Those are same kids presumebly also support an idea that police should exclusively have right to bare arms yeah those ''racist cops''. I'm sorry but I cannot admire the group of brainwashed kids. Banning semi-automatic rifles doesn't solve anything. banning those firearms gives more leverage to U.S government to be more tyrannical and gives criminals (fyi people who doesnt follow a laws) also leverage.
Also there is no such thing called assault rifle it is made up term by gun control advocates. They seems to forget the fact that ANY tool or firearm can BECOME an ''assault weapon'' AFTER it has been used in assault. You cant buy ''assault'' rifle before it has been used in assault.

I think that if instead of marching, people actually educated themselves on the reasons for societal violence, we'd have a better solution in place. But because everyone's only interested in their feelings, we won't. Kids don't magically get clarity on the gun violence issue because they were in a building where a shooting happened, any more then you'd become a fireman/woman for being in a building that had a fire.
And the first fact that people don't want to acknowledge is that there isn't a quick solution, as the reasons for societal violence is primarily due to a poor standard of living and health/mental care. You want to save lives, that's where you start.

just because all you know about the government is what you see on tv doesn't mean it's all there is to it. Media is maybe 2% of their job. So no kids arent doing anyone's job right now except their own as a citizen wanting to be heard. Also they're pushing for policies that won't change the problem they are marching agaisnt.

Whoever thinks the only people that should have guns are the militarized brutes they have going around in armored trucks they have then you have gone insane. I mean seriously, these people will follow any unlawful order that the government gives them. Such as taking kids away from mothers so that the state can treat her child with state drugs. So many instances of this sort of thing.

Hushed Tones dude im from australia, we banned assault style rifles (i.e. ar-15s) in 1996.
Incidentally we also havent had a massacre of the likes of port arthur (1996), columbine, that arizona cinema, sandy hook marjory stoneman, las vegas, pulse nightclub, any other number of school mass shootings since 1996.
I wonder what the coincidence might be.
And go on, raise the aussie crime figure. Will stll be lower per 100k people than the US (and no its neither a population thing, and guess what we were mostly a settlement of penal colonies to begin with...)

Not sure why people in those countries thought the U.S. Government would be more likely to listen to them than they would be to listen to their own people, though, but I can't really be dismissive about their show of support to these kids either, so....

Hmm. I wonder what kind of lists you are on for that comment. It is quite mentally weak and pathetic to use a tool that started with law enforcement in your country to slander children remotely, after the Snowden reveal especially. Just saying... Since you are daft i will tell you: its a list of people who are to be monitored for potential acts of gun violence against schools. If such a list doesnt already exist, and im sure it does, than i just put that idea directly in the hands of any government agencies that data mine our online content. Also, who do you think will eventully be in charge of that list? They dont stay young long. Good luck with your slander and hate. Im sure its great to have big biceps and no grey matter.

Xoxo _ because the US has banned assault firearms before in the 1990. Crime was higher than today and there were more mass shootings than the decade before and the decade that followed. Also fully automatic firearms are already banned yet mass shootings are more common after the ban than before the ban.

😢Im not here to bash any govt. But saying kids shud think of "what they can do" and then suggesting CPR etc was the meanest thing i have ever heard! We all wish that our kids shouldnt see bloodshed (let alone have their lives at stake) ! Imagine being heartless enough to say kids should do cpr and other procedures in their bleeding friends ( its gud if they can... but think of the psychological stress at that point to see someone collapse or bleed. I would have an adult do it ...n let the other kids close their eyes....and not let the kids go thru PTSD at the end)! All the witnesses to such incident would be terrorised! We should prevent it rather than blaming kids for not being doctors in their teens!

In a world where both fascism and marxism is on the rise in many countries, where war and terror prematurely ends the lives of thousands of innocents, it is truly heartwarming to see the next generation of world leaders taking a stand for what they believe in. I hope they achieve their goals, but even if that is not the case, at least we have a generation of young adults who will truly be able to make a change once they take over goverment from the rotten, self-serving politicians who are currently in power. There is still hope for the future!

People in power are disgusting at this point and well any gun owner in America. If you can still watch this and think guns are a great thing, get your head checked! I'm Canadian..... Gun violence has increased here but I have all confidence in my government that it will not continue. That's what responsible government does when gun violence increases. They've become Ayn Rand worshippers.... Ignore everything Jesus stood for yet call themselves Christians. Televangelists are particularly evil. They'll tell people with cancer to send the money to them and plant the seed that will see them recover instead of actually get treatment. The selfish heartlessness of it all as they do it with straight faces is just sick..

"Like other resistance protests, and like previous gun-control marches, the March for Our Lives was mostly women. Whereas the 2017 Women’s March was 85 percent women, the March for Our Lives was 70 percent women. Further, participants were highly educated; 72 percent had a BA or higher." Dana R. Fisher

    counter-productive*
Too bad nobody taught his granddaughter that her grandfather tried to apply for a gun permit and was denied only because of his race. Maybe then she'd realize that this movement is actually shitting on her grandfathers efforts.
“There is nothing in the history that suggests that Martin Luther King felt that guns weren’t useful for self-defense,” said Adam Winkler, UCLA law professor and author of the book “Gunfight: The Battle Over the Right to Bear Arms in America.” “Clearly, guns were used protect (King) ... (He) could not rely on the government.”
No one should be forced to rely on someone else to protect them. When seconds matter, the police are always minutes away.

I think that the approach was tricky, the show ridiculed the teenagers while "supporting" them. Think about it, there is no statement that really takes the victims view point seriously, there was a mock after to undermine their claim.
