Hi guys, so sorry this one took so long to post. Unfortunately after a fierce battle with cancer, Alan’s dad passed away. This happened shortly after we finished filming this. We’re still traveling & making videos, but took some much needed time to heal and focus on other things in life. ❤ Thanks for understanding and we hope you enjoyed it. Let’s us know if there is anything we missed that you would add. 😊
Thank you for visiting Hong Kong. Being one the the locally born hongkongers, we owe you two a ‘real’ hot crispy pineapple buns with slice of cold butter, and a traditional dim sum restaurant (茶樓) experience ❤️

Thank you so much, this is basically the best compliment a youtuber can receive so it means a lot! We had a great time in Hong Kong and hope to visit again sometime! Also thank you, we are doing a lot better.
Thank you for the positive feedback about your trip to Hong Kong! I'm glad to hear that you had a great experience. As a local, I look forward to bringing both of you to try the traditional egg tart and pineapple bun on your next visit to Hong Kong. DC

Oh, also, there are 2 kinds of egg tarts in Hong Kong. There is the cookie like crust and also a more flakey like crust. The flakey like crust is more closer resemblance to the one from Macau and my favourite. Each bakery is also different in their recipe by a little so I like to try lots and lots. The Pineapple bun you bought is definitely not the one people are referring it. It's normally round for a start, and you can get it at the place where you got your Hong Kong breakfast, and it will come with a thick piece of butter in the middle.
Thank you very much for your insight and tips!! I’m excited to try the different egg tarts the next time we visit!! And yes that pineapple bun was so different!! Idk why!

The pineapple bun is usually a round one with crunchy topping, instead of a stick-like one you ate. The best place to taste it should be at a Hong Kong style restaurant, with a piece of cold butter embedded in a warm bun, better still with a cup of milk tea.
Amazing video. Btw, the Red Incense Burner Summit on Braemar Hill is named for its rocky, reddish terrain, which resembles a traditional Chinese incense burner. Now you know!
Hey, just came across your video. Welcome to Hong Kong! Can't believe you guys missed the tram haha!! It's like missing the one in San Fran!! MacLehose Trail, one of four named long-distance hiking trails in Hong Kong. It is 100 kilometre long and is named after a former Hong Kong Governor. These trails basically connect existing paths with improvements made by the government to make them safer for hiking. Bride’s Pool is probably too remote to go to for a foreign tourist. Better try any reservoirs on Hong Kong Island or adjacent to Kowloon Peninsula. They are easy to reach by public transport and easy to walk.
It was a shame as well as good news that the WALL CITY was torn apart and replaced with new buildings. If it was restored for public to see it as an outdoor museum, it would have attracted lots of tourists as well as locals who wished to know more about this place.
Agreed! The construction style did sound a bit dicey and like it may not last a very long time BUT I completely agree, if they had restored it or made a replica of sorts I think it would be wildly popular with tourists! I saw they had built a small one in Japan as an arcade, it looked pretty interesting, but it closed down a few years ago.
You know …. When the idea of constructing the Lantau Cable Car System, the HK Government back then had to import mules from South America to haul all the equipment up because they are strong to carry all the equipment 😁
Thanks you guys so much to heads Hong Kong, China to visits many amazing places on the streets including Disneyland & other attractions in Asia November of 2024❤❤❤
I miss Hong Kong, last time was 2018. Always have had a good time. Know this city better than NY or Boston. Was the safest I felt in any city, unsure what it is like now since ______^.
A local Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR breakfast at any CHAR CHAANG TENG is the “pineapple” bun with lots of butter 🧈 in it and drink with a mixture of milk-tea coffee that is sweet and creamy 😋😋😋
I am sorry for what you encountered in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, if there is construction noise between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. on normal days or at any time on a general holiday, you may ask the police for help. Anyways, hotels are VERY STRONGLY recommended for tourists to Hong Kong for many reasons, and hotels will deal with the unacceptable noises for you. Next time, you may consider coming to Hong Kong around November, to avoid rain, fog, hotness and typhoons. Hong Kong is humid and hot in summer, easy to heat stroke. Hope the unlucky experiences did not wipe out the good sides of Hong Kong!
Thank you so much for your tips!! We agree, it is far better to do hotels!! And don’t worry, they definitely did not ruin our time there! We had a hard a rough start of course, but we absolutely loved Hong Kong! Can’t wait to visit again! 🥰
Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR residents who move into a new flat always hire contractors to do a complete remodel of the flat they move into so it looks better than what the previous owner had done.
Oh surely it was a remodel!! They had been doing construction for nearly 2 weeks (in hopes they would finish their project lol) before we gave up on the place lol.
Hotel prices were pretty high, but less than or comparable to many major North American and European cities. The hotel actually was the same price as our previous airbnb because they do a great long stay discount! We just made the cut off for it the day we moved! Plus the long stays seem to get placed on the higher club floors if there’s availability! 😊
I recommend you can book the youth Hotel such as Mei Ho, YMCA and and so on, you eat the noodle is not Hong Kong noodle style. That is main land China food. You can try traditional dim sum restaurant that has many carts walk around to showing different dim sum. You ate dim sum restaurant is modern style but the food is also so yummy. Finally, I want tell you Hong Kong has many natural view that our government and Kol that do not show.

Oh gosh, yes!! We stick to USA hours, so I think in Hong Kong we were waking up at 9-10pm (not am, pm!!) and going to bed by 1-2pm or so!! It was rough!! Even rougher when our neighbor decided to start construction throughout the entire day and night.. I don't think those people slept at all lol. We couldn't even nap!! lol.
@@jstussyer hahaha well we are very lucky that we have a pretty flexible budget and enough saved for scenarios like this! 😆 BUT we got even more lucky that when I asked the airbnb host very nicely for a refund on the nights we didn’t use, they happily agreed. Plus the hotel and airbnb were basically the same price when you added in the hotels generous long stay discount, which we just made the cutoff for! I think all said and done it was about $100 USD out of pocket. Not too bad!
Expensive of living cost in Hong Kong, if travellers come , hotel is a better choice 😅. Transport is excellent for everyone although somethimes many people
We didn’t want to make a huge fuss, but we probably should have. 11pm, 1am, 3am, 7am, 10am… so on and so forth… I’m not sure those people ever slept? 🤣
The Walled City was self-ruled as a way of not being under the persecution of the British. Crime entered the City when British opium became out of control.
@IfWeGoTo they initially paid for the tea, silk and pottery with gold and silver. They became greedy and forced the locals to "trade" in the exchange of drugs. They shipped the opium over from India under their own East Indian Company. The history is fascinating and sad at the same time. However, not many people care about the past.
You're doing a fantastic job! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
@@IfWeGoTo I'm not sure. Like you say, it's just some bun you can put stuff in. I suspect because most people know what they're getting anyway, the bakery just didn't bother with the labels after shifting the trays

Wow, thank you SO much! You definitely did not have to send us anything, but it is also much appreciated! :)
*Tai Mo Shan is the highest mountain in Hong Kong.
Oops! We must have read some wrong info! Thank you!
希望你们来。北京。上海。深圳。杭州。苏州。来领略他的美
We will!! Thank you! :)
You can call the police if the construction continues after 7pm
There are so many western hotels in Hk, like Holiday Inn. Should stay there instead.
We liked where we stayed!!
Holiday inn is a different class of hotel though.
Harbour Grand competes with brands like Grand Hyatt, Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton.
never watched a video of the traveler transfer from BNB to a 5 star hotel . Guess you used up the budget for your next trip? 🤣
@@jstussyer hahaha well we are very lucky that we have a pretty flexible budget and enough saved for scenarios like this! 😆
BUT we got even more lucky that when I asked the airbnb host very nicely for a refund on the nights we didn’t use, they happily agreed.
Transport is excellent for everyone although somethimes many people
Agreed!!!
welcome to china
Thank you!
that's why snooker GOAT moves to Hong Kong, but you have to be very rich first in order to be a migrant here.
What is a snooker GOAT?
@@IfWeGoTo Snooker Greatest of All Time - Ronnie O'Sullivan obtained his residency in Hong Kong !

Haha I knew you’d be here!! Hope you’re enjoying Japan!!!
@@IfWeGoTo hehe thank you 🙏🇯🇵🙏
It is illegal to make noise from 11pm to 7am. You can call the police.
We didn’t want to make a huge fuss, but we probably should have. 11pm, 1am, 3am, 7am, 10am… so on and so forth… I’m not sure those people ever slept? 🤣
Construction work only 9-6 on weekday only under the law u should call the police
Yeah we probably should have!! This person was at it literally all day and night… I don’t think they slept 🤣
The Walled City was self-ruled as a way of not being under the persecution of the British. Crime entered the City when British opium became out of control.
That makes sense!! It seems like the British really had a lot of influence over Hong Kong with their tea/opium troubles 😩
No clue how, sorry!!
bucket list用遺願翻譯是錯誤的,用心願較正確吧。
哦,谷歌自动将标题从英文翻译过来。那么“愿望清单”IT 部门会是中文吗?
@IfWeGoTo 願望清單是可以的。
遺願英文是「will」,somebody's will before he die.
That's not a pinapple bun. The pinapple bun is the ones on the bottom left 16:10
It said it was... we were so disappointed!! Do you know what we got actually is?
@@IfWeGoTo I'm not sure. Like you say, it's just some bun you can put stuff in. I suspect because most people know what they're getting anyway, the bakery just didn't bother with the labels after shifting the trays
@@NelsonChan Ohh that makes perfect sense hahaha. Oh well! We did not film it, but we did find an AMAZING pineapple bun spot in Mong Kok!

抱歉,我不明白?
u used the wrong flag
Is it not the Hong Kong flag?
@@IfWeGoTo thats an outdated flag. u should just use the chinese flag instead. except that however, great job!
@voidpasklfd1 we saw it hanging all over the city, so I figure they’re still using it!
Thanks!
@@voidpasklfd1what do you mean by outdated? 🇭🇰 still is the Hong Kong flag
