hi i was one of the developers of this game. it is my first game ever. thank you all for the kind words this absolutely made my week. SMT is (probably obviously) my favorite game series, so it is heartwarming to see those comparisons 🥲 thanks vinny and thanks to all of you. me and the team are beginning work on a full-fledged project more akin to smt iv / nocturne. :-) OH! smt fans: you ought to also check out one of my favorite smt-inspired projects, “they speak from the abyss” (from nikki kalpa). she is one of the main reasons i bothered trying to make a first person gridder like this.
absolutely loved this one, props to the devs the fun thing about these is that you could completely delve into the teology aspects in the game and then just realize it's a silly little game made for a gamejam
i mean there’s not that much there. pagans asked for the muses to inspire them, christians asked for God to inspire them. people used to attribute inspiration to a supernatural world.
I didn't really like the LSD game Jam stream from earlier because most, if not all, of the games played that stream weren't really giving the same energy as LSD Dream Emulator. They were really just weird. Which is fine on its own. However THIS game DEFINITELY gave LSD Dream Emulator vibes and did so in spades. The game jam needed more titles like this one. I love the music, the absurd MAC10 spell, the pseudo theological aspect, and the graphics it all just tied together so well. Actually gave the vibe of going through some wild lucid dream. We need more stuff like this.
Sorry I forgot to mention that the track for that section of the game got claimed, so I put Moonlit Wilderness slowed by 20% and it was oddly fitting lol.
idk what's up but it seems that track was added in post-production by vinesauce editors. the original track that plays is wired weird by gecko afterlife
@@trauma_donutif i'm not mistaken gecko afterlife was one of the akas james ferraro used to make music some time ago. maybe they replaced it because of copyright, idk
@attherasco you cant be copyrighted for an alias. gecko afterlife is a separate artist inspired by gecko afterlife hd and james ferraro. i'm pretty sure if james had any issues with it he would've contacted him by now. it's cool seeing someone finally notice the namesake tho
I like how some chat was like "Jackal recommended this didnt they" because of the SMT-like vibes it gives off, meanwhile I was in the middle of finishing an SMT theory video and running around in VRC as Nahobino when he started streaming this and I had no idea about it before then lmao. I played Kowloon's Curse way back which also has the old school SMT feel with the exploration and world feel like this game. I hope people make more games like this. Theres a point where a lot of these games draw inspiration from 90's post-apocalyptic/cyberpunk dungeon crawlers which also can be traced back to how popular games like Wizardry got in Japan.

dev confirmed inspiration was SMT 1
Watching this before bed and after eating a whole pack of cheddar cheese because I want strange dreams tonight.
I think the only reason I watch Vinesauce is to recreate drug effects without drugs
Sometimes, I dream about cheese
Vinny finally played 3D Monster Maze.

I thought the comments were exaggerating but this really just a classic SMT game
the dungeoncrawler of anything goes

9:10 why is a slowed version of Moonlit Wilderness from Tekken 5 playing
Apparently it was added in post, copystrikes being apparently
And why do I kinda like it more than normal Moonlit Wilderness??

Vinny cast Testicular Torsion!
31:13 MAC-10 Crust
Why the Tekken soundtrack?
that's not in the original game. the track is wired weird by gecko afterlife but it seems it got replaced when this video was edited
wow Vinny played Three Houses again
very avant-garde
Is his lack of patience an asset as a streamer man, do you think?
Vinny should check out Psychopomp. I think he may enjoy that.
David Lynch is playing this game exactly now
This game gives me major Fear and Hunger vibes. Especially the character in the thumbnail.
How is this similar in any way to that?
one of the songs sounds like moonlit wilderness that is on the kazuya stage in smash ultimate
This is a better SMT game than SMTV

They really captured the vibe of mid budget 90s game that only came out in Japan and Europe.
I think the final poem is about the writer "giving God a try" and then realizing "the voice more commanding" comes from their own throat every time.
This game’s soundtrack was honestly amazing
The music in the first area sounds like a Clams Casino beat. I can totally imagine Lil B rapping over it

man i've seen that "interact" hand sprite in doom mods i think. it's like 1/8 the size in this but it looks just like it
its from Blood. its the sprite used for the spray can weapon.
Why is there a Tekken music at 9:12? Anyways, I think I should give that game a shot.
