27 years as a police officer is a tremendous contribution to your community. Enjoy your retirement. You deserve the opportunity to relax and enjoy life. There is a lot of great Australian music you will have the time to enjoy.
YES!!! Kasey Chambers Lose Yourself…it will BLOW YOUR MIND! Especially if you know the Eminem original, even fleetingly. I’m a new Aussies subscriber and loving your channel.
I'm a solo musician in Sydney, I was booked to play a habour cruise christmas party for frieght company, I asked the guys who do you normally get for this gig ? They said the last few years Ian Moss, I'm like really ? They said, he hires one of those yellow taxi boats and rocks up behind us and we drag him and his gear on board, when it's over he leaves the same way.
Don’t push yourself my friend we’re not going anywhere. I’m happy to hear that some of our Aussie music is feeding your soul ❤ PS the Farnham one is not showing up maybe check that the video is set to public not private?
Such a great version. Mossy is as good a person as he seems. A real good man. Seemingly like yourself Mike. I'm just a couple of years away from retiring and I'm looking forward to it as I too am tired. I'm a muso that plays live a lot and I want to do even more and work just slows me down. I was lucky enough to see Cold Chisel (although they called themselves The Barking Spiders), at their warmup concert at a relatively small theatre, holding about a thousand people. It was magnificent, great song after great song. Jimmy was on fire after he'd been incapacitated for a month before hand. He is a freak! They have now done a few major shows over the last week and will do being many more. Every show will be brilliant. Thanks for this song.
Mate, you are right down the rabbit hole. Some of us have 50 years start on you, so you have heaps to enjoy. Safe travels ‘til 31/12/24 and thereafter!
You deserve to hang up the badge and enjoy your time with your family. Cheers from Australia...these guys, and so many other Australian stellar bands and performers, were the soundtrack to my life. Nice to see you discovering them.
I'm so happy that our musicians help you through your day. They do for us, too! Do you ever share your videos with your work mates? We're a pretty laid back people and I would like to think that it's helping all of you, after your hard day at work. Cheers.
Thank you for sharing who you are and how you think with us. Your perspective is clear and illuminating. Your world as a police officer in the US, and Texas more specifically, is one we don't really know, can't really appreciate, but your honesty is helping us to understand. Your Australian subscribers will grow quickly if you continue as you are because we love people who are real, down to earth, decent human beings. Thanks again!
I feel ya brother, It gets harder as you get older. One consolation is I went to their last stand concert, Sydney in 83. It was truly memorable and got laid in the carpark to top it off. Can't get better than that. Remember one thing, life is not over when you retire, just another fork in the road. Just takes a bit longer to get where we are going because we are finally able to take our time and take it all in.
Thank you for your service to your community ! Great to see you discover Cold Chisel ! If you like Aussie culture, when you have time, when you retire, have a look at “ Mr Inbetween “ it’s a remarkable Australian production, really worth a look !
You've really bitten off a mouthful with the Aussie tracks you've chosen. I'm finding a lot of the tracks you've done kinda require a little background in Aussie culture to quite grasp (How to Make Gravy, Solid Rock, Only 19), but I commend you on your exploration of what is a very unique sound and subject matter. Having said that...if you're doing Mossy, you simply must do Tucker's Daughter and Bow River. Absolute classics from Ian Moss, and Cold Chisel. Also, look into The Black Sorrows/the Bull Sisters for some superb tunes 🤘
Mossy's got the voice, eh. Oh, and I've subbed. Us Aussies are proud to be finally discovered with our music, hence the viewership. Good on you with your police service and enjoy your retirement - you deserve it. Cheers
There's nothing wrong with having a ramble, being able to and having somewhere to vent is good for your soul and sanity. Take care man in your wind down from work don't let your guard down.👍👍 You're building up a good following with your down-to-earth reactions keep them coming .
Good on you for all your service Mike. Hope you have a real peaceful retirement, filled with music. I'm enjoying your reactions, which i watch whilst having a few beers as i wind down at the end of my day.
I'm sure many people have said this before, so anyhow, thankyou so much for all your good, hardworking & loyal service within the Military & Police Force !! We may live in different countries but we still believe in the same values !! Cheers & God bless..
You sound like a you're a really good guy who's done a lot to help people, now it's your time to do the things you want to do. I was worried about retiring, but I'm loving it. I've started to paint again, going to line dancing, learning Italian and I'm off to South America and Antarctica in a few months. Relax and enjoy your well deserved retirement, I'm sure you're going to find plenty of interesting things to fill your days. Loving your reactions to our great Aussie talent. 😊
Hey Mike Take your time Love your fair dinkum (real) reactions to our Aussie artists If I was close by I would have shouted you a couple of beers 🍺 Cheers Nico
Loooooove Mossy!!! Well I think you have certainly found a ready made little hobby listening to a load of music you have never experienced before to fill in a few gaps around grand kids, travel and relaxing 🤩
At my local on the Northern Beaches, you could see Cold Chisel, The Cockroaches ( who became -The Wiggles) , The Divinals + 2-3 others all in 1 night. We did'nt know it was special, to us it was just.. Life
The last couple of years I spent at work before I retired was hard and sometimes it was a battle just going motivated enough to show up. Since we retired my wife and I travel the country for months each year with our caravan and life has taken on a whole new meaning hopefully you will find the same when you finally decide to finally call it quits.. I cant even begin to imagine the stress of being a police officer must be on you especially over there in the US.
Wow, you must be counting down the days for retirement….lovely thought. I have less than 13 years until I do the same, and my other half has less than 5. My dilemma is, I don’t think I’m going to be able to work past my Hubby’s retirement. That is going to be weird. Only time will tell. As for Ian Moss aka Mossy, it’s always a good day when you hear him strum that guitar and sing. Also a shout out to Don Walker, playing that piano so fine.
PS Victoria (VIC) of which Melbourne if the Capital, NSW or New South Wales of which Sydney is the Capital, and QLD or Queensland of which Brisbane is the capital, TAS or Tasmania of which Hobart is the capital, and ACT or Australian Capital Territory (of which Canberra is the capital…..but this is also the capital of the whole country) are 2 hours ahead of me now. In summer they put their clock forward an hour (usually from October to April) so they are then 3 hours ahead, but I’m not sure if Queensland participates in that. NT or Northern Territory and SA or South Australia are 1.5 hours ahead. I am in WA or Western Australia, where Perth is the capital, but live about an hour and a half drive down south. PS there are some places that have their own time separate to above as well, like the Eucla on WA border which is halfway between WA and SA time zones.
So soothing, great review. I just woke up at stupid o’clock at 4.30 am Wednesday the 7th Aug. I might replay the song & see if I can doze off again. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Although I appreciated Jimmy's voice, Ian Moss was always my favourite singer. Loved Tucker's Daughter and Bow River that he sang 👌🤗. Jeesh, you have one hella list 😳😅
Worth getting up early for hey 😊. He’s wonderful. Take your time mate. No hurry. I retired this year, it’s a bit different, but I’m settling into it, I got plenty of projects.
There are plenty of guitarists who are good pickers. Ian Moss can make his guitar sing. If you like great guitar playing check out Aussie Tommy Emanuel doing his studio version of Classical Gas. Cheers from an Aussie on holiday on the “Island of the Gods” - Bali, Indonesia.
Thank you so much, what a great song. Also you should check out the black sorrows changed to the wheel and also jimmy Barnes featuring Diesel I'd die to be with you tonight.
I absolutely love Mossy's version of, 'Georgia'. To put some goodwill positivity into your day, please react to John Farnham (live in concert) and his band do a reinvention of Stevie Wonder's, 'Love's In Need'. It is WONDERFUL and sooo UPLIFTING ! You could even include it on your Gospel Sunday list. That's a reason why I love John Farnham . Apart from his outstandingly unique vocal ability, John includes quite a number of songs with a message for the greater good in the world. ( Like you, I am not religious and do not attend a church. However, I am actively spiritually orientated.)
just checked but cant see your John Farnham "Help" reaction. FYI. Looking forward to it. Another tip, one for the oldies : Bee Gees "Too Much Heaven" ...they grew up in Oz, also had their TV introduction on Bandstand, as did John Farnham, Olivia Newton John and Helen Reddy, to name a few
Great vids Mike I like your style. As a police officer I would like your opinion on the Hardy song 'Wait in the truck' and the message it's trying to project. Cheers mate.
Just subscribed, mainly because of your pure honest, easygoing personality, & beautiful music as well, if you have the time I would love to recommend some beautiful Aussie female music to you.....Delta Goodrem "Heavy" (Official Video)..
Good one for your Sunday drive is John farnhams Gethsemane. You do them at your pace no rush and if you want to do Sunday gospel do it its your Chanel after all.
Yeah i can see how your looking towards retirement Miss the adrenalin and mateship of the job But be relieved not dealing with the depression side of the job Yeah putting your lifes on the line every day for courts and politicians to release them Almost immediately has to be sole destroying as always the same people like ground hog days As word gets around more join in and hence the societies we have today with little respectfor others But they are still the minority and unfortunately if things don't change at the top they'll be the majority in the future Im guessing you'll feel so much relief once retired feel a different man and very strange just give yourself plenty of time tomadjust atleast a year if not 2 remember its something you haven't been able to do before being a kid so its very foreign and hobbies make the difference Then you can sit back enjoy family friends and your hobbies music as one Cheers mate your the one need to stay safe 🦘🇦🇺👍
You like gospel. John Farnham, Vanetta Fields and Lindsay Field doing Amazing Grace. You will not hear a better version. Vanetta is John’s LONG time backup singer but before she joined John she was an Ikette and has sang backup for the Stones, Stevie Wonder and a couple of other performers you might have heard of. Do yourself a favour and listen to this.
Mossy is a musical genius, plays guitar, and has a better voice than Jimmy. Do yourself a favour and listen to Ian Moss album Six Strings, does a great version of Green River
Dont push yourself too hard. You'll get to them when you can. Trust me, we're not going anywhere. Stay safe and stay strong. The next few months will go by quickly and then you can relax. 🇦🇺 🪃 🦘

As an Aussie watching you enjoy our music is amazing , nice one man, Mossy is extraordinary
Yeah same for me.. Ian Moss's solo career also produced some awesome music as well..
Congratulations. You deserve the opportunity to enjoy life surrounded by your family and good music.
