I like how some chat was like "Jackal recommended this didnt they" because of the SMT-like vibes it gives off, meanwhile I was in the middle of finishing an SMT theory video and running around in VRC as Nahobino when he started streaming this and I had no idea about it before then lmao.
I played Kowloon's Curse way back which also has the old school SMT feel with the exploration and world feel like this game. I hope people make more games like this. Theres a point where a lot of these games draw inspiration from 90's post-apocalyptic/cyberpunk dungeon crawlers which also can be traced back to how popular games like Wizardry got in Japan.
hi i was one of the developers of this game. it is my first game ever. thank you all for the kind words this absolutely made my week. SMT is (probably obviously) my favorite game series, so it is heartwarming to see those comparisons 🥲 thanks vinny and thanks to all of you.
me and the team are beginning work on a full-fledged project more akin to smt iv / nocturne. :-)
OH! smt fans: you ought to also check out one of my favorite smt-inspired projects, “they speak from the abyss” (from nikki kalpa). she is one of the main reasons i bothered trying to make a first person gridder like this.

the fun thing about these is that you could completely delve into the teology aspects in the game and then just realize it's a silly little game made for a gamejam
i mean there’s not that much there. pagans asked for the muses to inspire them, christians asked for God to inspire them. people used to attribute inspiration to a supernatural world.

Funny enough this is one game I didn't know about until he played it
I didn't really like the LSD game Jam stream from earlier because most, if not all, of the games played that stream weren't really giving the same energy as LSD Dream Emulator. They were really just weird. Which is fine on its own. However THIS game DEFINITELY gave LSD Dream Emulator vibes and did so in spades. The game jam needed more titles like this one. I love the music, the absurd MAC10 spell, the pseudo theological aspect, and the graphics it all just tied together so well. Actually gave the vibe of going through some wild lucid dream. We need more stuff like this.

@attherasco you cant be copyrighted for an alias. gecko afterlife is a separate artist inspired by gecko afterlife hd and james ferraro. i'm pretty sure if james had any issues with it he would've contacted him by now. it's cool seeing someone finally notice the namesake tho

His main problem is he speeds through games like an ADHD MKULTRA experiment because he thinks he's no longer relevant unless he streams 50 games per day. In doing so, he never plays games or enjoys the game. His goal is to just milk it for content until his allotted 30minutes to 1 hour for each game is up.
