and scumbags everywhere mate .I had my wallet pinched whilst lying by the pool in Castle Harbour about 28 years ago ,it was when there used to be a lot of the timeshare people living there ,so there was a few desperate individuals knocking about . Also a year or two later we were down the strip and a looky looky came up to us at a table trying to sell my wife a watch . Like an idiot I said why does she want a new watch when she has one on that has diamonds in it . Later we get in a cab back to Castle Harbour and notice the watch is gone . I think the looky looky must of tipped off a pickpocket . I was stupid on both occasions .
Rick sorry to bring this up but weren't you the one who said it was safe to leave your phone and wallet on the table whilst nipping to the loo in the pub you worked at on the Mirador strip ?

We got home early hours of Mon after 2 weeks of safe and happy time spent in Tenerife, we bumped into you and Shelley at the Pasarela last week and featured in the video you made, great to meet you both, Tenerife is one of the safest places I have even been, just be cautious of your surroundings and never venture out at night alone, same as here in the UK really

Hi Rick, my wife had her bag snatched off her shoulder by a young lad but there was no money or cards in it only makeup I hope the lipstick was his colour, another time someone came up to us outside the Mediterranean palace he was putting his hand near my pocket I shouted in his face and he was off, I always wear shorts with zips on the pocket’s which I bought in Tenerife, when we go out on an evening I only take enough money for the night, we don’t consider Tenerife unsafe crime happens everywhere

Mate I have been robbed at gun point in Morocco. I have been arrested in Saudi Arabia for drinking a 7up in the street during Ramadan. I was slapped by Garda Civil in Ibiza for refusing to pay a fine. I have an outstanding fine in Turkey for £10 payments for a Uk citizen entering Turkey but I was working in Northern Iraq and Southern Turkey and I payed the first £10 but refused the other 15 times. I was in Tenerife in May 2011 when the woman was beheaded at the Valdez Centre in Los Cristiano’s. I was in Yates at Starco when a guy tried to rob my Oakley sunglasses and my elbow accidentally smashed his face in. I was arrested in Magaluf at 19 for walking into a fight. I walked up the hill as police were moving people down the hill. I eventually became the front of the line and I took exception to the police man hitting me with his batton. They drove us out into the middle of nowhere and it took two hours to walk back to palma nova. If you travel enough you will meet up with criminals and the law at some point in life but it’s never stopped me travelling.

Two guys tried to pickpocket my older brother once in Birmingham because he probably looks vulnerable because he's only 5'2, but what these two guys did not know 😂 my brother as been training people in all aspects of marital arts for probably over 20 years now,but unfortunately my brother did get arrested but it never went to court,but the two guys went to hospital 😊

Tenerife is as safe as you keep yourself safe, just like the UK.
Problem is Rick, we can make videos like this until we’re blue in the face but we either get accused of clickbaiting, or folk simply don’t take heed of the advice.
I feel safer in Veronicas than I do in the high street of my hometown at Bournemouth at night. Statistically a less chance of getting robbed, stabbed or even worse.
