I think that if instead of marching, people actually educated themselves on the reasons for societal violence, we'd have a better solution in place. But because everyone's only interested in their feelings, we won't. Kids don't magically get clarity on the gun violence issue because they were in a building where a shooting happened, any more then you'd become a fireman/woman for being in a building that had a fire. And the first fact that people don't want to acknowledge is that there isn't a quick solution, as the reasons for societal violence is primarily due to a poor standard of living and health/mental care. I think that the approach was tricky, the show ridiculed the teenagers while "supporting" them. Think about it, there is no statement that really takes the victims view point seriously, there was a mock after to undermine their claim.
I thought it was funny how she handed out the binders at the end. Lol A congress of young adults would be interesting though, tackling big issues like that. I'd be interested to hear how today's youth would solve them.
