I remember doing that with my brother early on, he was playing the game fairly legitly and I was young and used to think 3 marines and a firebat was "an effective fighting army" so finding out cheeses was almost a necessity. The firebats and ghosts do more damage to small units then large ones was something I used often; it wasn't directly stated but by watching health you'd notice differences that armour didn't show. This mission was just icing on the cake. You can either struggle against an attack and then counterstrike, or you can just rush with one SCV with a shield which everyone assumes "Simply will not work" and often never try.

When I got the remastered version (hey, don't judge), I noticed the option to turn on Japanese, so I tried it. After a few levels, I understood why it bombed in Japan. The translation was just enough to get the point across, but "sanitized" enough to really mask the full experience. I'll give a few examples. The Marine in the original English sounds like a certain type of conscript: ready to take orders to go kill stuff, but there's enough of the former outlaw where you probably don't want to mess with him too much ("You wanna piece'a'me, boy?"). In the Japanese version he sounds like a professional soldier, or a polite mercenary. Some of the dialogue is translated well ("Go go go!"), other parts sound like they wrote a completely different character ("Jacked up and good to go" > "Preparations complete, ready to go at any time"). There are a ton of words where they just decided to transliterate when there were perfectly good Japanese words available. "Terran" could be translated to 地球人 or 人間, "Marine" could be 兵隊 or 宇宙兵, but no, we can't use kanji for some reason. Unless it's "Magistrate" (and then they leave out words like 閣下 which denote respect towards authority figures).
one of the speedrunners for StarCraft is French and the voice lines are hilarious but more because of the delivery, they clearly paid attention to the inflection for English. Only real difference I noticed is that the medics don't sound very flirty, rather very prompt and business-like
I wonder though, if the rough, convict personality would turn off Japanese players. It's a rigid society and the military is especially rigid. The terrans are a race of people who essentially got the Australian treatment of sending all your worst criminals somewhere far away, and them forming their own society. I'm not sure from your comment, but maybe you're native to Japan, you'd know better than me what sort of thing would go down well with Japanese people.
1:39:45 To avoid building a supply depot and save some time you kill your own men instead, you have a wacked moral as a marine ;) would have stated, and all this little tricks of yours you have picked up from somebody else off course? :)
Still wasn't able to pass 'Desperate Alliance' properly. That avalanche of Zergs always rampaging my entire base, despite trying to destroy theirs before the 10 minutes deadline. Uuuggghh!!!
I really dig how almost every mission is designed with sitting on your ass and building a base, and your response is: Nah, lets just go straight at them
Is there not a way to run it on Linux? I actually just recently have been getting into Linux. And I dual boot windows 7 and Ubuntu(linux). You should look into that. But I'd bet there is a way to run it on linux too
I miss this game my favorite blizzard game. I know it's never going to happen again 😭 but I really wish Nintendo would ask them to remake the StarCraft 64 version and put it on the eShop or make a physical copy to sell in store like game stop or Best buy ECT. I mean this game would sell like hot cakes to be able to play on the go. I would be happy to pay full price of 59.99.
Do you have all the cutscenes? I see the other youtube uploader “Virtual Gaming Library -VGL” has uploaded this and it’s longer. I don’t wanna miss anything. If he has unnecessary game plays then i’ll watch yours instead. Please reply because i want to binge watch all of these episodes.
When I was a kid, I didn't understand why Arcturus Mengsk left Sarah Kerrigan to her death. I realize now that he was a power hungry megalomaniac who got unreasonably pissed when his second-in-command questioned his use of psi emitters.
I’m a newish Starcraft player. My dad used to play and he finished the campaign a long while back. I’m only at The Hammer Falls. Anyone have some tips?
Play the way you like - freedom is unique beauty of games. Eventually you find the method to beat any mission Make upgrades and your army become deadly and durable For Terran build Siege Tanks and Goliaths to cover them from air attacks For Zerg play any mix you like just micro it well For Protoss build anything
My head cannon is that Duke was sent to protect the infested command center but wasnt told what it really was because the confeds wanted to experiment on infested terrans. Because Duke failed to protect the command center the confed higher ups decided to use the zerg to kill him as its possible at this point he knew too much and they were cutting off loose ends. Mengsk likely knew all of this ahead of time or at least intercepted their transmissions and he deliberately keeps you in the dark most of the time just kind of operating as a small time task force. Mengsk is a conniving manipulator and he knows that Duke will do anything he is ordered to do for the sake of power while he will kill Kerrigan after questioning his orders because having a moralistic person around like Kerrigan who has the power to kill him is a liability he cant afford. Its likely he would have killed Raynor whenever it became convienient because psychologically people like Raynor and Kerrigan were freedom fighters who Mengsk duped into helping him build his empire, he had no long term use for them once they realized who he really was or what really motivated him. I mean its completely insane that Mengsk claims hes working to save humanity by unleashing the Zerg on their capital world and weakening their military so he can present himself as a saviour and "avenge" his family. The truth is that Mengsk is just an absolute madman and potentially worse than the Confederates since he is completely unhinged about ruling at any cost.
me: does the last mission 7 times and always fails this dude : haha nuke goes brrrrrrrr (( i didnt use nukes lol )) so yeah thanks for that beacouse i finally won and can start playing zergs !!
Played this game everyday after school with my friend chad in 1999. They don’t make games this good anymore. I also remember each game box had a special code on it that you needed to input on install, so you couldn’t just “steal” someone’s disc and play the game lol. I remember borrowing the game and not having the code 😂. Good days for gaming. They don’t make them like this anymore. The Zerg sound effects were and still are gross!!
Arturus' idea was that he could use Kerrigan to control the zerg, and that backfired because the overmind was live. It'd be like having a loud voice vs a megaphone; you might occasionally be heard but everyone would hear the megaphone more. You can find out what happens next in StarCraft 1 - Full Zerg Campaign!
Wow SC1 had such a good plot line and was so far ahead of its time.
I finally found the perfect combination for the ones who love following the story and, at the same time, watching greatly skilled playthroughs!

"I love you serg'"
"huh ?"
*the worst murder possible *
starcraft it was just... awesome
Is it murder, tho
I loved your strategies, planning and skills that led to great victory
My computer always crashes when I start to play the second terran level so this helps me to know what to expect when I skip to the zerg campaign 👍
I remember my uncle gave me a computer in 2000 and I played Terran's original Campaign for the first time
That memory is still fresh now..
1:39:45 To avoid building a supply depot and save some time you kill your own men instead, you have a wacked moral as a marine ;) would have stated, and all this little tricks of yours you have picked up from somebody else off course? :)
That final mission cheese was amazing
The fun parts start here 1:01:50
"You want a piece of me, boy?!?" Never gets old...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still wasn't able to pass 'Desperate Alliance' properly. That avalanche of Zergs always rampaging my entire base, despite trying to destroy theirs before the 10 minutes deadline. Uuuggghh!!!
I really dig how almost every mission is designed with sitting on your ass and building a base, and your response is: Nah, lets just go straight at them
Out of nowhere I remembered this game, thanks for uploading it. I would install if but Im too lazy to change from linux to windows
Is there not a way to run it on Linux? I actually just recently have been getting into Linux. And I dual boot windows 7 and Ubuntu(linux).
You should look into that. But I'd bet there is a way to run it on linux too
I play it in Ubuntu using wine and it works just fine.
Linux is aids
I apologize for Boozal m, he will be sacked immediately.
I forgot how loud this game is with all those units attacking at once.
man those ressourcesspots in sc1 campaigns really were crazy. let me just put 7 workers on that gas
I'll just plop another command center right here. It's OK, I could use the nuke silo.
If you have a computer and Bnet account, Blizzard made it free to play
Thank you for uploading the vanilla version and not that god awful remaster with its changed art direction and terrible, sc2-inspired unit portraits
1:05:59 bro just speedran the entire level in less than 30 seconds and meanwhile i spent like an hour farming minerals for my wraith army 😭
There's a lot of Foghorn Leghorn in Duke's voice.
1:06:00 LOL!! I thought Im the only one who did this but me I brought 5 soldiers with me with the PSI xD
Such a good game 🎯
Do you have all the cutscenes? I see the other youtube uploader “Virtual Gaming Library -VGL” has uploaded this and it’s longer. I don’t wanna miss anything. If he has unnecessary game plays then i’ll watch yours instead. Please reply because i want to binge watch all of these episodes.
These have all cutscenes.
@@StuGames Ok thanks
When I was a kid, I didn't understand why Arcturus Mengsk left Sarah Kerrigan to her death. I realize now that he was a power hungry megalomaniac who got unreasonably pissed when his second-in-command questioned his use of psi emitters.
34:23 Cheater, you are not suppose to do that
1:06:00 wut lol
Would anyone believe me if I said I didn't know how to attack move because I was a little kid and played through the entire game and the expansion...
I've seen all kinds of players back when online play was Battle.net.
I’m a newish Starcraft player. My dad used to play and he finished the campaign a long while back. I’m only at The Hammer Falls. Anyone have some tips?
Play the way you like - freedom is unique beauty of games. Eventually you find the method to beat any mission
Make upgrades and your army become deadly and durable
For Terran build Siege Tanks and Goliaths to cover them from air attacks
For Zerg play any mix you like just micro it well
For Protoss build anything
@@MaxArt137 Thanks! I'm still new but I like this game quite a bit.
Something about watching you blow your own marines to pieces at lightning speed is oddly satisfying
You are the best! Are you really Stu Rose? Thanks for doing this !
no :D
@@StuGames Still a legend :)
this is amazing
The greatest game ever made.
Man I love this game
Mission 3 terran can be like this:
Marine: WHERE IS DE AIR SUPPORT!?
The Air Support (who’s 7 months too late): I’m here what you……. Oh…….. fuck
4:33 permission denied
I used to think General Duke was wearing a Hawaiian shirt
Me too! :D
Damn. I built up an army then cleared out the map. I understand this is a noobie map but gawd damn.
I love you, Sarge!
i loveyou sarg :,(
Why does this have to be so hard.... I feel like I shouldn't have to learn the game thoroughly before playing the campaign..
Yeah writing in games was great 25+ years ago )
How can someone NOT like videogames? Such a masterpiece this was.
My idol stu👍☕
So awesome 🆒️ 😎
Man I Remember this and also HOW SHIT I WAS
Special shout out to mission 3 FUCK OFF with me surviving a half hour when I was younger
You play good.
Seeing you beat NORAD II in like, 10 minutes, after it took me roughly an hour was mind blowing.
Of course I overcomplicated it lol
My father played this game when he was young.
Happy memories
This guy looks for trouble. The objective was to guard the station till the drop ships arrive
I love this game I wish 🤞 thay made it for samsung galaxy note 20 ultra

this dude : haha nuke goes brrrrrrrr
(( i didnt use nukes lol ))
so yeah thanks for that beacouse i finally won and can start playing zergs !!
StarCraft 2 ?
I will have the frase "you want a piece of my boy?" Forever on my brain omce i am done with this video
Damn the trump card mission was actually a trump card🤣
Me: "Ion cannon mission ain't that easy"
This guy: "actually it pretty easy... look"
Reporting for duty🤠🗣️
god damn i loved this game. What happened to Blizzard. so sad. so much potential wasted for pay-to-win micro-transaction bullshit.
One of these days I want the guys to program sonic starcraft mod
Those human faces in the cinematics tho 😂
Is that you Zeffern Corcoren? What happend to your hair?
Adjutant is best wiafu.
Lmao the scv with the matrix.
Power overwhelming
In Starcraft 1 sad that Actructus helps out Raynor on Mar Sara then backstabs Jim Raynor and kills Kerrigan
This aged so well Mengsk is Putin Blizzard predicted the future XD by accident.
!~ALITA~!
no secret missions
The only secret mission in StarCraft 1 is beating Brood War Zerg mission 9 in under 25 minutes.
